Hi yes I did a sleep direy I explained that she wake up thew the night 2 to 3 time and most of the time I have to take her downstairs to play with her play doh as this is the only thing that farms her down and she tryes open her bedroom window I have to sit on the window sil with her screaming at me. I found the form so hard to fill out this time as last time the school helped me because I have dyslexia myself and this time they said they could only do a supporting letter so really hard to understand and they will probably not even understand what I write I just hope they ring me if there is any confusion

If youve wrote that you bring her down and play theyll not see this as a care need and it will likely go against you, as they dont care about the child being awake all night its what care they have throughout the night that counts. I do know that you mean she needs supervision ect but with dla it has to be spent out for them in black and white unfortunately

My son stayed at MRC and LRM at renewal despite me sending in melatonin prescription, sleep diaries and reports from the sleep clinic, he needs support at times through the night but not constant side by side supervision like my daughter does, I’m still waiting on her COC to see if they have changed her to high rate care, she will be on melatonin in a months times ( probably to late to send in as evidence by then ) but I have also sent in loads of reports of her sleep issues, told them why she needs the support through the night and a sleep diary, I think night time needs are hard to prove but all we can do is voice it in as much detail as we can, good luck with your renewal, also if you struggle to write the forms in the future it may help to type it, print it out and staple it to the relevant page, it helps because it does spell check and predictive text, this is how I’ve been filling Dla forms out because I am dyslexic myself

NevilleBigBottom · 07/10/2025 06:34

Morning all! Renewal query (award expiry 06/10). It’s DD’s birthday today and I’ve woken up to a DLA payment. She currently gets HRC and LRM. If we have a payment today, when none is due, that must mean we got HRM?!

Daryl54 · 07/10/2025 06:46

Hi @PositivityRipples my MR was because on renewal they lowered him to lrc from hrc so been a stressful 6 months do you think we have to wait much longer. What about you what was your MR for 🙂 it’s taking forever isn’t it hope we hear soon xx

DLA to PIP at 16

Just thought I would let you know that you need to send id when your child makes a claim for PIP.
DWP do not ask for this when you receive the PIP form.
Rang to ask about the claim and they explained about the id and would send a letter.(last week)
Just received a letter asking for two forms of id, if sending a birth certificate they need the original.( I have sent the originals of everything and asked for them to be sent back)
Apparently they cannot go ahead with the claim until id has been confirmed.

Hi everyone. My daughter scan date is 8th August. So Ive calculated to hear back end of Jan into feb. A long wait so Ive put it to the back of my mind. However today I have received £1443.40. What could this be. There is no way her case has been sorted that quickly. I am beyond baffled and to scared to ring them coz I’m a wimp. Can anyone work out what this could be

There's plenty of claims processed from august. The payment you've got is backpay. Looks like high rate on both care and mobility x

ellierose99 · 07/10/2025 09:10

That is unless you called for the forms as they would back date it to the call.

RealLimeReader · 07/10/2025 09:13

I did call for the forms. But the date is 8th August. I just never thought it would be processed that quickly at all.

My scan date was 6th August and I received a pending payment last week.
I was shocked at the turnaround time too, thought it must be a mistake.
Just need to wait for our award letters now.
It appears anyone who applied from July onwards is being processed much faster.

Harrysmummy2016 · 07/10/2025 09:26

Good luck everyone, I hope you all hear something this week x

MR 17/04. Phoned up and lodge a complaint due to ridiculous wait times and causing financial hardship, was told this morning they will get a dm to call me with an update ASAP.
Hopefully will hear something soon as we are week 25 and to have a total decline on renewal, he has received hrc and lrm for 5 years and then just stopped.

Skjdj · 07/10/2025 09:58

Hey all, my SD was 11th August feeling very lucky I received two separate back payment today one for £1116.80 for my eldest and £883 this is for my youngest daughter who doesn’t receive the mobility element does anyone know what rates these work out too, I’ve tried calling DLA but was left waiting for an hour and then the call cut out

Looks like high rate care and low rate mobility for your eldest. High rate care for your other child.
