I won't be posting about dd on here or the teen board(will still keep an eye out for any where I can advise though) this whole Daily Mail thing has made me feel very unsafe. some of the issues I would be talking about soon will make me very Identifiable, so I will stick to TTR and SKINUK where it is safer.

Why is it the only time I ever see a few moldies on here is when another of their gang is mentioned?

Funny that.

Flamesparrow · 16/08/2009 16:55

They are working on the whole private thing everyone seems to want. They are making calls tomorrow when they can actually speak to someone at the DM, and at the end of the day, Justine is going on holiday. After speaking with both her and Carrie at the Christmas do about how the whole GF screwed up their personal lives, I really don't think that they deserve it being made difficult again for the sake of pettiness.

Oh are you a Moldie Flamesparrow? I didn't realize...

Flamesparrow · 16/08/2009 17:01

As in your personal ones? Have they replied to you yet?

2shoes · 16/08/2009 17:01

I think its good to delete them if they offer the same to others

They are refusing others it would seem on the basis that it would be confusing when people search for conversations

I think it should be one way or the other

Flamesparrow · 16/08/2009 17:03

I'm not a Moldie. Never have been. I just care about people having to do more work for no reason.

Flamesparrow · 16/08/2009 17:05

When there have been posts refering to Xenia and who she is by her real name (as in connecting the two together), they are deleted as well.

TheDMshouldbeRivened · 16/08/2009 17:07

so the moldies don't mind her bugging us. Bet she doesn't lift their stuff...

2shoes · 16/08/2009 17:07

tbh I think it is silly to ask mn hq to delet posts, surely if "we" chose to put the info on the www that is our call, it is not up to mn hq to then delete them because "we" change our minds. the thing is now to be more care ful.
(I am using the royal we)

Work of that sort comes with the territory of running a forum I would suppose.

Am off to go out with the family. Will be following with interest later.

TheDMshouldbeRivened · 16/08/2009 17:08

well, I've reaslised how stupid I was. Hence wanting all posts refferiing to dd deleted.

LilyOfTheMountain · 16/08/2009 17:09

True FS, but then Riven should have that chance as well

You now, the work for no reason bit- DH is self employed as welland has spent the day trol;l chasing, albeit a freakoid Ebay stalker. It comes with the territory I think. We're aslo away tomorrow and will have tolocate a PC as ebay need us in touch over this

Is just the way

TheDMshouldbeRivened · 16/08/2009 17:13

you off tomorrow Lily? We'll be seeing you friday about lunchtime then. Will text on arrival.

Flamesparrow · 16/08/2009 17:14

They never have a problem with deleting all posts from a certain names. I dunno how much they weigh up with man hours though with just deleting specific posts.

Looking from a purely business point of view - one person emails me wanting just one nappy. That involves me editing stock for one nappy and sending out an invoice - not hard or much more work than just processing a normal order, I generally say yes (assuming that deleting all posts by one name is just a few buttons job).

Another person emails with a list of 20 nappies, all different types/colours/sizes - it takes me a hell of a long time to work through to get the site and the stock to balance out. I may like the person, they may be a stranger, but either way I tend to say no they have to deal with it themselves as it isn't worth the time and hassle my end.

Yes, it may be harsh, but it is just how it works.

LilyOfTheMountain · 16/08/2009 17:16

OK riven, will makesure its charged

You know FS, if they said honestly we can see your point but its so much work i'd get it; that's not the reason they are giving, they are saying it will leave holes in conversations.

Flamesparrow · 16/08/2009 17:26

I think that is them trying to be tactful - you know how the posts would be if they were honest. Tis a no-win situation. What would satisfy one person would have another up in arms.

I do feel slightly like I have turned into Pollyanna today , I may have hormone issues... I am normally much more "rargh! kill them all!!!"

TheDMshouldbeRivened · 16/08/2009 17:30

have you been on the hard stuff?

jemmm · 16/08/2009 17:37

I've worked on sites like this in the past Lily - in fact I'm building one as we speak - it's absolutely no effort at all to delete an entire users posting history.

Similarly, if I were given a single list of 100 posts that needed deletion - it wouldn't take that long.

They may worry that it might set some kind of precedent I guess.

2shoes · 16/08/2009 17:39

shall I ask for all mine to be deleted? maybe we all should

OP posts:
Flamesparrow · 16/08/2009 17:39

I've had a pint of boddingtons... twas looooooooooooovely

One person's list of 100 wouldn't take long.... 50 people's lists though? I would end up wanting to do it based on reasons why - which would lead to stonings when I didn't think people had enough reason

2shoes · 16/08/2009 17:50

but why should mn hq delet peoples post?
people choose to post, they choose to put themselevs out there, so unless they realise a mistake at the time, or are being stalked in rl, why would the post need to be deleted?

OP posts:
jemmm · 16/08/2009 18:04

Because the terms under which people thought they were posting have changed?
