Hi thank you very much for your reply, hopefully this is the case for me. But i reckon it will take longer then a few days with christmas. Do you know when they are back in the office by any chance? X

It’s open to call Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week but it depends if the DMS have taken leave over Christmas and the new year, UC is the same at the moment, I’ve been waiting 6 weeks for them to backdate the disability element, everything takes so long

Curlycookie5 · 23/12/2025 20:36

Emzi538 · 23/12/2025 20:22

Have you had dm letter yet?

Nope nothing at all, I thought it would have been all sorted before Christmas

Thank you! Its an absolute joke isnt it, i dont get why it should take so long when you know what rates your getting and you know the date you was awarded. It shouldnt take them that long to work out x

All I can think of is they sent the payment after 5 Friday maybe. I have COC on UC on 22nd so see how long this one takes x

They verified it on 1st December, I haven’t received the letter saying they are going to backdate it yet, it was marked as urgent on 11th after complaining but clearly there’s nothing urgent about it 🤦‍♀️

My daughter was verified on UC last week after going from mrc to HRC verified on Thursday got a letter yesterday of decision maker saying they'll backpay and adjust previous statements so theres people still working

Hello, anyone else NC scan date 26/11 or around that date heard anything? I received the generic letter 10 days after scan date stating it will be a 15 week wait for decision to be made but not heard anything else. I've seen others awarded around that date but obviously I'm not expecting anything until after new year now. Happy holidays :)

SixInTow · 27/12/2025 18:16

@T773 our NC -SD 10/12 so a bit later than you. I had a phone call on 23/12 saying they were processing the claim that day and hopefully should have it sorted by the new year. Haven’t received a letter though.

I also have NC scan date 26/11. I haven't heard anything either & also think wont hear anything until new year. Just been trying to forget about it for now whilst its christmas and new year. Fingers crossed for our children that they get the decision they deserve.
We could be lucky and wake up monday with backpay in our account-wishful thinking 😂
If you hear anything please let me know as we both waiting on same date x

Ooo I see, I didn't know THEY call to say claim is being processed, that's a new one for me. I called them about 3 weeks after scan date and that's when they told me claim was being processed but not with decision maker yet. Knowing DLA it could well be with the DM later that day to be honest. I hope you get the outcome your child deserves, do keep us posted :)

Yes no hope now until after new year, I haven't really been thinking about it (although I should as it took me over 2 years to muster up the courage to fill out the form due to my own struggles) but I am seeing lots of positive and quick outcomes for recent new claims so just made me wonder if anyone else might be same SD as mine and heard anything as quick as these other NCs. And yes that Monday morning surprise would be very much welcomed before the new year 😄😄 good luck and i will post an update as and when xx

So my 10 year old daughter was refused yesterday. Apparently you can only claim dla if you need help with personal care, bodily functions etc. She has encopresis. I have to wipe her bottom when she manages to get to a toilet, which is rare as is so sticky, like tar. An when she doesn't manage to I have to help her bath, clean herself up, clean up after her, change her bedding. She has stool softners everyday, and I have to sit with her in the bathroom after our evening meal every night or she won't stay there. Plus i have to deal with her the hiding soiled underwear when she does have accidents. We are in the process of a second clear out as although shes been suffering for a while, we only got a diagnosis in november as she refused to go the GP as she was embarrased so its all new to us. So frustrating. Is it worth doing a MR i have her consultant report from her appointment in november, she has also recently (within the last 4 weeks) been put on a SEN plan at school, although i don't yet have a copy of this as it has come through the post ? How long are MR's taking at the moment? Thank you xx

Did she get declined on the grounds of needing help with personal care/toileting even though she does require help? If so then I would appeal- although I have seen people do a NC again instead of MR on the basis they are being done alot quicker then MR xx

Princessmom222 · 29/12/2025 13:00

Just called to check if my NCs have been marked as priority and they have. He told me i should get a decision by end of next month and if not to call back then. 19 weeks and counting now. 22 weeks for COC and 24 weeks for my MR. The wait is well and truly getting to me.

I haven't heard from them today. When did you report the change and request back pay? My daughter was verified on 9th December and request of back pay was sent to decision maker the following day. I chased this up twice before christmas to be told both times theres no time scale and they can't do anything to speed up the process. The disabled element has been added for the latest pay but no update on if they agree to back pay or the amount.

I've had the letter of the decision maker on 22nd saying they'll adjust statements and calculate backpay they haven't adjusted anything yet or sent another letter saying how much I'm owed. There just a joke it was all done in one day last time

One of my twins started getting MRC and LRM last year when on the pathway for various needs. I did a COC in June as she has since been diagnosed with Autism, combined ADHD, is under Moorfields eye hospital for visual impairments, she is also now under the LA’s Vision impairment teaching team, has poor eyesight, suffers from double vision, can’t see more than 6m’s and is hyper mobile with other needs ( evidence through her OT) She needs so much support and help, especially to keep her safe and I sent so much evidence/hospital evidence! Yet they told me today they’ve kept her award the same as before any diagnosis? I’m so shocked . Her twin sister has combined ADHD and has been given HRC which I wasn’t expecting tbh. Both need help/ support at night. More so twin 2 as she also has very poor night vision. Am I missing something?!

I’m still waiting too, I notified them on 12/11 and did the change, on 1/12 they verified my daughter high rate and it’s on my December payment, complained around 11/12 and told it was sent as urgent to the dm still nothing on 19/12 so messages and they said it’s with a dm and still nothing since, I’ve not even had a letter saying they are going to backdate her disability element yet, it’s taking forever. Your in the same situation as someone else on here they’ve had the letter saying they will backdate weeks ago but still hasn’t received payment or adjusted the previous awards
