Hi I called back and they told me DS will carry on getting HRC but was awarded LRM. Im.not happy with the LRM decision and thinking of going to tribunal. Has anyone ever done this before. As I strongly believe he should be getting what he deserves.

What route of HRM would you be going down? Do you have the evidence for higher rate? I havent done tribunal (yet) but my close friend has the wait os very long usually 1 year + but theyre very very fair and as long as you have the evidence to back up they typically award in your favour

Amahh7 · 08/08/2025 12:33

I'd be going down the SMI route, I thought I sent off enough evidence and I wrote everything down that was needed for HRM so I don't know why it wasn't awarded.

There is a lot of words in that conversation that suggests it is with a DM but they don’t want to tell you it is so you won’t call. Good luck to you, hopefully you get the award you was hoping for and then all this waiting will be worth it

That's what im thinking 🤔 hopefully someone's looking at it i might ring back monday and see if there's any change

What evidence did you send in for HRM under smi? I have sent a lot in for smi but I’m still not hopeful because I know it’s hard to get

I sent in his EHCP, EP and Speach and lang reports, letters from school and paediatrician. What have you sent in and was it for an MR or COC

PositivityRipples · 08/08/2025 13:24

I called DLA 10 days ago and elevated the call to a manager to make a compliant of everyone's behalf regarding the wait times but more so them not sticking to the wait times and they keep moving the times and then still not sticking to it or keeping claimants updated with a rough estimate of the exact wait.. I complained that they say 15 weeks and when you call at 15 weeks they say 25 weeks and when you call at 25 weeks they say few more weeks and it's completely unacceptable and that we all understand they have backlogs but they just need to be honest and keep us updated.. I complained about the call handlers not even taking reference numbers on calls and just saying 25 weeks don't call back or not with DM and then claims are awarded next day so they are making things up on the spot.. I told her I already know what the call handlers can and can't see on their screens as I oversea the dwp in my job role but I won't comfirm my job role to her as I shouldn't need to just to get them to follow procedure and timescales and keep claimants upto date... She apologised and said she will take it to the management above her and start updating claimants more via text and upto date letters...

I then recieved and text message stating we are still dealing with your claim you've asked us to look at again
And then today I've received 2 letters one states.. About your request to look at your claim again we are sorry we haven't given you a decision yet this could take upto 15 weeks you do not need to contact us until after 15 weeks
The other letter states thank you for communicating with us as of 04/04 asking us to look at your claim again we are looking at it please help us meet our target if you haven't received a decision by 11 weeks from 04/04 please contact us.. Signed office manager

I'm on week 18 😂🤣😌

So these letters mean nothing.
I'm going to poke the office manager in the eye 😅😳

Ive done a COC because my daughter didn’t have any diagnosis or evidence or had even been seen by anyone when I first applied. So she got MRC and even though I knew she should have been on a lot higher I waited until I had everything before doing a change of circumstance. I’ve sent loads Ehcp, EP, diagnosis report, walking dairy, sleep diary, Musculoskeletal report, IEP, bowel and bladder, speech and language waiting list, cardiology report, blue badge application and acceptance, emails between school and myself, nursery reports, TAF reports, 27 pages statement cross referencing smi tests back to evidence, Im waiting on another paediatrician report and dietitian report to send in, she will be 5 in 4 months but I’m not expecting to hear anything until October time.

Did you have the professional evidence that states it all too? They really hate giving out HRM so will need good quality decent evidence to back it up. Also have to have a diagnosis under smi

LocoCoco13 · 08/08/2025 14:02

Ive sent in multiple physio reports stating she cannot walk unaided at all, and with the aid of a mobility device and significant adult support she can only take around 10 steps, she cannot stand or walk even with the support outside at all. Ive also sent in evidence from her complex needs nursery, paediatrician x2(shes under 2 different paeds) educational physiologist report, speech and language reports, EEG reports, her referal for brain and spinal mri. Every single one of the reports ive sent has said about her lack of mobility, and her severe sleep issues and that she needs 1:1 adult supervision at all times due to the complexity of her needs.

She also has a visual impairment with her brain only recognising images from 1 eye

And she was only awarded middle care no mobility. Its actually angers me so much how many of our kids are failed by the system set up to help them/our families

Did you send in all that with your first claim? Or since you’ve started the MR? That is disgraceful if they have only given your child MRC if you sent all that in first time around, that screams HRC and HRM 🤦‍♀️

I would call on option 4 and say the DM has called you and your phoning back to see if your child has been awarded, they seem to be making a lot of calls just lately

Flowers90 · 08/08/2025 14:40

22/04 hopefully being in northern ireland im not waiting much longer, buy they’ve pushed it back every time ive rang. First was 6 weeks then 10, then 15 and now 18 so not holding my breath tbh

Beckallf · 08/08/2025 15:09

Iv seen multiple people saying today that theyve been told by call handlers claims are taking long as schools are shut and some need to speak to schools so I guess I that case some of us could be waiting til September 😔

Jenni20 · 08/08/2025 15:13

It’s madness. Seems like a lot of people are getting phone calls. I didn’t they thy rang? Though you just received a decision letter?
