If it goes to tribunal will UC still backpack aswell? Im 100% expecting our MR to be declined or theyll up the care award but not mobility so just thinking ahead really

I was awarded on a Wednesday it all depends on your bank, you u most likely will get it on Monday xx

on uc under each adult in the house you can claim carers element for 1 person you care for. If you’ve been on carers allowance for many years and then add the carers element because your child has just received a Dla award they would backdate to the beginning of award and because you would have already had the carers allowance coming off your uc in that time you would get back pay. You can add disability element to every child on your uc claim. Here is a screenshot of how to claim carers and disability element on uc.

@Mummyof4children you will receive a second letter then tell how much they owe you they will tell when it will be in your bank, l got my letter on Friday on Monday got second letter and told me when l will receive money in bank, x

Just put on my big girl pants and phoned them again for an update.

MRC and LRM until 2031 for my 6 year old. He has a diagnosis of autism and dyspraxia and I’m in tears at how much this is going to help us and I wasn’t expecting that length of time either.

NC SD was 13/03. Keep going everyone xx

Hi thank you for your response i am on carer allownce for my husband can i claim carer element for my husband or my child becouse my kids on dla he is getting dla from january this year.can you please advice me which one i shuld do for my child or for my husband.if i get back pay it will really help i want to take my kids on holiday in summer.wich we cudnt do it for very very long time.

2nd letter arrived today sorry not made decision etc I won't how many more of these letters we will get? Both state 11 weeks lol but im aware from here and fb page taking at least 25 weeks... why cant they just change the letters and state will take up to 30 weeks ?

If I’m honest I’m not sure about carers element for adults but i don’t see why It should make a different if you was claiming carers element for an adult or child especially if you already claim carers allowance. The only problem would be if you was to do your husband you may not get the back pay because you’ve been caring for him for a long time and you haven’t updated them with it before now but with your child you’ve only just found out so they would back pay to the awarded from date.

Yes carers element works differently and can be claimed together, with carers element you can work, you just need to verify you provide 35 hours of care to that person ( which most mums do ). Have you done the disability element on uc for your child? I’m currently on carers allowance for my son but have 3 children with asd so they all get Dla I have carers element for one and my husband has carers element for another and all 3 get the disability element.

No i believe if you claim carers allowance for 1 person you cant claim carers element for a different person

I also didn’t know about carers element, disability element or carers allowance until I see it on mumsnet when I first applied for my first child. Now I’m 3 children in and feel like I’ve been on these threads forever 😂

My friend claims carers allowance for one child but her husband claims the carers element for that child and she claims the carers element for her other child. I claim carers allowance and element for the same child though.

Anyone know what date they are at with MR? 25 weeks on Tuesday so hopefully not much longer to wait

I'm on 26 weeks atm. MR requested on 2nd Jan 2025. Not sure how long it's taking or where they are. Last week someone on the phone said it's with a DM. Today someone said it's in the holding. Very confused!

Yeah they keep telling me that too 😅 didn’t ring today on 2 minds to call tomorrow might put me in a bad mood all weekend though.
