@LMIAE im 10/4 and they told me it’s been allocated to someone - I also sent extra evidence off today, if you think it has relevant information sent it special delivery & call them to say you’ve done this! She told me she made a note of extra evidence on way - hope that helps!

Amazing thank you! I’ll get it sent off first thing tomorrow. Fingers crossed we hear back soon 😊

If my renewal is awarded do I have to do anything with carers allowance or uc ?

Yes, you have to let uc know. If your child gets middle or high rate you get an extra disabled child element you also can get carers element. You can apply for carer's allowance but it gets taken out from uc.

Yes he already gets HRC but renewal is due so would carers allowance just roll over or would I have to re claim ?

Yes it will all just roll on. If award is lowered you'll have to inform UC as its a different rate for disabled child element

MR 22/1 25+4 weeks today
🤞🏼 this is my last thread 😩

Edited

I hope so too ❤️

Judgejudysno1fan · 22/07/2025 06:41

Can anyone help me with this

I changed my circumstances on universal credit to become my child's carer. They verified me the next day. Which is excellent or so I thought. But 5 days on and still no back dated payment of the carers element disabled child element or the carers allowance.

My question is, does anyone know how long it can take and also because they verified she gets dla and it has shown on my statement next month's money has gone up, and it shows I'm getting the carers allowance and both elements, do I get backdated as far as the scan date or only when I was awarded last week.???? Also does carers allowance just go back as 3 months and again if I was awarded July, does that mean it will go back to 16th April?
Many thanks

Hi everyone, I thought I had a duty to come back with my update.... this group has probably moved on so much now, you probably won't know/remember me.... anyway.....

Positive post 🌟..... that I never thought I'd be writing. Sorry it might be a long one.

First forms sent - May 24
Declined entirely - Sept 24
MR - Oct 24 - reasons were basically my child is completely normal. Regardless of all of the care needs evidence, proof of diagnosis and medications etc.
MR decision - Mar 25 - changed to LRC no mobility. Due to only 1 element of personal care my child requires. Everything else was disregarded. We recieved a backpay of £1400 and £116 per month thereafter.
Appeal/tribunal application - April 25 ... and then I waited.... DWP had until 5th May to respond, they didn't.... they had a letter sent to them which I recieved a copy of informing them of this... again no response.

As I'd come to terms with the expected 2 years+ I'd be waiting for a tribunal, I pushed it to the back of my mind.

Fast forward to last Wednesday. I opened my phone to 9 (yes NINE) MISSED CALLS within the space of one hour.... from DLA. I rang them back, and after a 50 minute wait I got through to a man who said the missed calls would have been due to the fact they needed to inform me of a substantial payment being made. I didn't have a clue what he was on about. Explained we currently recieve £116 per month, nothing substantial.

He then went on to say a payment of £6700 was being made.

I was so shocked I didn't even ask the rates we'd been awarded. Dumbfounded.

Roll on to today, and said payment has entered my account. (I hadn't dared jump onto the "positive post" wagon, until it was a certain!)

I'm so shocked. I suppose the reason for this post is just don't give up hope, even when you get knocked at every possible opportunity.

i still dont know the rates.... if anyone can work them out for me based on the above that would be much appreciated.

Best of luck everyone 👍 💜

NC
received on the 02/05
couldnt help myself and phoned this morning (first call to them) and was told to ignore the letter stating 13 weeks as they can’t give a timescale.
I take it I’m in for a long wait still

LMIAE · 22/07/2025 10:28

Rang this morning to find out if I should send more evidence. I’m in 2 minds about the decision, Although a decision was made yesterday and my DC has been awarded and I am grateful - I feel it is not what she deserves. I rang on option 4 and the lady said that I can send further evidence and it will be looked at by the DM as long as it is within 8 weeks to see if they will change their mind- is this true does anyone know? I have sleep diaries, a sleep study being done at my home where she is hooked up to a machine, she broke my rib 3 weeks ago Because she woke up at 5 am, and wanted forceful affection and WWE super slammed me. I’m not sure this is quite accounts to MRC on top of all the other evidence I sent.

@PSO123 looks like HRC and LRM if they owe you 6700 plus the 1400 paid in March plus plus April may June and July at 116 is 464.
6700
1400
464 equals 8564 divided by the 15 months equals 570 a month and 570 divided by 4 is £142 a week award which works out HRC and LRC..
I think 🤔😂

Congrats either way.. I remember you we were both awarded LRC only in March.. I'm awaiting my MR dated 4th April still a while to wait for me 😁👌
