UPDATE NC SD 9th jan
Decision was made 2 days ago phoned twice & they won’t tell me if she’s been awarded or not 😩

Hi all, long time lurker but wanted to update having just had a payment of £1400 come in this morning. Forms were requested 20/02 with SD of 26/3. Really happy that he's been recognised but I think this only works out at medium rate when we were expecting high rate.

He has autism and within our evidence we provided a detailed account of his split nights and early wakes, how I have to sleep in his room because when he does wake in the night I need to be there to stop him climbing everything including yhe stairs/stairs gate etc. We got a formal autism diagnosis the other week which we provided as additional evidence which says sleep problems as part of the diagnosis, and lastly a letter from a sleep consultant saying they couldn't fix his sleep.

Is it worth fighting to get this changed via an MR? If so what's the process? Wait for the letter with his current acceptance and go from there?

Thanks!

Defo mr it . This happened to me 3 years ago I got low rate mr changed it hr x

Anyone else waiting for a renewal decision? I have a while to wait yet i think as current claim is until end of August.

I’m awaiting, my sons runs out on 19th July & sent forms back 13th May so when I rang they said they have until 19th to do it & not to ring back till after then xx

Sounds like they arent making decisions right up until the claim runs out, i was hoping to hear a bit sooner.

Thank you! I'm guessing there is a risk they could reduce it to LRC or take it away entirely too? I'd like to think that's minimal or zero chance with the evidence we have though. Did you provide anything additional over the original application? Aside from the diagnosis, the 11 page report we wrote (about 1 page in sleep) and the letter from sleep consultant, we could add some sleep diaries that we didn't before and perhaps emphasise the care need more

Yes there is that risk. We didn’t have a diagnosis just a letter from the health visitor confirming his needs (suspected ASD very violent, bad diet and sleep ) I did provide a sleep diary but the mr just consisted of my argument , have you recived your letter yet outlining the reasons for that award ?

Sadly not. I just phoned and no decision made. This lady said she wasn’t sure it’s actually with a decision maker 🤦‍♀️

I’m past 19 weeks now, I know of course you got past 26! But it’s hard seeing decisions made with April scan dates when mine is Feb!

Appreciate your input! No letter yet, just had the payment in this morning so I guess best to wait for the letter outlining the details so we know how beat to approach the MR

Thanks again!

Mummyof4children · 11/07/2025 17:37

Did you change your circumstances that your now a carer Not just in your journal? It does seem very common to get 1 before the other though.

I rang up for forms on 16th April received a text on 19/05 to say they recieved my form and it can take upto 25 weeks I first phoned up on the 23/06 and they said was with a decision maker and they don’t need any more info from me. Does anyone know how long the decision maker usually takes?
