I saw someone say the other day that if you get declined for COC and send in additional evidence with 30 days of the decision that they will look at it again as a COC, does anyone know if this is correct?

I'm going to call tomorrow and see if I can find out, if I get an answer, I will let you know. It will save us having to wait another 6 months!

Daryl54 · 23/10/2025 18:42

Hi @Harrysmummy2016 I’ve also read this think it was on face book they will give you 30 days for extra evidence but am not a 100% sure xx

When I said I was waiting on further letters they did say I could send it in as late evidence

Princessmom222 · 23/10/2025 19:04

@Irongirl71 have you heard anything this week? Im getting so impatient now, especially seeing loads after our dates awarded. Definitely true about it being different wait times for twins!

DKebab29 · 23/10/2025 20:32

Hi everyone. Sent our MR 4 weeks ago so have a long wait ahead! Did you all get a text/letter to say they had received your information? I did when sent in for NC but haven’t heard anything since sending MR. Don’t know whether to call or not!

Please do not give up and start over. This is what they want! I know it is hard but take it to tribunal and you will most likely win and get back pay for over a year. Do not give up!!

Daryl54 · 23/10/2025 21:38

@ST1234 it’s so hard isn't it, it’s just the stress of it all and waiting for a long time ❤️xxx

Is that even after you've been declined?
I'm waiting on my statement of reasons so I can do a MR, but if I can send in late evidence so I don't have to do the MR, I'll try and do that

Don't give up tribunals have more success rates than MR. I understand the waiting is stressful but when it's successful it will go to from the original scan date they are trying to save money at our children's expense by stopping these claims. Since yours was refused I have already looked into the tribunal forms just incase mine isn't successful. You can fill out your tribunal form statement part like you are doing new claim all the details but without the form giving reasons why you disagree. You got this 🤞

Daryl54 · 24/10/2025 07:03

Thankyou @Katelou89 I don’t even know where to start do I phone them to say am appealing now I have me letter. What happens after that. Or do I go online meself I’m not sure what the next steps are to do. Xxx how long have you been waiting for now is yours MR or COC am glad I have you guys on here to talk too xxx

Once you have your letter with the reasons go online and fill out form sscs1 this will start the tribunal process, if you want you can inform them you are starting the process but I don't think this is mandatory.
My advice is to write it out on a word document first then you can edit it when reading over then copy and paste on the forms when you are ready.
Mine was a declined renewal my son went from hrc lrm to nothing MR scan date 17/4. My son has complex neurological FND, adhd asd and Tourettes everyday is a new challenge.

It's so stressful but please don't. They have to justify to the courts why they decided a child who had HRC is now entitled to nothing! And they often lose at tribunal. I would say gather all evidence dated before the decision and hand it over to them with a strong parent statement. Try to get it in as the 30 days evidence we have all heard about. If they still don't accept, take it to tribunal and gather evidence and statements from people who know/look after/have worked with your child.
Don't lose out on a backdate, especially since your child clearly fit the criteria before!

They have to send you a letter with the reasons of decline this will have a reference number that you put in the tribunal form fingers crossed it comes soon for you x

Daryl54 · 24/10/2025 09:10

Thankyou so much guys ❤️ i appreciate the reply’s of use. I know i just don’t know how they do when a child’s needs are still the same xxx

silent reader!!
and I’m having a Rant!!

I’ve discussed this with Dla!!

mobility

my child is smi but still receiving lrm!’
due to walking but refusing at times then the meltdowns

if a child can walk, but displays behavioural issues, Ie throws themselves on floor, road, pavement, refuses to move, bolts, shows flight, climbs out windows, runs into other houses, Stimming and no control or no awareness of danger and needs constant supervision
then can be awarded low rate mobility
(Evidence is needed)

Hrm is extremely difficult to get and clamping down

the amount I’ve read who discuss there annoyance in the system the questions asked
then a few on fb who can I get a car on LRM

how does the car option work on HRM
before even being awarded!!

Mumofthree1989 · 24/10/2025 09:49

COC SD 12/05 claiming for HRM - declined.
RENEWAL current claim due to end 19/12 but it’s been changed and HRC awarded until 2032!! Backdated from 23/04. I am beyond relieved!! Despite not getting the mobility, I am relieved my girl got the right award for care!
