That's a long time to be waiting, I would give them a call. And keep writing on the journal, your case worker should be replying. If not ask them to escalate it to case manager or someone senior x

Hi,

Can anyone confirm difference between new claim and scan date

I made a new claim via phone on 16/05, received the form then sent it back and received text confirmation of receipt 24/06, this was three days before the return by date for backdating. The text said I should hear back within 25 weeks!

Two questions if I may

  1. Is the date they confirm receipt of the completed form the scan date?
  2. If I receive an award will both DWP and UC backdate it to the original request date?

Thanks

Scan date just means when the uploaded it to there systems and the wait starts from then. So your scan date would be 24/06 and yes both will backdated until the day the forms were requested. You have to ask for it to go to a decision maker for late reporting on UC because the changes will be made outside of the time frame which they happened although they will backdated it. DLA will backdated from the 1st Tuesday after you rang for the forms

Has anyone ever been awarded with no professional evidence?

My 3 year old daughter’s original claim only had the someone who knows her part completed by preschool and she’s was awarded middle rate care ( which I knew was low for her but I didn’t have any evidence and she doesn’t sleep ) less than a year on I have loads of evidence, she is now 4, much higher need, diagnosed asd + pda, ehcp and been seen by multiple people so I have put in a COC.

Betsy93 · 30/06/2025 09:18

So I've phoned up and a lady said we was awarded hrc and lrm and recieving 2149 should land tomorrow
I asked why have I only recieved 761 and she said it was awarded mrc and basically changed their decision I asked well will I be expected to pay this 761 back then? My next payment will be the 29th
Anyone had this before it's so confusing

It's all so confusing, back payment should be straightforward 😕. It will get sorted It's just that you don't need all this extra headache. I hope thus 2nd agent is more helpful for you x

It sounds like the original dm was training and made the decision for hrc and lrm and it was sent to other dm to look over to make sure they’ve made the right decision and they’ve changed it. Really it shouldn’t be put on the system until the final award is confirmed. That is so heartbreaking for something like that to happen, will you do a mr?

No it's all worked out she's got hrc and lrm , the 761 is mrc and it is the difference between the 2 rates. I'm still receiving the 2k tomorrow.

No fb awards yet. Seems like a slow day

ProudZebra · 30/06/2025 10:31

Same date as my childs claim. I called last week as I was advised to call at 25 weeks to be told its not even with a DM and they have until July 19th (30 weeks).
I will be calling mid week (26weeks) as I have sent additional evidence.

Oh yes, I keep getting confused because they first told me my date was 27/12 the two of them said it was actually 31/12 🤦🏻‍♀️ good luck and let me know if you hear anything x
