Bless him, he must really love his chicken! My oldest daughter is the same as your son with food and seriously overeats too. Have to watch her all the time as she would eat until she popped if i let her. The carrying is the worst isnt it, especially when my hips are messed up as it is and then having to carry them everywhere its just so painful. I really get how you feel about getting the evidence and waiting for appointments, everything seems to take a ridiculous amount of time and then struggling to get the right support is super hard. I struggled with my oldest until the last two years. Luckily my twins have been under a neonatal paediatrician since they were born and then refered to another paediatrician for follow on care.
I hope he gets to see the right people soon and your able to get all the evidence you need. Xx

he really does heavy on the pop lol I just no the kids at nursery hate to see him coming at lunch time haha not really he has a 1-1 the kids are safe 😮‍💨yes the pains oh god not easy at all…aw least they stuck with u make the evidence a whole lot easier that’s the thing with me don’t even have gp back up because we’ve never seen them specifically about the tism the health visitor st 2 year review put in referrals and we just been going from there lol we’ll probs have a verdict in another 24 weeks 😂x

Charm11 · 16/12/2025 21:51

Hi my MR for my sons DLA was 10/6 called for the first time today and said its with a case manager. Does anyone know how how long it roughly takes? And does it go to someone else after or they make a decision? Any June MR's came back yet?

Lol bless him he sounds amazing bless him! Thats awful, i really hope you are able to get the help and support you need asap as it would really help you!
We have been extremely lucky to get the support a lot quicker with the twins. We have an inclusion support officer helping us get the help and support for when they start nursery in january too. They are going to have a limited timetable of one morning a week as it will be too much for them!
I hope its not too long for you and the wait times will come down for MR and COC. Im 19 weeks into COC and 23 weeks into MR for my other daughter too. The waiting is so stressful and i feel so sorry for you that you waited all that time for nothing to change its awful xx

You know what he is as challenging as he is sometimes I have to be greatful as it could be so much worse!! And honestly that’s all we need just abit more support never been one to try take more than I need and it is needed, aww that would be good for them and you give u a little break and hopefully there days will get extended hope they have lovly teachers I cannot fault my sons there all so lovly and proper take care of him and his sister I have no support worker involved at the moment a little confused on how u get one and I’ve asked lol that’s what I’m thinking now because I expected the 30+ weeks for the coc like most people so to only do the 24 shows it must be coming down praying for a quick outcome just really sucks cause I could have been getting the back pay before Christmas then wouldn’t need to hold back on anything for him he needs loads of sensory toys and right now his mid rate is only covering half the travel costs for the month 😭😭proper stressful but the fight is not over yet lol x

Would love for her to be able to get anything she wanted ❤️

Yeah i know what you mean, i didnt even know you could get dla for your autistic children and only applied 2 years ago for my oldest. The cost of everything is so much and if your child is entitled to the help you should definitely take the help as it only benefits them in the long run. I got mine through my health visitor so maybe see if you can make an appointment to see her and ask her to be refered for one. They do help in ensuring everything is right for your child and the school have the right tools to be able to help your child thrive.
It seems like they must be coming down a bit for everyone, hopefully they keep up with it and everyone else who is waiting is able to get seen too quicker. I hope your MR doesnt take too long for you and your able to get the support for him. I know what you mean about the sensory toys as they do really help autistic children. I was hoping to be able to buy some new cots for my twins as they seem to keep hurting themselves on the ones they have got. I feel like they need some specialist cots to prevent them being able to harm themselves. But the cheapest ones ive seen are lile 700 each and i just dont have that sort of money xx

Princessmom222 · 17/12/2025 10:43

Just rang DLA to let them know i have an extra piece of evidence and he told me to get it in ASAP as mine is very close to being looked at. He said i should get a decision this week but if i dont hear anything this week it will definitely be the week after christmas.
Am i over thinking everything or does this all sound promising?

kenadams5 · 17/12/2025 12:36

do we call DLA to request a COC? Is there a form to fill out or is it done over the phone? I think DD should be entitled to HRC rather than MRC as she is up constantly in the night and has to be supervised as she has no sense of danger or communication and has PICA meaning you have to watch her like a hawk to make sure nothing goes in her mouth. She’s 3 in April and last night as an example she went to sleep at midnight and woke up at 4am. We’ve had to change nursery times as she was never awake. We’ve tried waking her still in the morning and it was awful, she would just scream and headbang due to tiredness/frustration. Me and DH are exhausted. I don’t know how he’s functioning at work in all honesty.

Yes you have to ring up and request a COC form, but if awarded HRC they will backdate to the date you requested the forms. Your daughter sounds just like my twins who are 3, they are up near enough all night every night and only sleep four hours a day. They do the headbanging and nut things and people when they are distressed. I am currently waiting on there new claims and im hoping for HRC for them both. I will be doing a MR if they get MRC as i know they should be entitled to high. I will let you know my outcome, it is always nice to have a little hope that you can get the same outcome.

My daughter has pica and I understand the feeling she stims a lot through the day with her legs waiting on autism diagnosis through the hospital my daughter got awarded hrc start of December she’s had just turned 3 at the end of November

Nope not a thing 🙄 it’s taking forever, I did the change of circumstances on 12/11, it was verified on 1/12 then complained and was told it would be sent as urgent on 11/12, I’ve not even received the letters saying they’ve agreed to it yet so I think you will receive back pay before me, have you looked to see if they have updated your previous awards? I wonder if they have sent the letter and back pay to you on the same day?

Premtwinsmummy77 · 16/12/2025 14:00

Hi all. Called up last week and was told one of my twins COC (scan date June18th) award has stayed the same. However, after speaking to someone today, I’ve been told that none of her evidence that I’ve been sending in to them since July last year has been seen! I was told to put my national insurance number on her paperwork and apparently this has meant it’s been scanned in under my name not hers?! I did also put her full name and DOB on the paperwork. Has anyone had this happen before? I’ve been told it has to go back to her decision maker to view the evidence as a decision was obviously made without all her evidence (there is a lot!) I wondered how long that may take?
Also if they still decide to keep her award the same, what are my next options? Many thanks

Edited

This happened to me with my daughter MR they attached it to my claim as I put my NI at the top and hers at the bottom. It’s with her claim now but dunno if this will delay further x

I hate the lack of response or lack of set time frames from them!
I did call them earlier, went through security q etc told her why I was calling and the line went dead! Ugh
