What’s the approximate wait for NC now?

One poster a few pages back seems to have been awarded within 13 weeks or so which seems much quicker than expected.

We waited 11 weeks. SD 30/05, awarded on 19/08.

Hi guys! Long time lurker here.. My son was awarded yesterday, scan date was 2nd Feb and this was a COC. Gone from MRC to HRC. Did put in for HRM but been declined (have LRM atm), not sure I have it in me to do an MR for that but I’m very happy for him! Just thought I’d let anyone know who’s still waiting, hang in there ❤️

Hello,

back after my littles boys nc was awarded few months back.

my eldest award expires next month. Renewal forms were received by dwp 15/05/25… anyone know what they’re doing currently on renewals? If it expires before they reaward (hopefully) then that’s a huge loss financially for me :(

Thanks 🙏🏻

LuckyGoldBird · 21/08/2025 09:35

Called yesterday the man said it was with a case worker. Received a text this morning saying 25 weeks, so I called them and the lady was like no it's not been assigned to anyone and couldn't answer as to why yesterday I was told it was 😐 sometimes I think they haven't actually got a clue

Congratulations amazing news and thank you for keeping us updated with your COC, there doesn’t seem to be many COC having decisions just lately so it’s nice to know where they are up to.

My child's is up for renewal next week and i have not heard back yet. The renewal should be done in time before your claim ends.

Thankyou! Yeah that’s what I thought and I know how horrible it is waiting so hopefully it gives others a bit of reassurance it’s not too much longer 🙏🏾 I called first thing this morning and they confirmed. I called on Monday aswell and there was no decision that had been made and not with decision maker so just goes to show how quick it can be. Good luck to all who’s still waiting ❤️

Mumma2JJ · 21/08/2025 10:03

Also just to add I’m seeing a lot of feb MR’s and COC’s being done in the last few days xx

Kits45 · 21/08/2025 10:31

Got Mrc lrm but will be doing an Mr as he is definitely entitled to high rate care a friend of mine whose son has the same condition was awarded high rate care due to needing to do number 2s in nappies and that was the reason given on the award letter that I read from her where as my son is in nappies full time and receives NHS incontinence products and is under bladder and bowel so that does not seem right to me?

Congratulations, I still can’t believe you’ve got your award already, amazing news. Does your child have a lot of night time needs? And evidence to prove it? My son is on melatonin for sleep and I sent in reports for it but at renewal they kept him on mrc. I didn’t do a MR at the time because we are still at a stage of seeing what dose works for him.

Your about a week or so ahead of me, every time ive rang theyve pushed the wait further and further. Its killing me but its good because ive had so much more evidence

Yes definitely had more evidence to send. Sent off a sleep diary, report from portage on his behaviour, an extra statement regarding how he has no sense of danger and a few examples of that too.

we had sent off so much evidence the first time I was so upset he got declined and see other people who sent less evidence get accepted, don’t get me wrong we all deserve the best for our little ones, it’s just a kick in the teeth. Especially when it feels like they didn’t even look at the evidence we sent!

I called quite a lot when we was NC but haven’t called once yet since putting in the MR. It’s killing me not too but I feel they don’t care.

Aye melatonin for sleep aswell since he was 3 I'm still changing nappies in the middle of the night he wakes up twice a night and can be up 2 hours plus he is also very aggressive and violent during his sensory meltdowns it sort of feels like they didn't read it I had tons of evidence aswell but the fact mine is early wasn't technically due till 7th of October I think there rushing through them to clear the log 😑

You’ve sent loads, every case is individual it all depends what has been put on these reports, I have already planned if they don’t change my daughters award I will be doing a MR, I was thinking of printing off all the evidence again and highlighting everything of importance, so I know for sure it will be read. I think my daughters was rushed through the first time I applied because it was made a priority and the rates didn’t match how she is but I’m hoping that now I have all the evidence and diagnosis they will put her on the correct award. I’m waiting on 2 more reports so I’m hoping I will have time to receive them and sent them in because they will make a big difference to my daughters COC.

Hi I’ve been following for a while coc scan date 24/2
called this morning and was told coc are now at the beginning of feb but that mine was at the top of the list so should hear something in a few weeks, that hopefully means all of you in the first couple of weeks of feb should be hearing something soon I’m still not expecting to hear anything until mid September.

Yea almost all of that evidence mentioned his incontinence and his aggressive behaviour he was moved from the main class to the special needs hub with in a week of being at the school for agressing behaviour which is also on the evidence along with his melatonin prescription although at his next pediatrics vist we are going to discuss risperidone for him as I can't keep being a punch bag for him as he gets bigger he will do me some damage 😔
