Hi all,

My scan date was 28/2 but they found my original forms on the 16/12 after id resent them, finally received my back payment this morning but I haven’t had a letter or text from DWP. Do you think it’s worth ringing them or should I wait and see if I receive a letter?

thank you

Morning everyone!

Just an update for you all
NC scan date 27/2 i just called them, waited 25 minutes which is considerably better than the hour and 15 minutes last week! I was told my sons claim is now with a decision maker and he said 'it shouldn't be much longer for you now'. I asked if I would get a text he said not always, sometimes a phone call too but not guaranteed. Fingers crossed I am not waiting much longer. Wishing everyone who calls today a happy outcome. 😊 xx

Senmummy1234 · 26/06/2025 06:56

Morning all

I wondered if anyone could help. My son has been re awarded for 2 years again, problem is I don’t think this is a long enough award would anyone appeal this for a longer amount, he has adhd, autism, being assessed for Tourette’s and ocd and has major speech and language problems. I’m grateful for 2 years but just don’t feel it’s a long enough claim. Will my claim stop and how does it work please x

renewal
Claim due to end tomorrow so rung up to see if they had made a decision apparently that got made on monday, didnt tell me it over the phone and said my letter will be 7-10 days with all the information on it.
Doesnt sound like good news to me 😢

Anyone had anything similar to this? The wait is horrible

almightyfroggie · 07/07/2025 17:04

Hello there. DD 13 has been receiving DLA HRC since 2020. During the recent renewal they lowered her care rate to medium, despite her condition getting worse. There is plenty of evidence and I am sending for mandatory reconsideration. My question is - how long does it take these days for MR? Many thanks x

Hi there is a new thread 74, but MRs are taking 25-30 weeks

Lifeiswhatyoumakeit9124 · 07/07/2025 22:45

@Mommaof2babas hey, sorry it's late ( just finished work ) but I was wondering did you get the lower disabled element on uc before you got awarded HRC? I did and I'm wondering how that works with this backdating x

I was fuming when I received my statement of reasons I’ll be honest lol It stated my sons refusal to walk is because he does not want to walk not that he cannot walk, also said that there’s no diagnosis currently for him (He is on the waiting list which I said numerous time throughout the claim) no EHCP, IEP or IBP in place currently (when I’ve got a meeting with the school about an IBP next month which I stated in my claim to them with proof) Also said that simple aids can be used to reduce the need for nighttime attention xx

It’s all bullshit it’s like it’s whoever looks at your claim gets to decide really because I only gave in statement from me, my mum, my sons speech therapist at school & his assessment details from his speech & launguage test & that he is waiting to hear back from referral for his autism & I waited 18 weeks 5 days & was awarded middle rate care & no mobility which I’ve appealed & now on week 18 x

Posting again because I can’t even
remember when I posted last. Its been over a year every time I call
it just gets longer. Call guy surprised me he said tik tok and social media is ruining it because people are applying for fun and who don’t even meet half the criteria. They telling people you can apply without diagnosis so everyone’s applying for anything and everything but without a good amount of evidence the chance you will get dla is very small. This also means that the backlog is huge now. He said unless your child’s completely disabled it is a waste of our time and yours. Didnt know what to say. But yeah if you’re waiting you could be waiting a lot longer due to chancers.
