it’s so frustrating I don’t think the have from what she read out. We get lrm lrc. He was on hrm med and on renewal it went down to that. Which was a big difference. Definitely going to have to try the mr.

Yes definitely do a MR if he was on high rate before, I don’t see how they think a child can change from being high needs to not 🤦‍♀️

Decision made this morning.
She has gone from MRC to HRC backdated to March and then is being awarded LRM from next month when she turns 5, now I’m in a dilemma because I was going to do a MR if she didn’t get HRM but they’ve given her a 7 year award and I’m not sure I want to mess it up 😵‍💫

Ah that’s brilliant news! I’ve been keeping an eye on the thread and hoping you would find out soon 🤗
Does anyone know much about the Universal Credit side of things? I informed them as soon as I got the letter that dd went from MRC to HRC, they updated the payment quickly, but it’s gone to an independent decision maker to decide if we can get it backdated. What’s the likelihood that they will accept? They said it would take a minimum of 4 weeks. I’d be gutted if they didn’t, I’m hoping to pay for private therapy with it.

Thank you, I’m happy the wait is finally over, it felt like forever. With uc they will backdate it because it’s a change that we didn’t know about until the day Dla made the decision. If they’ve already applied it to your most recent payment then I don’t think you will be waiting 4 weeks. But as soon as you do receive the letter saying they are backdating it should only take a few days to reach your bank.

They seem to be going to dm at 31 weeks, I was 8/4 and a decision was made Wednesday morning and 9/4 decision was made Wednesday aswell, good luck I would imagine if you call Wednesday they would have made the decision for you on the Tuesday.

Good luck. We went from MRC to HRC and LRM ( from next month ) and was awarded til her 12 birthday so a 7 year 7 month award. I’m just glad the wait is over, it’s a long time isn’t it 😵‍💫

Sorry not sure what happened there but that’s amazing so glad for you. It really is such a long time so many mixed emotions I really hope I get a positive outcome and haven’t got to do another wait again

i think your the closest to my SD 06/05 but I seen some on FB with SD 29/04 got a back payment yesterday so we could get our decision hopefully between now and the end of this month🤞🏽X

Memum22 · 14/11/2025 13:48

MR scan date 02/05, had my call from the decision maker today with a few questions, she was then calling my boys school and said the report will be sent soon after. Fighting for HRM for my nonverbal, SMI 5 year old 🤞🏼

Mumof3b · 14/11/2025 14:47

Hi everyone, I received a report from my sons school today after an assessment with a OT. They have recommended a referral for ASD, referral for speech and language, referral for hyper mobility or possible EDS. I’m not sure whether to wait till referrals are in place to apply for DLA or do you think I should just get them sorted now because of the long wait times?
thank you for any advice

Cutie101 · 14/11/2025 15:37

I just can't believe it. Got the letter today. nNC was 5 weeks start to finish. Letter says we have it until day before child's 17th birthday. She's 12 at the moment. That's us sorted until 2030. Amazing 🎉

Definitely start it off now as you dont need a diagnosis to claim dla and it sounds like you have enough evidence anyway good luck xx

SENgirlmum · 14/11/2025 16:48

Has anyone submitted late evidence and had a decision changed. We lost MRC and LRM for our child at renewal. It’s been awful and having no entitlement at all means cancelling enrichment and extra tutoring. We started an MR but it was suggested we do a new claim so we did. Chased on Monday and was told it was already with a DM!
called today and was told it’s not with a DM. It was sitting with no action! The new claim form has now been submitted as late evidence. Previous Claim expired today so I’m hazarding a guess it’s because it’s been received prior to the end of claim that it’s being submitted as late evidence? They couldn’t give any indication of timelines and just said it’s up to the original decision maker as to whether it’s accepted or not. I’m in such a spin! Any advice welcome 😊
