You may have noticed that Cadbury Dairy Milk Egg ‘N’ Spoon have been working with Mumsnet over the past couple of months in the run up to Easter. Now that Easter is almost upon us, Cadbury Dairy Milk Egg ‘N’ Spoon want to find out what Mumsnetters enjoy doing with their children around Easter time.

Cadbury Dairy Milk Egg ‘N’ Spoon have been celebrating those spontaneous joyful little moments parents share with their DCs. With Easter coming up in a couple of weeks Cadbury Dairy Milk want to know what you enjoy doing with your DCs in the run up to Easter or on Easter Sunday itself. Perhaps you decorate Easter eggs together? Or maybe you do an Easter egg hunt together on the morning of Easter Sunday? Whatever it is, we’d love to hear it.

Everyone who adds their comments to this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a £200 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

P.S. Cadbury Dairy Milk are encouraging Mumsnetters to get artsy this Easter and have come up with two how-to arts and crafts guides on what you can do with a left over Cadbury Dairy Milk Egg ‘N’ Spoon box. You can view the Larry the Lamb guide here, and the Easter Chick Basket here. What do you think of them? Is it something you'd try?

My daughter's birthday party is next week and we've been doing some brithday treat actvities. We've got Easter cards and decorations to make and after learning all about Lithuanian paiting eggs (google them - they're amazing) we're going to give that a go. We'll be taking a great deal of care as it will involve hot wax and a 2 and 5 year old!

Instead of buying eggs for my daughters friends, we are meeting up and going to the Cadbury egg hunt at Osterley House.
We thought it would be a great idea as they get to meet up during the holidays, have fun running around with their friends while we have coffee, and most importantly the National Trust gets a little something for Easter too! :)

Weather permitting go out for a picnic and roll our eggs on Easter Monday. Do it on the stairs if raining!

We have blown and decorated eggs. On the day we will organize a half hearted egg hunt at home which will result in just letting the kids eat loads of chocolate.

We get all of the children together in our street and organise an egg hunt. The nice part is that the children then share out their 'finds' to make sure everyone has a good pile! The parents all share the cost and set up their garden with eggs ready to be discovered.

This Easter we are moving back to England, away from the crazy traditions of Slovakia where the men whip the ladies with birches and in return the ladies give the men chocolate! Now that doesn't sound like a fair exchange to me!

We have a family birthday party to go to on Easter Saturday so I shall be spending a few hours travelling. Shall be taking lots of car snacks and I will bet quite a lot that some will be egg-shaped and then we'll be having silly amounts of no-doubt loud and active fun.
Hoping that we get back quickly on Sunday, as we've an egg hunt set up for the garden. Monday will be family relax time or perhaps going out if the weather is ok.

Easter egg hunts at the national trust, visiting farms to see the ickle baby lambs, decorating eggs and bonnets, and I always do a treasure hunt where the prizes are bits of crafts and at the end we make something. Grin

I'm hoping to have more success with homemade hot cross buns. Last year's were crunchy, not good!

We will be doing a chocolate Easter egg hunt at my parents with my daughter and her cousins.

We are egg painting and then rolling them too. We are going to a local nature reserve for another Easter trail too :)

Our tradition has changed slighty as DDs have got older. DD1 (now 12 and too cool to wear bunny ears and go hunting around the house) gets little treats in a bag that she decorated when she was about 4 years old. DD2 puts on a pair of bunny ears and has a pile of clues - read as my bad rhymes! (eg. Off to the downstairs loo you must run…..Are you bunnies having fun?). When she gets to the clue location she pops the treats (usually a mini egg or two) in her bunny bag. At the end of the hunt it a "big" easter egg. We then all sit down and stuff our faces with chocolate - hurray!

my children dye chickens eggs with their grandmother which they have collected from their granny's hens.
Then their grandfather hides them around the farmyard for them to find at Easter

Local easter egg hunt (find 3 eggs in a set colour and trade in for goodies). Will likely do a National Trust one as well.

May try blowing eggs and decorating them.

I quite fancy the Easter Egg Hunt at a local vineyard this year. We'll have roast lamb that came from the field next door and dd3 and I will be making lots of chocolatey treats.. Eggs all bought and stashed. Dd will also be making little Easter treats for all our lovely neighbours - all empty nesters.

We're away for easier this year but we will be visiting a NT property for the easter egg hunt and also having a small egg hunt at the place we're staying. We'll probably be out and about every day over the long weekend and will arrive home more tired than when we set off!

I'm a teacher so it's lovely time off with dd, this year it's particularly special as it's time together before ds comes along. We just enjoy the start of the sunshine, wandering along the beach and she's just getting to the age where she sits still at a task for longer than 5 minutes so this year we will make Easter cards for the family and do an Easter egg hunt. We aren't religious so Easter will not really be a big deal here, we will enjoy watching her demolish her first Easter Egg this year though!

We'll be blowing eggs& decorating them. Then decorating some hard boiled eggs & rolling them down the hill in the local park as I used to do with my family when I was young :)

We are spending a lot of time at home this year as my son needs to have a lot of medicine. We will be doing lots of art and crafts together, reading books, watching our favourite films and generally getting to know one another again before he goes back to school!

We always go to my parents house for the day. Mum does a brilliant Easter themed treasure hunt, with rhyming clues.

Then we have a few glass of wine and a lovely lunch
