Im assuming yours isnt with DM yet either? Its driving me mad waiting, can you tell im an impatient person? 😂

Nope 😂 called yesterday “still in the queue” so silly. Each claim should be numbered, then when a DM takes a pile. The call handler will know what numbers the DM’s are working on and what number we are in the queue!

They 100% need a better system. Clearly the one they have now isnt working

Honestly you would think with all the technology we have now they would do it online. Then people wouldn’t need to ring we could log in to a portal so mrs coc we could update information and upload documents I think it would be so much easier it’s might cost to do it but would make things so much easier to manage.

Kirsty19922025 · 01/10/2025 21:46

MR 16/6 long wait ahead 🙄 good luck everyone

I’m in Scotland but we can upload evidence online through our social security Scotland accounts and pretty sure you can apply for DLA and fill the forms out online too (I called for the forms to be sent out as didn’t realise you could do it online). Wonder why other places haven’t caught up with it, you can’t track the process of your claim but much easier for uploading evidence as you can upload pictures of medications and handwritten evidence X

I've found the points for my son, and I've highlighted the criteria being met by observations that were in hie autism report.

If you have any reports at all, highlight those pieces of information.
I always think that they'll discount a professionals opinion less than they will for us as parents.

Curlycookie5 · 02/10/2025 14:39

It seems quiet on here today, has anyone had any good news today?

Minigems258 · 02/10/2025 15:04

I wish. I've not heard anything 😔

Curlycookie5 · 01/10/2025 15:35

You’re the only other April on here with me, the other April had their decision at 21 weeks. I’m 8/4 for coc when I call they just say they can’t give out information and it’s not been assigned to anyone yet. Is your coc for care and mobility? I’ve sent in loads of evidence so I wondered if that’s why it’s taking longer?

I’m April too 23/04 COC

Daryl54 · 02/10/2025 15:42

Nope I rang earlier basically saying don’t call again 😂 and that there behind MR 04/04 so hopefully not long @Cozy2025 good luck 🤞 xx

Amazing to see some more April COC dates on here finally. It’s reassuring to know there is other Aprils dates still waiting. Are you doing a COC for mobility and care or just mobility? Have you called recently?

Avice · 02/10/2025 16:44

Got a call today and soon after a decision had been made but by the sounds of it, it isnt in my favour. Looks like it will be tribunal.

Just for mobility, he gets HRC and they were supposed to send forms before he was 5 last Nov but didn’t! I rang 2 weeks ago to see if I could send extra evidence when I told her 23rd April she said ‘ah you have plenty of time I won’t even bother checking where it’s at you’ve got a long wait’ great!!!

In northern ireland we can email our evidence. Whixh is sooo much better than having to actually send it and the worry about it being lost ect england should really do the same

They lost my first set of evidence that I sent with the forms and they said it was sent back. I didn’t find out about sending evidence online until I was told I could upload a picture of medications a couple months ago. Hopefully England change it so people don’t have to keep paying for postage and the extra stress of making sure evidence gets delivered and scanned on in time X

Sd nc around 25th July (would have to look back on here as didn't make a note after I d added it on here)
Received text today to say "we ve decided your child qualifies for dla"
Complex health needs following brain cancer with mobility, pituitary, processing delays, ataxia, hemiplegia. 1:1 at all times in school. Age 13
Really expected would takes ages given likely needed to speak with medical team but surprised through so soon.
Hoping for hrm mrc but likely gonna get mrc lrm based on some of the decisions lately especially if they haven't sought input from health or clinical decision makers.
Will call tomorrow.
Really hoping we don't have to do MR :(

Have you claimed under speical rules? As I think thats an automatic entitlement to HRC. Hrm is hard to get but as long as your evidence backs it up. Vuw is slightly easier to get than smi and I assume youd be claiming under vuw

Hi. He is now 2 years post diagnosis and very grateful to his medical team is currently no evidence of disease but we are dealing with a whole host of late effects.
He doesn't meet special rules as not classed as that now. - took us a while to get around to applying as first 18 months a whirlwind.
It ll depend how they have read his form

Can walk when not fatigued but ataxia means he basically walks like he's had 5 pints and so is high risk falls and danger, - have to walk alongside to stop wobbling into traffic etc.
Has wheelchair as needed and needs walking stick when fatigued (daily).
Gets up often through the night and unsafe to walk downstairs to toilet etc without constant supervision.
Who knows, even if we get lrc lrm its a start and just another battle we ll have to go through if needed.

Im not even going to lie to you, my newphew has ataxia due to his neurological condition and is also a wheelchair user and cant walk far at all, and she did have to take them to tribunal. But it also depends on how good your evidence is. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻🤞🏻for you that you wont havs to go through that. Youve both been through enough to have ti deal with that too

Minigems258 · 02/10/2025 22:43

Anyone else check their bank constantly hoping a couple of grand is in there waiting! I've been waiting since November so fed up now 😭

Tracy37x · 03/10/2025 09:26

My DS got awarded last week for a NC. I sent my other DS renewal form last week, it’s due to end January 2026, do they do renewals close to the end date? Or before? It’s our first renewal x
