How long do we think for backpay? Decision was made yesterday morning but my brain switched off and couldn’t really concentrate after telling me the award 🤣

Called just now for the 4th or 5th time and the lady said a decision was made yesterday. I presume it's a decline as I've had no text etc 😪

Do people usually always receive a text? I've had a feeling it will be a decline as I didn't send much evidence (I was waiting for the ASD report) but they haven't asked for further evidence apart from my ID! I wish they would just tell us over the phone once a decision has been made 😭

I would call back option 4 tomorrow and ask for the decision, you have been waiting a lot longer than other new claims it’s the least they could do is tell you the decision. I’ve never received a text for a decision and I’ve done 3 nc and one renewal so far.

I didn't receive a text for any of my daughter's. Id give them a call back tomorrow and choose option 4 they told me over the phone for all 3 of my daughter's when I chose option 4.

Still no reply from UC regarding my backpay. They’re just completely ignoring my journal messages 😭

Mum2threeplus2bonuskids · 28/08/2025 20:43

Waiting on my renewal, current claim ends 13/09 renewal received 09/06. I have a feeling it won’t be renewed (not sure why, just gut feeling) next payment is due Tuesday, if it’s not being renewed will the payment be a little higher? I work 9-5 mon to fri so can’t call them.

Mumtuc75 · 28/08/2025 22:22

so so stressed!! MR 30 weeks today. Had a call from DM Tuesday pm to say the doctors had looked at it and now she has to discuss with her colleague but I’d get a letter by end of the week. I asked if she could tell me decision or if it was good or bad news but she wouldn’t tell me. All she said is that the doctors had made their decision and she can’t go against what they decided so makes me think it’s a decline. I checked my bank tonight for pending payments and there’s nothing which makes me more convinced it’s a decline. I sent in so much evidence. As they’ve told me I’d have a letter by end of week wouldn’t I have received payment by now if it was good news?
I feel sick with stress.

Renewal decisions are being done just before they are due to end, if reawarded the payments carry on as normal on the same date you would normally receive them, even if they did your renewal earlier it still wouldn’t come into effect until the day after the current claim ends

I would call up and ask for the decision instead of waiting for a letter, you’ve waited long enough. If they called you Tuesday night if awarded the payment would have been sent late so it would possibly go into your account Monday instead. Good luck I hope you get some good news after waiting all that time.

Coc sc 26/03 I rang them yesterday for update and been told decision has been made on the 20th and they kept it the same mrc and no mobility, child is 5 in December. I sent plenty evidence, ehcp, autism diagnosis, letters from advisory teachers proving child is currently functioning at the age of a 12-18 month old. Still in nappies and requires constant supervision throughout day and bodily functions (eg. Nappy) during the night. No danger awareness and currently in mobility pram. Im actually quite shocked with all the evidence and point I made that they decided to law ball it and keep it at mrc he received as a 2 year old with not much evidence at the time. I’m awaiting the letter with reasoning and will be applying for mr so I will follow the thread for at least another 6 months.

I feel I may be in the same situation as you, your child sounds very similar to my daughter and she will be 5 in December too, I wonder if they have newly trained dm doing the end of March COC because they haven’t been very positive. I would 100% do a MR. I’m 21 weeks on Tuesday, still waiting on a paediatrician report to send in, I’m hoping I will still have time.

MR SC 02/03

I've got backpay pending, whoop!

We were originally awarded LRC mid January (i forget the date). Our original scan date was 22/08/24.

The backpay pending is £2476.20. Does this calculate as being awarded MRC i assume? (He's too young for mobility)

Part of me had hoped for HRC as hes on a BiPAP and sats monitor overnight and does need care overnight as he likes to rip it off, but after a year of forms, evidence and waiting I don't think I'll go to tribunal, MRC is enough for what we needed, to fund private physiotherapy and hydrotherapy to supplement his NHS physio he sees every 6weeks. He's only 16month so in some respects we are lucky and thankful he has been awarded at all.

I know its a long time away, but how does applying for the mobility element work? Do we have to apply ourselves at the right time, or will they send the forms? Do we apply after hes turned 3, even with the 25-30week wait?
