Hi, does anyone know how UC usually take to calculate and pay backpay? The change was verified same day but went to decision maker about back pay.

Lcd3991 · 15/12/2025 12:57

COC SD 20/06 decision made last thursday gone from MRC to HRC & LRM awarded for 9 years. If your COC after me hopefully it wont be much longer for you. Good luck everyone

Mamamilchris · 15/12/2025 13:09

Well I just got my answer in the post
NC scan date 11/11
It was rejected completely.
I'm gonna have a think over Christmas about the next stage. But I'm leaning towards making a completely new application so I can include a lot more evidence, especially as MR's are taking so long!!
We saw Cahms again on Monday last week and they've referred my daughter on for CBT and we're waiting for an autism/ADHD assessment.
I'll probably press the school to start the EHCP process in January as well so that may help evidence her self harm, suicidal ideation and anxiety.

Good luck to all the people waiting and hopefully you get a positive answer before Christmas.

MR SD 20/06 decision made today HRC LRM for two years so il be doing a bloody renewal before I even know it haha! But anyway just relived for my son I could honestly cry it’s been a full year of fighting for him.

plus how you can go from no award to HRC on the same evidence is a bit baffling. Not that I’m complaining I had fully prepared myself for the worst!

So happy for you mines the 16/6 hopefully I’ll hear soon just want to know regardless what the outcome is least you can relax and enjoy Xmas and the new year now ☺️

Hello can I ask what evidence you sent? My daughter has been referred for Asd/Adhd. She has been going to cahms since June. I’ve got a report so far from cahms which says about her self harm and they have seen the evidence of it etc. I have applied for a echp myself as the school just keep disregarding when I say it even tho she has high levels of support in school already. I only sent the copy of her being referred. I am going to send this report her scan date is 24/11 I hope I can get it in before they do her claim. What date does your letter have on? X

My Daughters nursery applied for her EHCP when she was 3 its drafted but still not finalized after nearly 2 years so you'll be both in for the long haul, i was told its all over the country that's affected not just one area.

Hi how did you ask for back pay was it after they verified your child or do they just automatically do it x

I just put a note in my journal requesting it be back paid to the date the dla was awarded. They don’t automatically do it after it’s verified so you do have to request it. Apparently it can be turned down but worth asking, as it takes that long for the decision! X

Yes it’s hard to word when of course it’s great to see people awarded quickly, but when your in the thick of a six month wait it feels so unfair, I get you completely!

fingers crossed you get the outcome your LO deserves soon as poss xx

Yeah it is really hard to word it! And thank you so much, i hope they do too! Xx

Im so sorry that it was rejected, could you not do a MR and add the new evidence to it?

Did the letter say what date your decision was made?

I didn't really have a lot of paper evidence. Every time we see the crisis team she's already harmed and nearly healed so the moment is passed and they discharge her

The letter was dated 8th December so I've got a few weeks to get an MR done if I go that way.

It’s 3-5 working days so you will get it between Wednesday and Friday

Tirednamechange · 16/12/2025 11:53

Does anyone know how long it takes to scan forms on? I'm about to have a breakdown I think, sent a renewal form and a COC form last week seperately as dla advised I should. I sent them with dpd through the post office. They were out for delivery on Friday. One has apparently been lost and the other has been delivered twice which dpd is saying is a mis scan. I don't even know which they are saying is lost. Dla said 3 weeks to scan?! I could cry I'm mid fight for a school placement and now I might have to redo a form as well. I'm praying they did deliver both but scanned one twice but not sure when dla will know.

Fenfen23 · 16/12/2025 12:05

Mine was done 2 weeks after I sent them in

Hi silent watcher here, just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has posted - reading this thread has been a life saver.
I applied for a COC 11th July
Scan date 17 July
2 text messages received

received a text that child qualifies for DLA on the 14th December
Called today (option 4) and was advised that decision was made on 14th
changed from MRC to HRC and LRM !
was originally hoping for HRM but happy with the outcome.

hopefully the decisions come through ! ❤️
