A year for a COC😬 where you declined and are now doing an MR? I was told the last time I called that they were training new people to help with claims and to give them up to year for my COC, it’s an absolute joke. I done COC in May and my kids needs have changed already and on newer medication, Hopefully you hear back soon🤞🏽X

Still waiting for Universal Credit to verify my children's identities, my next statement is due in a week. Is it worth calling them up?

Yes now doing an MR 26 weeks today on that one so COC took 6 months and MR taken 6 months. Things can change so much in the matter of months can't they? Surely it won't actually take a year for yours to go through. Hope not anyway lol. They seem to have caught up with the backlog on new claims now but COC and MR still taking so long

Crazy these wait times, people have been moaning about 3/4 months wait for new claims which is the wait time for anything you apply for now a days, cant imagine waiting a year with the MR especially when it’s for our kids which we wouldn’t apply for if they didn’t need it🙈 took 6 months of me asking the paediatrician for help with my little ones sleep and by the time he was prescribed melatonin and giving help his claim was made the day he was prescribed and he was awarded LRC because I had no evidence of his sleep so I had to do a COC and the melatonin barley even helps so everything is just a big waiting game. Hopefully they start prioritising MR and COC as it’s a hell of a long wait to possibly be declined X

Hiya,

I was wondering if you could help me. I am on week 26 of an MR. I requested they consider my daughter for HRM but hadn’t seen the flowchart from the decision makers guide at the time. I feel that I covered each point well but could have more detail in the impairment of intelligence. Do you think it’s worth writing an explanation of her mental impairment and sending it in ASAP?

I also have additional evidence but worry it’s too late. (Referral to paediatrics, speech and language, incontinence and blue badge) Do I need to ring and say there’s more evidence coming? I’m just worried it will land with a DM in the interim.

Sorry for the long message. Can’t work out if it’s a rational idea or last minute jitters. 😂

For hrm especially smi need professionals evidence across the board that is able to tick off every single point. It would have to be a professional that has diagnosed severe impairment of intelligence. Tbh 99.9% of people are declined HRM under SMI rules as its extremely extremely hard criteria to meet.

I'm the same as you. I'm so nervous.
I feel like we will be declined but my husband said we won't. She has this condition for the rest of her life, there's no way it can be declined. I feel so too but then another poster said they're child also has a life long condition and was declined and finally through MR got LOWER RATE, which is ridiculous considering what her little boy goes through, both day and night @ProudZebra

If mines declined I will be so devastated and put in a MR. And if it is lower rate, I'm definitely appealing again as she deserves more. Everyday she's in pain, after she eats she's in pain, she can't walk far and she has numerous diarrhoea explosion often mixed with blood and mucus. She is very small. She's pale and sometimes hunched over on the floor in pain. It's been so tough for her.

Dla all go on the extra care needs and child has and what a person has to do for them, not on diagnosis. So if it does have to go to MR make sure you detail all the care you have to give over and above a typical child of the same age. Spell it all out fir them in black and blue.

Hey what was your scan date for MR? I'm not sure about tribunals but I've got a feeling I'll be going this same route, hopefully it's not as long a wait as the MR!
