Aww that must be awful for you both, is she at a special needs school?
My sons just been accepted for ehcp today so I’m absolutely chuffed and he’s only 4 ino a lot of people can struggle to get them so I’m super greatful.

yes I planned to go back to work when the twins were 2 but I knew something was up from birth and yeah they get older it gets harder theres no energy for a job on top of that can u imagine having to ring in almost everyday sorry can’t come in my child’s been up stimming all night and I’ve had 30mins sleep or sorry have to leave work and collect my child who needs me not going to last 5 minuets lol the anxiety alone lol.

anyway will deffo keep u posted I think I will call them next week as I have a question about my daughters form anyway I can slip in the coc lol x

No, but she is going to a special needs high school. That is fantastic news, they are super hard to get. My oldest has an EHCP and my second daughter had hers finalised today. But getting them wasnt an easy process!

I went back to work when they was 1. And did a year but it was super hard work, im like you ive known since they was about 3 months something wasnt right. But i was like you said always leaving work early and always calling in. I was so drained too, im still draimed now, just dont have the added pressure of work.

And definitely do, i am not calling anymore as they said theyll text when a decision is made.

Coc 26th august. Completely fed up like the rest of you waiting.... had to stop working at the end of August as managing DDS multiple appointments and medical needs became too much. Been looking for part time work around my husband but struggling to find anything

My COC was only done this week from 22nd April! 32 weeks it’s such a long wait. I know exactly how how you feel I’ve cut my hours twice now to look after my son as nobody can care for him and there’s no special needs childcare, his dad also left as he couldn’t cope and it caused arguments so it’s just me now trying to support my son and a teenager! It’s brutal! I’m praying you don’t have to wait too long xx

I know weve got a much longer wait! Hope your COC outcome reflected your child's needs. My.work wouldnt let me change my hours, I was due.to start a new job but then my daughter had a new diagnosis in the week leading upto it. We can use the school wrap round provision.but ive no support outside of that. DD is 5 and picks up on relatives saying they dont know how to help. None of our local school holiday clubs can support her needs. She has.missed at least 1 day a week school since September either due to illness or appointments. It is brutal. I feel for you doing it alone that must be very tough!

Im looking for new work again but no one seems to be able to offer the flexibility you need as a parent of a sen child. I was so low mentally in my old job, and just couldn't keep on in a situation where I was feeling i wasn't on top of DDs health or my work life. Fingers crossed you hear soon too x

Thank you I was more than happy well more relieved with the outcome.
my sons school don’t have a wrap around or anything like that, no family are willing to help but he has no understanding of it. It’s literally just me.
It’s hard enough being a working Mum in ‘normal’ circumstances never mind support a child with additional needs! There’s just not enough support it’s a shame.
work have been good with me I’ve worked for the NHS for 18 years pretty much since I left school but even they are cracking down on flexible hours ect x
