I’ve done this. I got a decision on both carer element and disabled child element which they said they would amend my statements? No mention of back pay even though I asked. That was 5 days ago. Still not had anything on my account about back pay? I’ve messaged numerous times with no reply 🙄

When they amend your statement and add the disability and carers element that is how they work out the over payment then you should receive a letter through your journal saying the amount they will be back paying you, payment usually takes a few days. Keep an eye on when they amend your statements because you usually receive a letter not long after that.

Jenni20 · 27/08/2025 20:36

Ahhhh okay thank you. My partner has submitted his earnings so we usually get the new statement tomorrow. Will that be what you mean? About the updated statement?

MR SC 02/03

Had a phone call today where they said it was just a courtesy call to say they were now reviewing his details.

How long do I expect to wait from this point?

I’m pretty sure someone with a MR had a courtesy call in this thread or the last thread and It was with a dm? Then got a decision the next day?

When was your award backdated to? It’s the previous statements that will be amended, sometimes they do the current statement if it’s due soon before amending previous statements.

When mines was done they added the disability and carers element on my newest statement then amended the other months the day after, hopefully it will be the same for you 🤞

Received text to say that they received our claim today. This isn’t our scan date is it!? That’s on the letter of acknowledgement they send? I am not holding my breath but at least I can tell the Early Years forum that we have applied as advised.

Ah fab thank you! Hopefully not much longer! They didnt ask me for any more information or to clarify or explain anything, so I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad sign!

cringeywed · 27/08/2025 22:23

How lo bf are NC currently taking? From reading few posts on the FB groups some of them seek to have been quite quick!?

ParrotK · 27/08/2025 22:53

I know it’s late but I just thought I would check my bank seeing as they said a decision was made on Sunday and I have money in the bank saying dwp dla £1500 so I have been awarded after the conversation today

ParrotK · 27/08/2025 23:08

Curlycookie5 · 27/08/2025 18:49

Call back option 4 tomorrow they will be able to tell you

Thank you I received the money in my bank tonight looking like MRC and LRM which I am happy with anything really! I thought it was going to be declined when she couldn’t tell me the decision on the phone!

Hi, sorry to jump in the thread

I applied back in May for DLA for my son, had a phone call today asking a couple of questions. She then said she will likely make a decision this afternoon and they'd been in touch with the outcome.

Firstly it took me by surprise as it seemed quick, as I'd heard how big the wait times are and I really wasn't expecting to hear anything until mid September time at the earliest.

Anyway, I wondered if she does make the decision today, how long is it likely to be before I hear about the outcome?

I don't know why but the phonecall just made me feel like it's not going to be awarded. Is it usual for them to call and ask a couple of questions, to then say a decision is likely to be made that day?

Thanks

If awarded you'll probably have backdated money in your account by tuesday. The letter follows about a week later

Long time follower...
NC - Scan date 10/06!

I never rang up for any updates, as reading comments and the letter I received I was going to hold out untill 15 weeks...

Recieved back pay payment into my account, and by the looks of the amount my son has been awarded MRC & LRM.

My question is how to I go about informing UC, and do I need to wait for the actual letter to come first?

Yes best to wait for the letter as you'll need dates ect, you do a chnage of circular on your UC account under 'people who live with ylu' to say child now receives dla, and then under yourself to say your now a carer. Then write in your journal asking for it to be sent to a decision maker to backdated to the start of award, wkth the reason of late reporting being you only just got a decision

Personally I would call this morning option 4 and say you spoke to the dm yesterday and they said a decision would be made yesterday so I’m calling to see if the decision has been made. I thought all may new claims has been, good luck

brc13 · 28/08/2025 08:53

COC 06/05
seems to have only took a couple weeks for them to get from February to March decisions for coc so hopefully that’s the case instead of taking a months to get through a month worth of claims, I’m going to phone tomorrow to see if the evidence I sent online (Scotland so can send it online) has went through ok and try and see if they have any updates, last time I called 2 weeks ago they said it was with the reviewing team, does anyone know what that means?X

Thank you, I will give that a try today 🙂

Sorry, It was June not May 🤦🏼‍♀️ it's been 11 weeks and the letter had said 15 weeks. I'd read people previously saying they'd waited longer than the 15 weeks, so it just took me by surprise, as I'd tried not to think about it until the 15 weeks were at least up in September.

Oilytoe90 · 28/08/2025 09:33

Hi all.
COC 24/2
Called this morning, not with DM yet but the guy said I should hear withing the next week or 2
