TalkTalk has asked us to find out how Mumsnetters enjoy their favourite TV.

Here’s what TalkTalk says, "Nothing beats sinking into the sofa, putting your feet up and switching off in front of your favourite TV show after a long day. But have you ever wondered what your TV favourites say about you?

We have created a fun quiz to help you find out. With YouView from TalkTalk now being Britain's fastest growing TV service, it's quickly becoming the home of family entertainment. We questioned families to uncover what the nation enjoys most about TV, and see how catch up, the ability to pause, rewind and record live TV, and instantly watch on demand movies, sport and kids programs have improved our viewing.

We found eight different types of TV viewers or 'TV Tribes' ranging from 'Family Guys' who enjoy nothing more than bringing the family together to watch their favourite programmes to 'Secret Viewers' who tell everyone they watch the likes of Newsnight but secretly revel in trash TV."

I am apparently 'the compliant'. I disagree... DP and I nearly always want to watch the same things and we don't watch things one of us doesn't. I pretty much own the remote! TV isn't a huge part of my life... Aside from the news, we only watch things like X factor or big brother. We have all the on demand services and can record things we want to see. I would prefer to record a series and watch it in a few days than wait for a new episode every week - so I definitely don't watch tv so I can talk about it with colleagues

Apparently I'm a social networker, description here--I watch quite a bit of television, of all kinds, but always with one eye on my computer screen or smartphone. I like to watch television as it is being broadcast whenever possible, and I take part in live debate on Twitter or Facebook, and go online to see what other people are saying about a programme. I also use the internet to look up information. I like to share my opinion and comment on the opinion of others.

I'm a compliant apparently - my husband has generally good taste in programmes & often finds good shows to watch that I wouldn't know about. So long as its not a film that's already halfway through, I don't really mind what we watch - the couple of things I like that he doesn't I record & watch later when he's out at work.

I'm not sure that I really agree with the diagnosis

Given that we solely use Netflix or stream online we only ever watch shows that we want to watch, there's no watching terrible programming or constant jibbering background noise.

I'm a me timer, I agree to a point I like to chill at the end of the day and watch tv , but it's not always just me some programmes are watched as a family others just me and hubby. We have a TiVo box so set up anything we like to watch up to record so just watch when we are free so don't really watch tv live, great to fast forward past the adverts too.

I am an elitist apparently. I mostly agree with it, I watch documentaries, don't watch reality tv and I don't watch tv for the sake of it.
The thing it was wrong on was the soaps. I record on my youview box the two soaps I watch so I can watch it in the evening and fast forward the adverts :)

I'm a me-timer.

Which is interesting as I ticked all of the boxes about watching with the family etc. Me time is a rarity.

But I would be, given the chance.

I'm a Social Networker. One eye on the tv, one eye online. I do look things up online while watching tv, amazing my other half with useless incredible facts and figures!

I am a Family Guy with routine shows and gathering of the whole family around the tv.... Not really I'd say. I like Downton Abbey, Call The Midwife and Mr Selfridge. I record them and watch at my leisure. I watch Casualty with my DH, we have done since we met 17 years ago.

I'm a me-timer, I kind of agree as I tend to download/watch Netflix, which I watch with dh (generally not on my own). I do hate, hate, hate children's programmes but don't mind children's films which we watch as a family.

I got the "Me-Timer" which is pretty accurate actually. My husband works away for weeks at a time so after a stressful day running around after the kids it's nice to be able to kick back and enjoy some relaxation time. Plus it's pretty much the only adult conversation I hear most days.

I got social networker and yes it very true I have had some really interesting discussions with people on Twitter about programs I have watched and often got very interesting points of view from others

I'm a secret viewer, apart from on mums net where I admit to all my crap viewing.

I got the Secret Viewer. I probably do watch more TV than I realise. Cbeebies is on a fair bit and we tend to stay in a lot with two DC under three.

As a family we watch CBeebies first thing to keep DD entertained whilst the rest of us wake up properly and get breakfast ready. We don't have Sky but gorge on athletics or top flight football when it is shown on the main channels. On weekday nights we graze on easy- watching property, cooking or panel quiz shows.

I often watch TV on a laptop or tablet with my headphones on and love to get stuck into a good TV drama, watching episodes back to back. I never miss an episode of my favourite shows."

Which is scarily accurate. I mean SPOT ON. There's nothing there that isn't 100% me.

Me and Netflix are best buddies and I am in bed right now, ipad and headphones on and am having a quick break from watching back to back Grimm episodes. If my DH dares interrupt I get quite cross.

I rarely watch TV with anyone else in the house as they have terrible tastes.

Aha! I am the 'Family Guy' - it's true in that I like to watch TV with people around because I like to talk about things as we watch... Yes, I'm one of the annoying people to watch TV with, I guess! I did grow up in a big family of 12 kids so there was always lots of people and we used to watch the weekend shows and be all excited and talky throughout.

Now, it's just me and my husband and we like to watch shows together. I still talk, much to his annoyance sometimes! And I'm always looking to people for their reactions to things. I like to talk about something online if everyone else is talking about it but usually I just see what other people think. We just don't watch the family stuff at the weekends now... I'm sure we will when our son is a bit older. We mainly just record the shows we want to watch and watch them when we want instead of waiting a week in between episodes!

I wouldn't say I can't imagine life without TV, though. I'm not that dependant on it but I do enjoy watching documentaries about animals and nature and politics-y stuff to learn things. My guilty pleasures are reality TV like Big Brother and I'm a Celebrity. My guilty guilty pleasure is Jeremy Kyle!!! Shhh... Other than that, favourites are things like The Walking Dead, American Horror Story, Modern Family... and all the comedy panel shows like 8 out of 10 cats, The Last Leg etc. My husband loves the wrestling and I've found myself becoming drawn to it over the years! I never thought that would happen haha

According to the quiz, I am The Elitist. I agree partially with it because I don't watch that much television. If I do then it's children's programmes (with the DC obviously), a comedy show here and there or some documentaries. I don't have programmes on in the background and dislike soaps, I think they are so pointless.

It's the first time I've been called elitist though, I prefer books to TV...

I'm an elitist, whatever that means! I do try to watch things I'm actually interested in rather than having TV as background noise. The only programme I see every day is In The Night Garden, not sure how elite that is!

I got family guy. I do think its accurate but I don't know what goggle box is! I like to watch the same programmes with my husband mainly so we sit down together without any jobs to do and we do often eat in front of the tv. I don't watch a lot of tv though and will often do something else when he starts to watch the American series he likes.

I'm a Family Guy, although I don't really watch the weekend blockbusters that it thinks I do. I'm usually catching up on what I have missed on TV from during the week.

I'm a Me timer which makes me laugh as i have five kids and when kids TV is finished and they are in bed i suppose thats what i do have Me time. I love a bit of TOWIE and Real Housewives after a day at work and running round after the kids.

I'm an elitist according to this. I am very selective about what I watch and I don't watch as much TV as I used to.

I am compliant - I suppose I recognise that as sometimes I have the TV on for company rather than actually watching it! My daughter is too little for the TV, but when it comes to it she will initially start watching things on the iplayer. My husband and I sometimes enjoy watching a series together, but we are both often doing something else after our daughter has gone to bed.
