Still waiting COC scan date 22nd April :( so frustrating! I’m on hold now for an update, 32 weeks now!

I hope this is the case with mine 🤞 my next payment is due next week. They have verified my child the same day they sent the review and asked for bank statements, did they call you after you sent the bank statements before they finishing it?

Have they finished your review without providing bank statements? Congratulations on your child’s award, hopefully your back payment will be sorted before Christmas

My SD for COC is 06/05 30 weeks on Tuesday past, I’m calling today too, let us know how you get on please as that’s the longest I’ve seen someone wait for a COC X

They’ve just cut me off after waiting for 50 mins! Last time I called it was with a decision maker that was Thursday last week. I’m going to call tomorrow now I can’t do another 50 mins x

That’s a joke, a call handler I had a few weeks ago straightaway asked if it was a NC, I said no then they said well if your a COC you’ll just have to wait and see and cut me off. Didn’t ask for my details to check, I was livid, especially when they take so long to answer😬 my COC was originally an MR that they sent to COC team and last week I called and they told me that I had to fill out a COC form and I should have been contacted by them months ago to tell me because the DM wouldn’t be able to make a decision if it’s not on a COC form, so I’m dreading mine taking longer and not being done before Christmas, I’ve been waiting since middle of March🙈X

I don’t know they haven’t asked for bank statements as of yet they just put a todo on my jornal a check & confirm your claim details

Yeah I’ve had a lady like that too didn’t ask any details just hung up!! So last time I rang I said can I check the new evidence is scanned in as they lost his echp originally! It’s honestly so frustrating, I have been waiting a year in total as I rang for the forms for mobility when my son was 5! That was November last year I had to call 3 times they finally sent my forms in March.

Yes they did, asked me a few questions about payments from my dad, brother and mum. Also asled me about a couple of payments that go out. These were my car insurance and car finance. Mines still not been finished though which makes me worry a bit.

I hope yours get sorted and you finally get your back pay. My review has been going on a month now.

I’m normally quite patient but I’m honestly so fed up now and just wanted this to be over with before Christmas, it was 26 weeks wait for my little ones NC that was September 2024 and that was awarded in March and I only done the Mr to send in late evidence for his sleep as he prescribed melatonin the day the decision was made but they sent the mr to COC team on the 06/05, I feel for you I feel like the past year and a half has been a constant waiting game🥹 this backlog has made a lot go wrong and it doesn’t seem to be getting any better🙈X

That’s so frustrating I can’t believe they made you do a change of circumstances when it was that close to the original decision! I know I sent my sons ehcp with the original form and they then asked for it on 20th nov! So it has clearly been lost. I also waited over 20 weeks for NC now they’re taking 2 weeks only! But here I am still waiting for mobility decision, they are actually supposed to send out the form 6 weeks before the child is 5 but they didn’t. It’s draining isn’t it

I’ve rang back and spoke to a lovely girl! decision made yesterday, he was already getting HRC I applied for mobility and they’ve awarded HRM for 11 years! Backpay on Tuesday. She literally went through all the rates told me new rates from April what my payments would be ect.
im so relieved I’ve been crying I’m so glad it’s sorted! I can’t even explain how much this is going to help my son!

Ive called multiple times since May and they decide to tell me last week that I need to fill the form out, really frustrating😥 my evidence I sent with the Nc was never returned last year and is now lost😔 Ive done the MR for care as he gets LRC just now but on the Mr form I done there was a few things about mobility I sent evidence for as his health visitor is worried about his mobility but when I’ve done the COC form last week I’ve done both as he has mobility issues but because he is 4 I can’t see anything being awarded for mobility but I’ll fight for that when he’s 5. good luck and let me know how you get on when you call tomorrow, I’m going to see what time I have to call today and I’ll let you know what they say X

It’s crazy they tell you not to ring but when you ring they say you need to do this and that! If I hadn’t of rang I wouldn’t have known they had requested more evidence as a letter never came!! So I would still be sitting here waiting none the wiser! Yeah definitely push for mobility at 5, I applied thinking he would get low mobility as he wasn’t awarded high the first time and obviously you can get that under 5 so I’m in shock they’ve awarded him high, but his ehcp and last doctors letter both say risk to life when out and about ect. I mean bless him he has zero understanding he doesn’t even know his name so I’m not shocked he’s entitled just shocked it’s been awarded if that makes sense lol! I’m just relieved it’s over it’s been a long bloody year!!! I hope you’re not waiting too long!!

SD 06/05 COC
I've just called and my little one was awarded MRC, I’m going to do an MR but Im confused because the call handler said she can see the award and the amount of £857 that should be in my bank by the 9th but 30 weeks from LRC to MRC is 1342 and a letter was sent out yesterday for that but she’s said there’s also been another decision letter this morning and a new letter sent out today so I don’t know if they’ve made a mistake in award or the back pay amount is wrong but I’ll call tomorrow and see what they say X

Oh wow congratulations at least thats something after all this time. Im so sorry that you need to do a MR after all this time! But at least it some extra money for your child for the time being. X

Yeah happy he has been awarded higher just confused on the backpay as it doesn’t add up, I asked her what the letter was that was sent this morning but she couldn’t tell me so I’m just hoping they’ve at least sorted the back pay and made a mistake with the amount X

I hope they have realised too so you dont have to fight for the backpay. I am so happy though that your not having to wait until after christmas for a decision and now you can chill out a little. Obviously i know your doing a MR but it must be a big stress relief! Hopefully with you doing a MR it might go in your favor again!

They could have even changed their minds and changed it to HRC. And i do hope it is that for you! Xx

Yes 😮‍💨from experience I find people sly hate on you because your getting extra money not actually realising we would rather have “normal” children and they can keep there money!! It is so hard I didn’t want to put in for my daughter at first but the older she gets the worse she is getting and it just make you feel like your been greedy.

thats what I’m aiming for my son change to hrc and hrm which ino that part is super hard to get sigh I honestly feel like that’s why they don’t accept videos and stuff as evidence because then they would be saying yes to a lot more people.

I 100% agree with you, i would much rather my children not have to go through what they do and not struggle. On numerous occassions i have had mothers at school judging me because my daughter has smashed up the full classroom in frustration because she cant verbalise whats wrong with her.
I was exactly the same as you, i have worked all my adult life but had to quit my job because i was constantly called into school everyday for at least one, maybe two of my daughters. And their needs was just getting too much i was just exhausted all the time. Working all day with SEN children and then coming home and having my 5 was just too hard. So i decided to apply as we was just struggling financially and all of the extra stuff they need is way too expensive.
Im not applying for one of my daughters as her needs arent great enough and she doesnt need it at all. But if that changes i will apply.

My sons just been accepted for ehcp today so I’m absolutely chuffed and he’s only 4 ino a lot of people can struggle to get them so I’m super greatful.

yes I planned to go back to work when the twins were 2 but I knew something was up from birth and yeah they get older it gets harder theres no energy for a job on top of that can u imagine having to ring in almost everyday sorry can’t come in my child’s been up stimming all night and I’ve had 30mins sleep or sorry have to leave work and collect my child who needs me not going to last 5 minuets lol the anxiety alone lol.

anyway will deffo keep u posted I think I will call them next week as I have a question about my daughters form anyway I can slip in the coc lol x
