You may have noticed that Cadbury Dairy Milk Egg ‘N’ Spoon have been working with Mumsnet over the past couple of months in the run up to Easter. Now that Easter is almost upon us, Cadbury Dairy Milk Egg ‘N’ Spoon want to find out what Mumsnetters enjoy doing with their children around Easter time.

Cadbury Dairy Milk Egg ‘N’ Spoon have been celebrating those spontaneous joyful little moments parents share with their DCs. With Easter coming up in a couple of weeks Cadbury Dairy Milk want to know what you enjoy doing with your DCs in the run up to Easter or on Easter Sunday itself. Perhaps you decorate Easter eggs together? Or maybe you do an Easter egg hunt together on the morning of Easter Sunday? Whatever it is, we’d love to hear it.

Everyone who adds their comments to this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a £200 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

P.S. Cadbury Dairy Milk are encouraging Mumsnetters to get artsy this Easter and have come up with two how-to arts and crafts guides on what you can do with a left over Cadbury Dairy Milk Egg ‘N’ Spoon box. You can view the Larry the Lamb guide here, and the Easter Chick Basket here. What do you think of them? Is it something you'd try?

We always make the point of visiting one of our local National Trust properties, usually with friends, to do their annual Cadbury Easter egg trail. It's a good way to get my 14yo away from his playstation and into the fresh air!

I have a 2yr old and 3 yr old who are both v excited for the easter bunny already! We have an egg hunt in the house each year and also go to an egg hunt hosted in our village.

We will also be making easter cakes, and decorating biscuits for the family.

I absolutely love this time of year!

They love an Easter egg hunt. This year I might put a bit more effort in and do it round the neighbourhood as they are getting old enough to enjoy it.

Our town always does a walk of witness and an open air service on the Friday which I like to do.

It's a real family time for us so I love getting us together with extended family.

We normally do a national trust Easter Egg hunt at Whitwick Manor. This year we are heading down to the south west so we will search out a different NT hunt near there, we love them! But a (probably) windy walk along the beach will be involved plus some quality time with my parents. Looking forward to it.

My son has made an Easter tree at nursery, we had to send in blown eggs which they then decorated and put on branches of a little tree in a pot - it is very sweet. We will have a small Easter egg hunt in the garden with some chocolate eggs, having read others posts I think we will add clues and perhaps a map this year too now that my son is old enough to understand more. We will go out for a family walk - weather dependent and hopefully visit a National Trust Easter event or similar.

We do an egg hunt in the garden, go to the local village hall egg hunt and have a big dinner at ILs.
Crafts wise we make cards, decorate eggs to roll - last year we made ladybirds and this year it's sheep.
We will make Easter things from playdoh like chicks and bunnies too.
I may make an Easter cake too as I'm a cake maker by trade but equally I may be fed up with cake by then!

Our local farms hoodies a lovely Easter egg hunt so we like to do that every year. They have tractor rides and all sorts so its more than just a half hour thing. We tend to spend half a day there, then go feed the ducks/count the babies at the nearby pond!

Our best days are "adventures". Basically we pack the car with food, drinks, wet weather gear (!), maybe a ball and buckets (for fishing/collection) and improvise. We go down roads we have never been down before and pick up attractions or sites along the way. I let the children choose which way to go at each junction, so they think it's great fun!

I love having four days off as both me and DH work full time, so we can get some good family time in at easter.
My DS is a bit young for an easter egg hunt but we may try anyway. Other than that we're going to get outside for walks and go to some cheap and cheerful local attractions over the weekend.

We live near to Cadbury World and like to pop down to the shop over the Easter holiday, to stock up on Creme Eggs and on those little Raspberry Ruffle bars, if in stock.

The dc are too old for egg hunts/crafting etc now, but you're never too old for Creme Eggs!

We usually go to an organised Easter egg hunt sometime over the Easter weekend. The past few years we've gone to ones run by the National Trust and English Heritage, which have been a lot of fun. This year we have a group of friends and their small children visiting so I'm organising our own Easter egg hunt in a local wood with a 'treasure map' and easy clues. It should be fun!

We generally spend the Easter weekend visiting all our family, baking easter biscuits and chocolate cake, and then we have an easter egg hunt in the garden. I know it sounds crazy, but DH has a bunny outfit (randomly left over from a friend's stag do) and while the DCs are hunting for eggs and runs around the garden chasing them then disappears!!

My DCs are now 26 and 23 and both have steady partners yet we still do our silly little Easter egg hunt that we have done since they were little although it does have more than a touch of irony now! It gets harder and harder to find suitable clues and hiding places Grin Prizes include mini chocolate bars, sweeties and mini eggs with a crème egg each as the next to last then their Easter egg at the end

We make chocolate nests with obligatory mini eggs and fluffy chicks and always do an Easter egg hunt in the morning come rain or shine Grin

We like having an Easter Egg hunt. The DC love this; DH seems to get at least as much enjoyment from making up the map!

Easter usually marks the first sleep out of the year for us. Tents if it's freezing and wet, trampoline if it's warmer and dry...best star gazing nights ever!

Last Easter there was a really bad weather day and we'd run out of things to do, and DS had a broken leg so playing in the rain not much of an option. So we prepared a 'dinner party' for us, grandparents and a couple of friends. We made bread, 3 course meal, table decs etc. Took all day.

They loved it, and seemed to think it should be an Easter tradition, so we;re doing it again this year.

Easter marks the first proper use of parks for the year, so there will be lots of trips to parks in all parts of the city for us.

We do crafty things like baking Easter and spring-shaped biscuits (lambs, chicks, eggs, bunnies) before Easter. We make a Simnel cake a few days before Easter itself, to enjoy over the weekend. We always colour eggs but we live in Scotland so never get to hide them outside! - instead we hide the plastic ones the Easter Bunny leaves in our baskets around the house and this is great fun - my preschooler can do this for hours.

Now that my DS is 4, we'll be branching out and trying more things this year. We're going to make our own hot cross buns this year (he eats these year round, but homemade are nicer than Tesco's!) and also we'll be making our own paper mache eggs (with balloons, newspaper strips and homemade paste) which we can fill with treats. Should be lots of fun!

We do the usual Easter egg hunt too - and the best thing is that my two under-4's enjoy it so much that they then hide the eggs again, then find them again, then hide them again, then find them again... And so on. It can take hours! While I enjoy a cuppa and an egg myself. Everyone's happy.
