I do think it takes longer if you ask for the care and mobility together rather than just mobility etc :-/
I feel we have waited forever, just some have waited 10 weeks longer than us... posting more evidence today (4th lot) and im wondering if I should add a weeks worth of night time care i do? I never have before but his camera has picked up and alerted me to myoclonic seizure activity during night, although he stays asleep.. not sure if worth it :-/

I'm only asking for mobility to be increased and I'm still waiting as well, it is sending my anxiety through the roof. We've been referred to the early intervention team because of his panic attacks and behaviours, would it be worth sending the referral paperwork in to them for this? I've never sent additional paperwork in before but I am really worried I haven't sent enough in now.

I would send in as extra evidence. Every little helps.
I just sent an amended EHCP last week with a statement sort of summarising how the info fits care needs ect x

My daughter has her mri next week , so now im actually hoping theyll not do anything with our MR for another few weeks yet so I can get that and send it off to them 😂

I’m not sure if it is because I’ve seen people who did a COC for care and mobility and get a decision at 21 weeks. I’m going to wait til Tuesday and call up then I will be 25 weeks. We wait so long that we get more and more evidence I bet they have a massive stack for us COC forms 😂 a sleep diary will help, I printed one offline and filled it in to show the paediatrician and to send in to Dla, I think it’s the most clearest way for them to see what their sleep is like.

I called them yesterday just to get them to add a note that her funded hours on her ehcp has gone up but the ehcp has stayed the same. Any evidence you think will help send it in atleast you know they have everything you have to give.

I'll get it all copied over the weekend and sent to them, do I do it via special delivery? I've actually got quite a bit from the paediatrician I can send as we've had so much happen in the past few months. I called yesterday and he reckons if I hadn't heard anything by 20th October, then I can call back but most are taking around 30 weeks x

I was 27 weeks on Wednesday just gone. The anxiety is horrible, I'm so worried that they are going to reduce the care side even though I haven't put anything in for it, I just said nothing has changed. They need to get extra staff to clear the back log

Emmy990 · 26/09/2025 15:28

COC 04/03 decision made yesterday, MRC & LRM to HRC &LRM until 2027, that was his original date and thought they may have extended but I really haven’t got it in me to argue further so happy overall!

Finally you have received your decision, congratulations, was this the award you was hoping for? I hope they extend my daughters award if they reaward her or I will be going straight onto filling out a renewal form.

3-5 working days depending on your bank
Call option 4 and ask for the decision rates 💫

Thank you!

I tried calling through option 2 but they said they couldn't tell me.
I will try option 4 😊

😂 I was like that waiting for the paediatrician report, I’m abit more chilled about waiting for a decision now I know it’s been sent in.

I always send mine signed for next day, it’s not cheap but you know they definitely have it the next day. Have a look through everything you have and send it all together you never know how long you have left for a decision with COC, so I would send it all in as soon as you can.

Yes it’s what I thought he was entitled to but the award length is annoying as it was the original renewal date and hast been extended at all. He was given mrc&lrm August 2023 until 2027 and now is HRC&lrm until August 2027 even though he is worse and older. So his first award was 4 years, this one gives me 2 years! Or a year and a half until forms need to be filled out again so a bit disappointed in that respect! x

Brilliant I’m glad it’s what you was hoping for, if your on uc remember to update them as hrc is higher disability element. My children have only ever received a 2 year award even at renewal I wonder if they do the length of award based on their age? Im so glad your wait is finally over it would make sense to have longer awards to avoid all this back log.

Thank you! My daughter got a 6 year award at 12, my son was 2 years, 4 years and now 2 years from this COC! Rang back got my start date and updated UC. Such a weight off! I hope you get your decision soon!! xx

You're welcome, 10 weeks is way too long, it's awful that they ignore us when they owe us money but I bet if we owed them they wouldn't stop contacting us not to mention this money is for children.

I have been waiting for back pay as well from uc and it has been more than 8 weeks now.they r saying write on journal.i don't know what to do

That’s very quick as there’s still people waiting from February. I would say call them find out and let us know please . My MR is the 23/4 so I would be nice if that’s true I’m walking around with holes in my shoes atm so I can feed my child who has an obsession with food and I know there are a few here in my position. Please let us all know I’m at the point of going insane waiting 💜

I am been waiting for my child MR date 23.4.2025 no update for any decision has been made. Domt

rainbowzebra05 · 26/09/2025 21:03

SD 13/06
back payment 11/09
letters dated 09/09 with the award info. MRC, LRM which is what I think it should be. Very grateful to not be beginning a fight!

All letters arrived together, including the one acknowledging they got the original form 🤦🏼‍♀️

Is the second payment 4 weeks from the back payment date? I can’t see it in the letter but it’d be really helpful to know vaguely when it’s likely to land! :)

The lenght of award does go based on age/diagnosis. I think for autism it normally does 2 year awards until the child is 6/7 then it goes to 12 and then 12 to 17. Now im wondering what it will be for my daughters diagnosis or if they even have guidelines on her disability off to google 😂

It's not done in date order unfortunately. There's been claims done from August, but I'm still waiting on mine which was the beginning of June. Seems to be anywhere from 9-25 weeks

I actually got to speak to a case manager about three weeks ago. I called very upset to the point that I couldn’t speak. The case. Manager was absolutely lovely and told me it would be at least another 6 to 8 weeks which to be honest would take me up to the 25 weeks plus. I don’t think he was lying. He even pointed me into the right direction for charities that could help. I’ve also been watching the Facebook group. I’m like a stalker. ATM
