I got the text today my SD for COC is 17th Feb. Just waiting for the letter now to see the outcome

I would call them this morning and ask for them to tell you the decision over the phone, COC take long enough as it is without waiting longer for a letter to come through

TwinklyUmberBalonz · 26/08/2025 20:59

Rang them at tea time to be told it’s with a decision maker and they will send me a text when a decision has been made and then to call them and they will tell me what’s what.

Yay it seem like they are getting through coc finally, hopefully you should hear something before the end of the week 🤞

LoudAquaViper · 27/08/2025 09:22

Just got off the phone with DLA. I just needed to confirm what evidence they have recieved and scanned on the system.

im currently almost 19 weeks into MR so I know is still a bit of a wait but I asked if the wait times are still crazy on their end, the lady never gave me an answer like they normally do, this time just said it’s still waiting to be seen. Don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing 😂

evidence sent:
— schedule of growing skills at 32 months (LO is at 12-15 months level for most subjects)
— report from portage including schedule of growing skills at 36 months (18 month at most levels)
— sleep diary (we get maximum 2 hours straight sleep a night and awake around 4-6 hours between 9pm-5am EVERY NIGHT!)
— ASD assessment referral
— statement for reconsideration
— SALT referral

all reports state how my LO needs extra support with feeding, dressing/undressing, brushing teeth, toileting (still unaware), meltdowns, etc.

we have still not been seen by a paediatrician, only had 1 appointment with SALT.

anyone that has gone through a MR before or going through one now think there is anything else I haven’t done that I could possibly send in as extra evidence?

Curlycookie5 · 27/08/2025 09:39

Good luck to anyone calling today

LuckyGoldBird · 27/08/2025 10:39

Spoke to a lady this morning, really lovely.

She said Mr they advise 25 weeks but are running over and are waiting for a new time scale to be given out to people but they haven't yet received that. So Mr are taking a long time

Devilindisguise1979 · 27/08/2025 05:47

30 weeks today of a MR and back pay is pending in my account. Looks like LRC no mobility which is what I expected and am happy with.
good luck to everyone else still waiting

Heyyyy, did they call you before making a decision? Xx

rainbowzebra05 · 27/08/2025 12:09

SD on a NC was 13/06. Was optimistic after seeing a previous comment with the same date and rang up, only to literally only get read a script from a bored sounding call centre worker about being contacted when there’s an update. No information at all.

So the wait continues! I’m sure I got text updates last time I claimed for him (pre-Covid) but they don’t seem to be a thing now!

I have rang, unfortunately not changed his rates but extended his award until 2029 so at least that's something no more renewals to do.

Were currently going through MR for higher rates, personally id send everything you have if it states your childs care/mobility needs that would be greater than a typical child

no they didn’t, I’ve heard nothing from them at all, just the back pay in my account.

I never knew they would just change the award length without changing the award, do you feel the award your child is on meets there needs?

ProudZebra · 27/08/2025 15:37

The waiting times are horrific! I first applied last June, totally rejected in December, did an MR got awarded LRC only in July. Sent to tribunal, DWP came back and said they’re sticking to their decision so now waiting for it to go to court! My son is almost 4, hitting targets for a 2yr old at almost every stage of development but he also has physical disabilities, he has a rare bone disease which means he’s riddled with tumours and in constant pain, it causes bone deformities and differences in bone lengths as he has tumours on his growth plates. We have now been told he needs wedges in his left shoe as this leg is shorter than the right and is causing pain and swelling due to the imbalance, we have been told they need to do a procedure to temporarily stop his right side growing to try and see if his left leg will catch up! The reasons for sticking to their decisions are ridiculous, I’ve totally lost all hope and I’m actually dumbfounded that it’s having to go this far. I probably won’t even have a court date by the time I get his renewal forms 😞

LocoCoco13 · 27/08/2025 16:17

They really need to sort the system out, not for for purpose at all

I feel he does meet the requirements for HRC, he needs constant supervision during day and reassurance during night several times. He has Autism and ADHD, only attends school for 6hrs if that week with 1-1 in school. Doesn't go anywhere alone even if its only our garden we have to go with him. He is 13

I think it’s the reassurance throughout the night that makes it MRC, which really isn’t right because we still provide care, both my 14 and 9 year old is on MRC despite sending in sleep clinic reports and prescriptions but stayed on MRC at renewal. My youngest hardly sleeps and is a danger to herself so it’s going to be interesting if they don’t higher her award with my coc. I don’t see why it should make a difference though, care is care, it’s times when we should be a sleep but we aren’t because we are waking up to our children.

I think it cuts off at 5.30 if you are already on the phone waiting. Did you manage to get through?

ParrotK · 27/08/2025 17:53

I rang up today to see if a decision had been made they said a decision was made Sunday but they can’t tell me what the decision is over the phone and I will get a letter. I am wondering does this mean the claim has been declined? 🥲

Siobhan1090 · 27/08/2025 18:23

It’s make a change under the child’s name, put they get Dla and when it was awarded from then go to your journal to ask for it to be backdated because you’ve only just found out the award. Congratulations on your award

I’ve done this. I got a decision on both carer element and disabled child element which they said they would amend my statements? No mention of back pay even though I asked. That was 5 days ago. Still not had anything on my account about back pay? I’ve messaged numerous times with no reply 🙄

MR SC 02/03

Had a phone call today where they said it was just a courtesy call to say they were now reviewing his details.

How long do I expect to wait from this point?
