Thanks hun, I think I'm going to call, its been with a DM for a week now, others have had their decision on the same day, I'm so worried they are going to decline and change the rates as well, this is all just so stressful

Good luck! X

Scaffwife · 22/10/2025 09:07

MR 17/4 - just called still in the queue 🤦🏽‍♀️

Good luck, I think there is a March date the week behind you still waiting, they put her COC in the wrong pile

Just called and got straight through, decision was made on Monday and it was declined. He read the decision letter out to me and it doesn't mention anything about SMI, its all about his walking, so I don't understand. I've asked for a statement of reason and he is sending that out to me and the paperwork to complete an MR. I'm absolutely gutted, but atleast now I know and can move forward, just another 6 month wait!

Yes that is me. I am the 24th March. I called late Monday and wasn't assigned to anyone.

Kittieflies · 22/10/2025 10:07

Would love your thoughts... MR 3rd April
Called twice last week and was told it was with a decision maker. Called again this Monday to be told it was in the queue and was never with a decision maker. He told me my scan date was the 16th October which I questioned- saying I did it in April. He then changed his mind confirming the 16th April and agreed he would change it to 3rd April as he could see that was the correct date stated on the letter.
Called again today and the lady said exactly the same thing - it's still in the queue to be looked at and my scan date is the 16th October! I said that's last week! I confirmed i did an MR in April! She then got all flustered and said oh no no sorry that's an internal date I can see it's the 3rd April.

Anyone think they've actually made a decision on the 16th October and are refusing to tell me or that for some reason something has gone wrong and my MR date has somehow been moved to the 16th October? Or any other theories?

Can I please add
I did make a complaint after being told on Monday it was with a decision maker by a call handler at 30 weeks
on Tuesday to find out it wasn’t and still in holding queue and I raised a complaint for his manager to call me back yesterday morning 2 hours later to apologise and she had listened to the call and fully understood how wrong he was and he has been made fully aware of his actions and I stated that they work for the government and given out false information

to then she pushed my claim thou to a dm and was completed same day

please be aware so of these call handlers are full of s@it

got results in end

Wow! They really do know how to make more work for themselves hey!
I've not called for 27 weeks and then called 5 times in the last few weeks as I keep getting told different things and it's really making me anxious!
I'm not going to call again for a while and just try and put it to the back of my mind.
Really happy you received a good outcome x

No 🤦‍♀️ I’m so sorry it hasn’t gone the right way for you! That’s so bad! Definitely do a MR and keeps gathering evidence, did you do a statement with the smi tests in the end? One thing I wish I had done is highlight the evidence in the reports I used to back up my smi test. Keep fighting you know what your child is entitled hopefully you will get the right award with your MR 😞

cloudxo · 22/10/2025 17:46

MR scan date 28/05 received a call from the decision maker around an hour ago. She was extremely blunt and dismissive of my daughter’s age and I felt like she really didn’t give me much room to speak. Why an earth would you feel the need to repeats 100 times all 2 year olds need help with changing/ bathing ect (she’s nearly 3) when you can clearly see she has been awarded equipment from OT and OT has make decision that our home is unsafe for our child’s need. Nursery struggling with funding and only have her one hour a week due to lack of staff for 1-1 (EHCP in process) sleep specialist reports, support letters from portage, paediatricians. I’m so upset I feel so dismissed. I’ve been fighting this for a year advocating for my child for the sake to be over spoken and shut down for 20 minutes straight and they more than likely another decline. I’m so tired of this.

The only way I can work this out is that they haven’t backdated to when you called for forms. From your scan date it works out perfectly for HRC and LRM. Congratulations.

Thank you! Yes I was really confused trying to work it out. I’ve phoned them and they said I didn’t send in the sheet with the dates which I definitely did and that id have to do a MR to change the date. Think I’ll take my loses with that.

You would think so 😵‍💫 31 weeks is so long! It seems really quiet on here and with decisions at the moment and then next week is half term for us so I wonder if dms will be taking time off and the wait will go up even more.

Can I ask what evidence did you send in for smi? Currently going down that route was this a renewal or coc?

NC are getting done a lot faster. If you have more evidence to send in they generally say you have 30 days when a decision is made to send of any extra evidence.

Is that just for new claims or does it include COCs too?
Do they change decisions if extra evidence is received within 30 days?
