You may have noticed that Cadbury Dairy Milk Egg ‘N’ Spoon have been working with Mumsnet over the past couple of months in the run up to Easter. Now that Easter is almost upon us, Cadbury Dairy Milk Egg ‘N’ Spoon want to find out what Mumsnetters enjoy doing with their children around Easter time.

Cadbury Dairy Milk Egg ‘N’ Spoon have been celebrating those spontaneous joyful little moments parents share with their DCs. With Easter coming up in a couple of weeks Cadbury Dairy Milk want to know what you enjoy doing with your DCs in the run up to Easter or on Easter Sunday itself. Perhaps you decorate Easter eggs together? Or maybe you do an Easter egg hunt together on the morning of Easter Sunday? Whatever it is, we’d love to hear it.

Everyone who adds their comments to this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a £200 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

P.S. Cadbury Dairy Milk are encouraging Mumsnetters to get artsy this Easter and have come up with two how-to arts and crafts guides on what you can do with a left over Cadbury Dairy Milk Egg ‘N’ Spoon box. You can view the Larry the Lamb guide here, and the Easter Chick Basket here. What do you think of them? Is it something you'd try?

I have a whole week off work with my little ones. So a few day trips out and easter weekend to our static caravan. An easter egg hunt on the Saturday to get them excited and an excuse for a bit of chocolate! !

Spending time together as a family . However as my children have opposite Easter holidays this year that sadly won't be happening.

I adore Easter break because it is the one which I "plan" with nothing in mind - not trips, no schedule, no agenda. We get up late, stay in pyjamas for most of most mornings, and really live a spontaneous lifestyle. As the weather is not so cold and we have more sunlight in the afternoons, we get dressed just prior to lunch and head our on random adventures in the afternoon. Just around Easter, I make a special cake with the boys for Easter Sunday, and plan out the Easter Egg hunt and Easter lunch. Yes, it usually turns into a chocolate gorging session, but hey-ho...

I plan a chocolate egg hunt by making it a treasure hunt incorporating the local park. At each stage of the hunt, there is a written cue with mini chico eggs to keep them going, until the final clue, where the prize is the big chocolate egg for each child, plus DH. This happens on Easter morning, followed by a chocolate eating session, then Easter lunch. I have not used Cadbury's eggNspoon before, but have been inspired by the eggNspoon at breakfast idea to fuel the hunt. hmmmmm...

two of our dc are grown up now but we had the traditions of egg hunts, and beautiful crafts when they were younger.
Oh such happy memories of the traditions we set for the future of family life.

This year they along with dd are "Pimping my egg" I can't wait to see the end result and I know it will take them ages.

A large hollow cadbury's chocolate egg with the inside of crème eggs poured inside and filled to the top.

We usually go to DDad's for Easter, and the DCs have a lovely Easter Egg hunt in DDad's big garden with their cousins.

DS is 14, and generally "too cool for school" but if there is chocolate to be had he forgets his age for a while and gets stuck in. Grin

Rolling eggs down a local hill, it's a tradition around here!

Eating lots of chocolate, days out or going on a short break.

We normally go to a caravan site near the beach for Easter each year with lots of activities laid on. This year we can't afford it so I have been collecting vouchers for days out and saving my Tesco vouchers so that we can eat out occasionally. I also got a free DVD through a cash back site and we are going to have a movie night at home. I am definitely going to try the Easter basket - we have an empty box already Blush

My son loves his mammoth easter egg hunt more than he does Christmas, so for around 3 hours Easter Sunday it's outside in the garden looking for his 200 mini eggs. SO exciting even though I hide the lot of 'em just love watching him. Mmm, chocolate.

Easter was one of my favourite childhood memories, it was like Christmas with all the pomp and ceremony but sunny and bright. I loved it.

So,over the easter weekend I try to go to a church service, this time its messy church with the kids. We go and visit the local sheep and baby lambs. We blow eggs and decorate them, i do mine all mehndi type patterns and dd1 just scribbles on hers but then we hang them on the Easter Tree that I got off ebay years ago. We've made other eggs over time with airdry clay, tissue covered polysterene ones. They all add to the collection and I'm not as fussy about it looking a mess compared to the Christmas Tree.

On easter sunday the kids wake up to Easter eggs in their room. My mum and stepdad come over and we have a huge roast dinner with slow cooked lamb and something chocolatey for pudding. I decorate the table just as much as I would for christmas with bunny ears napkins and lots of flowers etc. After lunch we have an egg hunt with plastic eggs which i fill with mini eggs, hair clips, and once knickers!!

Dd still hasnt forgotten the year the Easter bunny brought her knickers?!!!

Well, with a newborn in the house, my two girls are having quite a quiet easter at home - lots and lots of crafts planned plus I've bought some outdoor toys to keep them entertained in the garden. Crafts I'm planning are decorating eggs (we like to make a hole in each end, blow out the egg which we scramble for dinner usually, wash and decorate the shells and hang up in the house), making easter baskets, face painting bunny faces and trying out making some basic jewellery! Apart from that I've invested in half a dozen puzzles and both my older girls are very into them right now.

I am going to cook ds a big breakfast on Easter morning, he really deserves it as he gave up bacon for Lent! He adores bacon and chocolate about equally so am quite tempted to give him an egg with bacon inside Smile

We'll be going away in the caravan for the easter weekend. Looking at going to a National Trust place over the weekend as they'll have an easter egg hunt on.

Hopefully the weather will be nice and we can do some more outdoorsy type stuff like bike rides, dog walks.
