You would be backdated to the date you called for forms but your wait time starts from your scan date. Are you doing a COC for mobility or both?

I did both but don't think I'll get HRM, care needs I'm hoping they acknowledge the increase and change it but who knows..

LocoCoco13 · 07/10/2025 21:32

Im going to be brave (i have crippling anxiety with stuff like this) and phone for an update tomorro. I was completely fine waiting the first 16 odd weeks but since then ive been wildly impatient

Yeah that’s the one, I’ve just done mine for care so god knows🙈 My mum is on fb and she’s been keeping me updated on what’s on there but even she’s like no wonder there is a backlog if they are giving new claims decisions in 7 weeks and waiting until 30 weeks for MR and COC😂 feel like a broken record but hopefully they speed things up for us, would hate to have to do an mr and do this wait again🙄

There is no reason why they shouldn’t be getting our wait times down now new claims are being done so quickly now, I’m beginning to give up hope of ever getting a decision 🤦‍♀️ I absolutely hate the thought of possibly having to do a MR and waiting all this time all over again, but the evidence is there so I won’t give up trying. You would think if your just doing a COC for care it would be the same as just applying for mobility, hopefully we hear something soon

I’m doing it for both too, it’s hard to predict what the decision will be, I keep reading back through my form and evidence and believe I’ve done enough but ultimately it’s down to the DM, good luck with your decision

Hate when people are calling when it’s COC and they get told you are least prioritised because you already get some sort of award, well if it’s a change and our kids care needs have changed and got worse shouldn’t they be prioritised a bit more as they’ve already classed them as needing more care than kids their age/disabled so makes no sense 🙈 Also waiting a year with MR, should be prioritised and no one should be waiting 7 months for someone to look over a claim again should be done asap to save the wait and backlog or have a specific amount of people to just deal with MR. They would be quick enough to sort your claim if you where due them money😂 My little boy is getting LRC so hopefully can only go up from here with what I’ve sent😬X

Thanks … I think the wait for everybody feels a long time. But they definitely got to have a system otherwise it wouldn’t get done at all. I’m just impatient.💜

My first n/c s/d 31/12 was declined at 27 weeks, but was with a dm from 15 weeks. The delay came with them waiting for my GP surgery, despite me bugging the life out of them, which, as an AuDHD adult was bot an easy thing to do! They get your form, they contact the relevant professionals by post and give them a deadline of 4 weeks (for the GP at least) to reply. My GP ran their deadline three times which was just GREAT. It was a decline in the end, which made it all feel a little pointless but just thought I'd share with you (:

I keep telling myself because im in n.i it will be quicker than England but that only seems to be for new claims it's quicker

Jon81 · 08/10/2025 04:15

I want to ask because I see that a lot off people saying how long mr are if u are getting some sort off award but do mr is that why it takes so long because you are already getting some sort of award. And if it was a straight decline do they get done faster.
sorry random question

I hope you get your decision soon, it is so frustrating that COC just get left as well get an award already. I'm just doing mobility, and I've heard a lot get a decision at 21 weeks and get awarded it, I'm 29 weeks today, so I'm guessing I've been declined, or maybe its my anxiety playing tricks on me. The thought of being denied it and then having to wait another 30 weeks is horrible x

I have never seen new claims be done so quick, they usually get them down before trying to get the MR and COC down, the wait times for COC when I first sent the form was 27 weeks but that’s gone up 🤦‍♀️ but then don’t we wait for ages for everything in life having a child with a disability, there is never any rush when it comes to support.

RealLimeReader · 08/10/2025 08:04

When I done my sons claim. It took 26 weeks and the anxiety in me was crazy. I found the whole ordeal very stressful. So when I done my daughters claim in August. I decided to take a dif approach. I added 25 week date in my calendar and have put it to the back of my mind and tried not to think about it at all. And her claim was awarded yesterday. I am beyond baffled. How was it so quick. Why was it so quick when so many people are still waiting from way before me. The system makes no sense at all

Positive thoughts, I hope you get the decision your hoping for 🤞 I think all this 21 weeks is just there way of getting the wait times down and it seems they started it the day after your scan date. Hopefully you hear something this week there isn’t many that go over 30 weeks

Hi All!

We received a letter in July 2025 stating that they received our claim on June 20th 2025.

its a new claim.

I was wondering if anybody else who had their claim received by the DWP around this time have had their decisions as yet?

Just trying to gauge roughly where they are as the waiting is extremely anxiety inducing!

thank you :)

I agree are lives are hard enough looking after children with a disability they could make it alittle easier for us by just being straight with us on the call instead of saying we are least priority. My daughters on MRC and it’s never been enough to support her needs but I didn’t have the evidence at the time when I first applied, there is so much extra help I could be giving her right now if they higher her award, it’s all just wait wait wait with anything when your trying to get support.

Im June 24th and 25th With a new claims, and I've heard nothing. July was when they started to shift through new claims. So any claims before July are still in a big back log.

Thank You for your reply.

it’s so strange that they’re working through July applications quicker than ones sent in before them. No idea how they work.

fingers crossed it’s not too much longer for us :)

It’s been the same for COC forms, it’s like they are trying to get the wait times down by leaving a massive section still waiting and starting on a random later date.

3isenough8 · 08/10/2025 10:16

M/r 25/03 had a phone call this morning from a decision maker asking me questions etc said she will make her decision today.

Newton1994 · 08/10/2025 10:18

Sent form recorded delivery on the 12th August , got there the 13th had a letter 2 weeks after to say received and just received back pay for middle rate care

Hippydippymum · 08/10/2025 10:20

Daryl54 · 08/10/2025 10:40

Marissa90 · 08/10/2025 11:11

Mr scan date 31/03

just called and finally been told it’s with a case manager makes me feel sick with anxiety though as we’ve been waiting a year since the forms were sent off.

thought I would post as I’ve been watching this forum for months and found it so useful to see what dates they were up to

Curlycookie5 · 08/10/2025 13:09

Has any COC had a decision on here today? My friend told me a COC has been awarded for mobility on FB but they’ve haven’t said what their scan date is?
