I phoned up this morning as I had a pending payment in my bank and wanted to question what it was as I have 2 children and she had a look for me and told me the dates it was decided the rates and when it's until. So some if the advisers are really helpful on the phone others not so much. But I pressed option 4 for all other enquiries I think it was.

Could I be cheeky and ask what day it was decided? Just to give me a rough estimate on how long I need to wait for potential payment to show in bank or to receive the letter? I’m going to phone back up and hope and pray that we get a nice and helpful advisor that will answer the questions over the phone lol

I'm not sure if she said the 15/16th August. But the payment is pending for Wednesday as I'm with monzo so can see payments a few days in advance obviously some banks you can not see pending payments. But it also depends when they send the payment over aswell because they make a decision then send the details over to the payment department who then make the payments . Hopefully you should get your payment by Wednesday hopefully good luck though.

MR scan date 26/02. I found out a decision had been made on the 01/08 when backpay had entered my account. Award changed from MRC to HRC which is what I submitted the MR for.

Just wanted to say thank you to those on the previous thread who told me to submit a complaint as my children’s details were taking really long to be verified on UC. After waiting 4 weeks for my daughter’s renewal details to be confirmed (she also went from MRC to HRC) and 2 weeks for my son’s MR, a DM called me today.

They were lovely. Addressed my complaint, submitted the necessary letters via my journal and told me that my backpay of nearly 3K would be in my account by 8pm tonight. Backpay came into my account whilst I was still on the phone with them

I don’t have the @‘s of the posters who recommended I complained but if they’re still watching the thread, thank you!❤️

Good luck all

That's amazing so happy for you.. can I ask how you made the complaint please ive been waiting 4 weeks for uc to verify

thank you for your reply, yes you did read it correct he is 9 and jumped over two 14ft fences and he ran away to his nans house that’s 10/15 minutes away across main roads etc, when I got to Nan’s house the teacher that was following him had lost him as she did not see where he went when he got in the street.

he is not on any type of DLA at the moment my NC SD is 2nd July 2025 so I have a long wait ahead of me I have sent extra information into them today with the reposts I attached on here.

i have been told to look into section 19 with the LA regarding his education and I have also started the ball rolling for his EHCP but that’s an other long wait.

That's so bad that he's only 9 and school didn't act quicker he could have been hurt 😩
My sons risk assessment stated if he leaves school site they have to immediately call 999 but he is slightly older than your son..
Because they allowed my son to leave school site after physical violence on others and himself but he cut his hand open in several places in the process and was off school site bleeding heavily and nobody caught up with him.. It was me that found him and marched him back onto school site and gave first aid myself and I kicked off with the school so they've had to update the risk assessment which don't matter now anyway as he was permanently excluded from school a week before they broke up for summer 😒😑

Ahh okay i understand now so yours is a new claim so not awarded as yet.. Your child would need to qualify for HRC in order to be considered for HRM under smi.. So it also depends what award they give on the care side determines if they even look at HRM or just look at LRM... Any evidence that you can get together or get any professionals to write that explains extreme behavioural issues will help, the evidence you uploaded i would say does cover the impaired social functioning it may even cover the impaired intelligence as he's climbing fences and running down main roads and not applying the intelligence in real world situations but he is only 9 so they could say a 9 year old wouldn't apply that intelligence anyway.. If he is declined for HRM you can do a MR but it's another long wait to better to get as much as you can together additional evidence wise but if he declined and only awarded the LRC on the mobility side I would definitely try again and put in a COC once you get the Autism diagnosis because that satisfies the first marker of arrested development of the brain.. ADHD diagnosis only satisfies the marker in a few cases and it's usually taken to tribunal...
Good luck and as I say get as much evidence that describes his behaviour now and send it in..

PositivityRipples · 18/08/2025 19:11

My above comment I meant if he's only awarded LRM not LRC ***

Thank you so much for all your help and advice I will update as and when I get any decision made. Am only week 7 from SD so long way to go yet.

hope your son is ok and getting all help and support he needs. It’s so hard we have to fight every step of the way to help our children.

Have they have specific reasons why they feel the child isn't entitled to it and why they are upholding their decision?

Stupid reasons again! Likes to play football, never mind that it causes him pain! He’ll be 4 in November, I said he has poor dexterity in his left hand due to deformity so can’t dress himself etc but they have argued that his dexterity is fine because he can feed himself with a spoon, with his right hand! It’s just ridiculous

I’ve had enough of fighting now, I’m just going to withdraw his appeal because I’m so drained with the whole process! My son won’t go without though, will just have to keep hammering the overtime to provide what he needs! I’m actually so done with it

Give yourself a few days and let your mind relax and then decide what you want to do... You will continue to get paid the current rate anyway so maybe just continue with the tribunal I'm guessing you've already submitted everything now and will just have to wait for hearing date... Obviously it's upto you and I understand the stress but if it gets your child what they are entitled to and deserve it's worth it.
