Also sorry for all the questions but… it says that he will be entitled to mobility from the day after he turns five. And give me the payment for that too. Will I have to apply or will it automatically be paid?

If they have given you the amount for mobility that means your child has already been awarded it and it will start when he turns 5. I would say your next payment would be the 10th Sept then every 4 weeks after that, it’s paid on a Tuesday but they put Wednesday because the payment week is wed- tue

What’s the approximate wait for NC now?

One poster a few pages back seems to have been awarded within 13 weeks or so which seems much quicker than expected.

LuckyGoldBird · 20/08/2025 09:14

Mr scan date 15/5.. Called this morning and with a case worker. How long are they normally with the case worker.. Or should I just call again end of week..

First applied April 2024 😑

Curlycookie5 · 20/08/2025 09:35

Good luck anyone calling today

@LuckyGoldBird MRs seem to be taking 28-30 weeks

@Derpconfuse I know someone personally that has just received a decision from a June scan date, however I’m not sure there have been many Junes awarded yet.

Hello, me again.
Finally received the letter with the reason why my daughter was denied. To be honest it seems very sloppy, basically it said she isn't entitled because she can walk and her needs are typical which is completely contrary to what I had explained in the application.
I wasn't expecting high rate mobility as she can walk, I never once implied that she can't. But she can't walk without an adult holding her hand or being directly beside her because she will run off or onto a road and she has absolutely zero stranger danger, she wants to be friends with EVERYONE and she would absolutely leave with anyone who spent time engaging with her.
Her needs at home are far beyond a child of her age & I definitely outlined this with clarity.
If I go ahead with a MR what is the best way to reframe the issues as I really just feel like I am repeating exactly what I said in the initial application but in bold and with an under one of no youre wrong (if that makes sense 🙈)

Thank you!

Can I ask how old your child is? My daughter has social disinhibition towards strangers, she gets very clingy and obsessive with people she doesn’t know and will happily walk off with anyone, climb onto their laps and overall won’t leave them. There doesn’t seem to be many people in the same situation because a lot of asd children don’t do this. I wondered if it is part of her pda? She was diagnosed less than a year ago so I’m still learning about why she does different things.

She is 5. She will be 6 in October. But she has always been extremely friendly. Not sure if that's enough of a word for it.
Even as a baby, she had no issues being with anyone. I have two older children (12 & 10) who would have absolutely lost their minds of they had been handed to an unfamiliar family member or someone they didn't know at all.
My daughter doesn't have a diagnosis yet as trying to get her an appointment with my GP has been impossible everyday is met with 'is it an emergency' to which the answer is no not really 'ok call back tomorrow'
I always knew my daughter was displaying at the very least ADHD symptoms but it didn't become as obvious until she started nursery school, progressively worse now she had a year in primary school. Her dad has an official diagnosis for himself and I definitely display symptoms myself.

I hadn't considered that the two could be connected but it seems that children who exhibit PDA can actually even if it unintentional use the social inhibition as a tool to remain in control even though they don't fully understand this. You learn something new everyday!

Your daughter is a year older than mine, it’s such a fight to get them seen for an assessment these days my eldest child is still waiting and has been for years but my youngest they wanted her seen before starting school. I always thought she had adhd and asd symptoms from an early age but until the diagnosis of autism and pda came it explains her well. I didn’t really look much into pda but it definitely made sense of why different things wasn’t working. I have been told that her being so sociable is her way of masking and staying in control, it doesn’t make it easy though because it always ends in violence, eloping or completely refusing to do anything.

What is your scan date? I’m also waiting for a COC decision. Are you doing a COC for both care and mobility or just mobility?

Babylipswifey · 20/08/2025 13:21

I have done a mandatory reconsideration over the phone today so will my scan date for that be today’s date

Curlycookie5 · 20/08/2025 13:31
