Hi, SD 2/4 anyone close had a decision yet? Called today and still in holding queue 🙃

new claim SD 19/03, been with a decision maker since 27th june, called today no decision made yet, and told me claims are taking 25 weeks and they’re currently on feb dates. (not entirely true as plenty of claims from march and few from april have been awarded now).

Hopefully we hear soon but i think they have right up until our dates to decide

For renewals they normally dont sort them until a few days before the end date

Congratulations what' was your scan date x

It was a MR scan date 02/01.

cooperbug · 10/07/2025 13:54

Is there any way of working out what you have been awarded before receiving the letter from them?

Almost £2400 paid in to bank today after MR (scan date 02/01). Daughter’s original award ended in January for high mobility and middle care so I know she’s been reduced.

many thanks

I’m the week behind you with a COC, they seem to be 25-30 weeks 🙄 long wait! I’m hoping now they have reduced the wait times of new claims COC and MR will be reduced too 🤞

He was on middle rate already so I put in a mr it was 52 weeks exactly from when applying to the decision, done high rate - mid rate x by 52 which gave me roughly what was in my bank give or take a few quid 😊

Sairr · 10/07/2025 16:00

Exactly 25 weeks for MR today. Feeling really anxious now! The wait is such a nightmare, I rang in January to check they had recieved everything I had sent but I haven’t called once since. I was tempted to call today but i can see no one really has any answers when calling. 😫😫

Wow congrats!!! My MR date is 07/02, he was awarded middle rate care but I think he's entitled to high rate! What other evidence did you submit xxx

I think some will take longer if not enough evidence and need to contact professionals, health workers, schools and nurseries etc.

Thank you 😊 I thought the same evidently was right , my boy is 3 and has an ehcp so I sent a psychology report, occupational therapist , pretty much anything in his paperwork that said he was a danger to himself and others he has no awareness of danger , he also was diagnosed with autism ( not that that qualifies for dla) but the pediatrician report said he has no awareness etc tried to escape was throwing things round the room mot realising it could hurt himself or others just get as much as yiu can also highlight the most crucial areas as I'm sure they skim read xxx

It works out at roughly £88 per week. Which is too high for middle rate on own but too low for middle care/ any mobility

Supamummyof3 · 10/07/2025 18:36

To anyone that has a child who is ASD Level 3, non verbal and potential GDD. If you need help gathering evidence for HRC and HRM. Do let me know. I'm happy to assist anyone. It's such a long journey and I can walk you through my experience with DLA and guide you the best I can. I know it's very hard, so happy to advise where I can.

mumtumok · 10/07/2025 19:35

Hay any renewals been done recently ? If so how close to your end of your award mines due last payment on Tuesday

I guess I’ll just wait for the letter to see as I can’t work it out either

Hi there, with the HRM what did you do to get it?

Never been given a level for my sons ASD but he had GDD, although because hes 8 they not say he has a learning disability.

We tried getting HRM via the SMI criteria but was unsuccessful at renewal. We had compiled a 4 page document about how we feel he meets the necessary tests for SMI and in his statement of reasons not once was the smi rules noted, they essentially said as he can walk and doesn't need any specialist walking aids he doesn't qualify, youd think if part of the evidence as part of the claim specifically asks you to consider something youd atleast tell us why he doesn't qualify, but nope no mention whatsoever!

CheekyGoldTurtle · 11/07/2025 06:55

Hi all, long time lurker but wanted to update having just had a payment of £1400 come in this morning. Forms were requested 20/02 with SD of 26/3. Really happy that he's been recognised but I think this only works out at medium rate when we were expecting high rate.

He has autism and within our evidence we provided a detailed account of his split nights and early wakes, how I have to sleep in his room because when he does wake in the night I need to be there to stop him climbing everything including yhe stairs/stairs gate etc. We got a formal autism diagnosis the other week which we provided as additional evidence which says sleep problems as part of the diagnosis, and lastly a letter from a sleep consultant saying they couldn't fix his sleep.

Is it worth fighting to get this changed via an MR? If so what's the process? Wait for the letter with his current acceptance and go from there?

Thanks!

Most children with asd actually tend to get awarded under vuw and a extremely high amount actually need to go to tribunal to be awarded HRM. Dla been known to deny for stupid reasons for example a 12 year old smiling while watching a baby tv show

With the VUW i read it and im not sure how well he fits it, he absolutely has refusal episodes and when he does it leads to us either not going anywhere or physically having to carry him somewhere where he will begin thrashing out and hitting, pinching, biting etc.
