MR 21/03 - had a call this morning from a case worker saying she’s starting to look at the case and did I want to add anything! She said she could see I have sent a lot of additional evidence in and to give it a week or 2 to receive a letter with the decision. He’s 5 in January so she said she will be looking at whether to change it to high rate care and high rate mobility. Currently receive mid rate care :)

There's definitely some done from around that date, I just didn't want to get your hopes up too much x

Meli3 · 27/09/2025 11:23

@ellierose99 I dont have my hopes up as such, when I applied for my daughter it was a much longer wait like 5 months. I was just confused so many different nc sds. Thankyou for replying what's your sd x

LucindaJane · 27/09/2025 12:07

I have a question. Called for claim form 11/6 and had to return by 23/7. They received them on 22/7 (so scan date). But received the award letter today and it says award from 16/7. They've missed 4 weeks right? Has this happened to anyone else?

The lenght of award does go based on age/diagnosis. I think for autism it normally does 2 year awards until the child is 6/7 then it goes to 12 and then 12 to 17. Now im wondering what it will be for my daughters diagnosis or if they even have guidelines on her disability off to google 😂

That makes sense, I just hope with this coc if they do change it they change the award length because I’m due to receive a renewal form in December, it seems silly doing it all over again. I think they should call you if they don’t understand your daughter’s diagnosis, the decision wouldn’t be correctly made if they made it and didn’t have enough knowledge of her disability. Are you 23 weeks now?

Curlycookie5 · 27/09/2025 13:59

Is there any COC April scan dates on here?

The guidelines on her disability do say yo consult the medical team sochipefully they'll do that, she wasnt diagnosed when we first lut the claim in. We're 23 weeks on Tuesday

From what I’ve seen on here new claims are being done anywhere between 9 weeks and 25 weeks, they seem to have got new claims right down but some people are still waiting abit longer.

Your 2 weeks behind me then, I will be 25 weeks on Tuesday. Have you called recently? The medical team seem to make the wait alittle longer but atleast the right decision will be made in the end

By any chance did you have to send in anything extra like a birth certificate? That usually makes the wait longer or if they have contacted a professional or school? You wait seems pretty long compared to what other new claims are waiting right now.

I don’t know anything just got 2 letters in the beginning. And they asked for passports and other documents.. which I have already send them in June … should I call them now

That would be why then, everyone that gets asked for extra things like that seems to wait longer for a decision, I’m not sure why it takes longer because they have already received your documents but somewhere in the system it causes a delay 🤦‍♀️ hopefully your not waiting to much longer. I would give them a call and see what’s happening and make sure the documents you sent in have been accepted and query why you are still waiting for a decision.

I would call them to question this, I don’t see why they would wait until her 4th birthday to award her MRC and it doesn’t even say when you would be awarded to either.

It depends what the rest of the letter says? Does it not say further up about award/dates

At first it says not entitled, then says 05/03/2025 to 19/03/2026 not entitled for care or mobility
Then this part that says 20/03/2026 to na mid rate care no mobility but can apply for mobility at 5

But there's no explanation of rates etc

I would think its probably a mistake on their part. Ring them first thing to get some clarification

That's the most confusing dla letter I've ever seen give them a call.

It’s been 6 weeks tomorrow since I sent my forms. Scanned in on the 22nd August. I’ve still received no letter or text about them receiving my forms? Anybody else been completely ghosted?
