The longer I wait the more convinced i am that the decision wont be over turned and its making me feel literally sick, ive sent sooo much evidence too.

Also crazy MRs and COCs in northern ireland seem to be taking just as long as the rest if the uk when usually n.i is sooo much quicker

I would call up and ask for the decision instead of waiting for a letter, you’ve waited long enough. If they called you Tuesday night if awarded the payment would have been sent late so it would possibly go into your account Monday instead. Good luck I hope you get some good news after waiting all that time.

I called up and they told me it was a decline for increased care rate and mobility. Was getting LRC but feel my son should qualify for MRC and LRM. I’m absolutely gutted. Had a good cry and now waiting for the letter so I can take to tribunal.

That’s what I don’t get. All that was verified last week but still ignoring my journal messages regarding the backpay pay.

Yes its crazy my hubby missed hes app other day he left a message 2 days ago no reply either

Emzi538 · 29/08/2025 12:53

The wait times are so stressful!
We are today week 15 on a coc form and I think the will keep him at much and lrm.. although he now diagnosed asd and epileptic... has 2 be supervised as doesn't have the cognition or awareness for a seizure an we now have emergency meds for him.
He is having mri under general anesthetic as the mri under sedation was a no go as he totally flipped out... so we have to go to kings :-/
All I feel i do I fight for him or his younger brother:-(

Im so sorry to hear this, especially after all the time you have had to wait to get the decision, definitely take it to tribunal, it will be a long wait but hopefully it will be worth it in the end. It’s so bad how much we have to fight for what’s right for our children 😞

LocoCoco13 · 29/08/2025 14:36

Well I just rang before I have zero patience + wanted to make sure they recived all the evidence. Said MRs now taking 18 weeks and we're on 18 weeks so praying we hear soon

Mywold · 29/08/2025 14:39

hi am just wondering if anyone has had a second letter saying sorry we have not made a decision on your child’s claim yet, But we are looking into it for you and it can take 15 weeks ? This was sent out at week 6 if so how long after the letter was you given a decision ? I just don’t no why they have sent it out so soon when my scan date is 2nd July. Thanks

I think thats very common, where in the uk are you? And Is it a new claim? From what ive been seeing new claims in England are taking around 10 weeks atm. MRs and COCs are so much longer

I wouldn’t listen to them saying it’s 18 weeks for MR’s. Latest I’ve seen so far for SD is 23rd March.

I think your MR will be around the same as mine as mines either 18th or 22nd April. Not sure exactly which one.

I called the other day and they just said they won’t give a time frame on it now 😂

is your MR from a decline or you going for higher rates?

Hi yes am in north west and yes it’s a new claim am only just over 8 weeks so just unsure why it’s been sent out at 6 weeks date on the letter 17/08. I have seen end of June scan dates being done at the moment so hopefully won’t be the full 25 weeks for me.

ellierose99 · 29/08/2025 15:04

I'm the 4th of June and haven't heard anything. No texts or letters either. Called to check they received the forms and they said not to call back for 25 weeks

It should be done on the date they get the forms it’s so unfair that some people only wait 10 weeks and others wait full 25.

ellierose99 · 29/08/2025 15:11

It doesn't make any sense. The woman on the phone just seemed irritated by me asking but I wasn't sure if they got lost.

Hi, it’s a normal letter they send out, it always says 15 weeks even if it’s much longer or shorter, however new claim wait times have come down and it is less than 15 weeks at the moment

Were in northern ireland so usually is much quicker here than the rest of the uk, although not holding out hope it will be any time soon.

the MR is for higher rates she was only awarded mrc no mobility when she should be entitled to high on both. My date is 22/04 aswell.

Hi everyone, I did a new claim for my son last September, I was told no and did the MR in February, I’m currently on week 27 of the MR and feeling so disheartened about it. Everytime I call I just get palmed off. It will be a whole year in September that I’ve been waiting! I’m so worried there going to say no again and then we will have to wait even longer for tribunal. 😔 when I did his original claim I didn’t have any evidence however since doing the MR I’ve sent multiple paediatrician appointments and letters, SOG’S assessment report which shows development delay, speech and language referral, blue badge, school reports and letters saying he has 1:1 and there doing an EHCP for him, ASD assessment letter, do you think this evidence is enough? He needs help with everything from brushing his teeth and washing his hands, dressing undressing, toileting, feeding etc he has to go in a stroller when we’re out due to his meltdowns and absconding, he becomes so distressed by the slightest thing. He has to sleep with me at night otherwise he won’t sleep at all and even with me he wakes constantly and tries to get out the bedroom he’s had time off school due to lack of sleep. Im so tired of waiting and just have this awful feeling there going to say no again. 😔

Hey, still no update here, I rang just now to make sure they’d received all my evidence, everything is there except one thing that I sent back in April so I’m having to resend that! The lady said I should here sometime in September, I feel sick waiting this long, September will be a full year since my initial claim
