NC SD 27/02 rang up yesterday for an update and was told it was with a DM, but wasn’t 100% sure if I was being told the truth as I’ve seen from previous comments that one min it’s with a DM then next minute it’s waiting to be looked at, however I’ve just had a phone call from a DM asking me to confirm a few details and have been told I should have a decision by the end of the day. And that if the claim is successful to expect a back payment in 3 to 5 working days and a letter with in 7 to 10days. hoping I get the result my little boy deserves, but now doubting that I’ve put enough detail on the form, despite sending evidence from the consultant explaining that my son needs 24hr supervision as he is a danger to himself and others around him. Gonna have an anxious wait now 🤦‍♀️

That's good news, atleast you will know one way or another soon! Sending you lots of luck and hope you get a good outcome! As I'm the same scan date as you. Praying I hear soon! What kind of things did they ask and was it a withheld number? Thanks xx

SD 26/02
just phoned and got through immediately.

Spoke to a lovely lady who said both of my claims are with a decision maker. I’d called to ask if my extra evidence has been scanned on but it hasn’t yet.

Anyone have any experience with how long it takes once it’s with a decision maker?

They told me it can be with the decision maker up to the 25 weeks.

So sorry to hear this, what was it declined on do you know the reason? X

They said ‘he can dress himself even if he puts his clothes on backwards’
they said ‘he can walk unaided even though he needs supervision’
’he displays no bad behaviour in school’ but the school evidence said he masks and goes into default mode which makes him extremely vulnarable. He has an EHCP in place which states he has EBSA and is a child in distress- feel like this one was the hardest to take because I feel he’s being punished for not lashing out over this one.

it also states he ‘loves football and has friends’ which sports helps regulate him and is something I’ve encouraged to help build friendships. He only had one friend until he was 9 and I’ve worked so hard to help him socialise and build friendships which requires ongoing support- feel like helping him has gone against me.

im not sure where I went wrong as I sent a lot of evidence- EHCP, EP report, autism report, statement off SENDCO all of which I feel show he does require additional support than an average child his age. I know other children with similar needs who have been awarded too. But I guess it is what it is I tried my best for him.

Hey all
Just wanted to relay our experience and join the waiting game.
New claim for my 3 year old, no DX but complex needs SALT, statement of ALN from school, SOGS scores, and ND assessment report sent, and received SD 11/03.
At 12 weeks I had a letter in the post saying 'were sorry we haven't made a decision yet, it can take up to 15 weeks'. Another letter same day asking for birth certificate. Sent that back with extra evidence and called today to check they had received it. Posted both freepost on the address on the claim form, and they received those documents yesterday. Guess we're sitting tight til September.
My eldest is on HRC and LRM. Initially awarded MRC August 2023 after 24 week wait, with no DX, just SALT reports and IDP. COC sent on his 5th birthday, took 25 weeks exactly, awarded Dec 2024 and for that we sent diagnosis report, ND pathway report, statement from teacher, ed psyche report & complex needs SALT reports. Our UC claim was updated 3 days after I made the amendment to reflect the date the decision was made.
Good luck everyone. x

Thank you. No they rang from an 0800 number and it was just to confirm a couple of details on the form, wasn’t anything to worry about. Fingers crossed you hear back about yours soon x

My SD is 27/02 when I rang last Friday it was waiting to go to a DM. I rang agin yesterday to be told it’s now with a DM which I took with a pinch of salt. To my surprise a DM rang me this morning to confirm a few details on my form and said I should have a decision by the end of the day. So a lot can change in a week x

What’s your SD? It’s so frustrating when you are told different things. I don’t understand why they can’t just be honest. It would be so much easier and less stressful if they sent out text updates or if you could track it online, like you can with passports. It would cause a lot less stress and anxiety x

18.12.24 it is, I am getting so annoyed now. Tracking online would be perfect and save so much bloody time x

I don’t blame you I’d be getting annoyed too. The whole system could do with upgrading. Here’s hoping you hear some good news soon 🤞 x
