Hi everyone. New to the thread.
Scan date 31/12/24
Decision was made 7/7/25 but they wouldn't tell me over the phone what the decision was.
Still waiting on a letter! Does anyone know how long letters / payments take if accepted or declined even.
Just waited so long and still not got an answer! X

I know this isn’t a thread for pip but was this the first time claiming pip for your daughter? 8 weeks is so quick. I know someone waiting after changing over to pip from Dla and they are wondering how long they will be waiting.

Yeah it was a first time claim, she only recieved her diagnosis in January.

Donna543987 · 14/07/2025 17:23

Just phoned again and pressed option 4 the lady wasn’t very helpful asked when I sent the forms back and said we are still working on forms we got over Christmas time so there’s a long wait didn’t even ask for information to have a look for me guess I’m just going to have to be patient and not phone again for awhile.

Ecgx · 14/07/2025 17:39

I can’t see if any MRs have been done today on fb just everyone moaning that they aren’t done! 26 weeks MR today and waiting

Brilliant thank you. Did you receive any letter to confirm they had received your application? My friend sent her daughters form and called which they said they received it but hasn’t heard from them since, she is around your scan date for pip.

So we done the initial application over the phone and the other part was done online so we never sent any thing physically it was all done electronically.

She had her phone assessment on Wednesday last week and after the lady said she had enough information that she didnt need to follow up with a face to face appointment and we got the decision on Friday.

As she is in full time education and under 19 I believe we are entitled to the higher disabled child rate on UC, chatGPT doesn't believe me but I dont see anything else online to disagree with me, guess we will find out hopefully in a week when my statement is due

Craftypinkbiscuit · 14/07/2025 18:58

Hiya,

I was wondering if you could help me. I am on week 26 of an MR. I requested they consider my daughter for HRM but hadn’t seen the flowchart from the decision makers guide at the time. I feel that I covered each point well but could have more detail in the impairment of intelligence. Do you think it’s worth writing an explanation of her mental impairment and sending it in ASAP?

I also have additional evidence but worry it’s too late. (Referral to paediatrics, speech and language, incontinence and blue badge) Do I need to ring and say there’s more evidence coming? I’m just worried it will land with a DM in the interim.

Sorry for the long message. Can’t work out if it’s a rational idea or last minute jitters. 😂

26 weeks tomorrow for me. The wait is appalling. There's a few of us here around the 26 weeks mark have you phoned today?

Brilliant thank you so much for letting me know the process, it all seems so different to applying for Dla 😵‍💫 my friends daughter hasn’t had any communication about a telephone or face to face yet so I’m guessing that’s yet to be arranged. Thanks again and congratulations on your daughters award

Ruelzdontapplyhere · 14/07/2025 20:13

Dd is 18 on pip and I get the disability element on uc for her. Can only do this if still claiming child benefit for her.

There is a few of us around this mark, it’s just so long! I haven’t phoned since last week when they confirmed extra evidence was scanned in and that yes I was over the 25 weeks now and just a case of waiting for them to contact me. I will call again next week when it turns 27 weeks, I just feel like it’s wasted energy as they are just telling us all tough luck you’ve got to wait. Which is by all means rubbish but feel like not getting anywhere quicker by calling it seems

Judgejudysno1fan · 15/07/2025 07:02

Char4000 · 14/07/2025 12:57

Hi, I called again today to see if they’ve recieved supporting docs- they have which I good. Was told twice last week it’s with DM- to know be told today it’s still in the queue! Anyone else had this?

I have had 5 people tell me different things.
2 people said it's been looked at and in the queue for DM.
THEN 3 people told me it's not even been looked at yet and still in the queue for the case manager /DM

It is frustrating. I have heard of many posters being told different things. I even told the phone handler this and he said I'm looking at it right now and it's in a queue.
I'm 01/04 new claim

Judgejudysno1fan · 15/07/2025 07:07

mamabelli · 14/07/2025 14:26

SD 01/04/25
called just now got through in 10mins amazingly, and the lady said it’s with a DM and a decision should be made today or tomorrow. Believe that when I see it!

I'm the same as you. I'm so nervous.
I feel like we will be declined but my husband said we won't. She has this condition for the rest of her life, there's no way it can be declined. I feel so too but then another poster said they're child also has a life long condition and was declined and finally through MR got LOWER RATE, which is ridiculous considering what her little boy goes through, both day and night @ProudZebra

If mines declined I will be so devastated and put in a MR. And if it is lower rate, I'm definitely appealing again as she deserves more. Everyday she's in pain, after she eats she's in pain, she can't walk far and she has numerous diarrhoea explosion often mixed with blood and mucus. She is very small. She's pale and sometimes hunched over on the floor in pain. It's been so tough for her.

Will do, good luck to you! Mines been with a DM since 10/7 so we shall see I don’t have much hope if I’m honest x

mumtotwoxxx · 15/07/2025 07:42

hi all,
just a quick question, are case manager and decision maker the same thing? i’m so confused by it all!

Ahh your little one deserves a decent award. It’s so heartbreaking for you and her. Tbh I’m not holding out much hope, I applied for my son a couple years ago but was refused. My daughter has the same condition and struggles with daily life too. But then when I applied for pip when he was 16 he got enhanced mobility and enhanced daily care! Make it make sense!
wishing you luck x

They are not saying that in words but they might as well as it’s just a case of you have to wait until we contact you bye even though so many of us are well over the time frame now x
