Exhaustedpigeon86 · 10/06/2025 16:54

How long does it take uc to verify the dla award? So annoying, everything is just more waiting! 😒.

They verified my uc and amended that months payment within 4 days. Still waiting for back pay 3 weeks later and not had a decision.

Coc sd 26/11/24. Rang today for update as the did say to do if hadn't heard by April. Now saying it hasnt been assigned to a decision maker yet and to give it another 4 weeks before ringing again 🥴🫠

Hi there,

We originally sent out forms off on the 12th December, but they went missing between our house and the DLA office so we had to send again so our new scan date was 28/2.

I rang up last week and was told they have found our original forms! Will we get back dated to 12th December or will we only get back dated to the 28th February?

the advisor I spoke to this morning wouldn’t give much away except our claim was with a decision maker, but wouldn’t give a time frame even though we’ve been waiting 26 weeks now since the original forms were submitted

thanks

Does anyone know how long it takes for a carers allowance claim? My son was awarded HRC so we applied for my mum as she stays a few nights a week to help with him as I need to be up for work in the mornings. She doesnt work otherwise as she was dismissed on ill health (arthritis) so fits the criteria. Seen conflicting things about how long it's taking xx

mummatothree · 10/06/2025 21:27

Hey. I’ve been a bit of a lurker but I have posted a few years previous when I applied for DLA for my eldest and middle but now I have the dreaded wait for my youngest. She has more needs than my other 2 (but she’s not even on the pathway and is an angel at school apparently so they’ve said that they won’t refer her … she’s also in reception). But I have absolutely nothing evidence wise so I am not hopeful in the slightest. I haven’t sent of any evidence because I simply don’t have it, school didn’t fill anything in because again, they don’t see anything to report.. so it’s basically just my input and that’s it. Anyone been in similar situation and been accepted? SD 28th March.

I’m NC SD 25/3
Similar to you, DC in reception but is an expert at masking (explodes at home and any other setting but school!) I’ve had some evidence (school did a supporting letter) and we are on the autism pathway and on melatonin for sleep but just feel we’ve not got enough. I’ve also sent medical letters which state things such as screamed throughout appt, just thought it would show how she behaves to other professionals too, unsure if they take note.
had to be referred for specialist dental services the other day, the referral states reason as child would not co-operate, does anyone know if I’m also worth sending this in?

MrsBoo8888 · 10/06/2025 22:39

This came up tonight on FB, was just having alook before bed - 31/3 date! They've skipped loads

Thank you for this group
Had a call today to ask a couple of questions
Rang up later today to say my sons been awarded
Hight rate care till 2027
Only evidence I sent was appointment letters for occupational therapist, camhs ,paediatric, dental hospital really detailed letters from my self about 4 pages and people who know the child was school and my dad

Over the moon for my son 😁
Called for forms and the 18th feb received them 31st March

Oh wow!
I would definitely send that as surely it’s something to explain that even other professionals are struggling with your child but I could be wrong?

I think that’s the issue I have as well as my daughter appears to be an angel everywhere except at home or possibly in a shop if we tell her no to getting something (suspected pda profile). But in shops, she goes into flight mode but at home if we tell her no, she goes into fight mode 😫 and if we have any appts or anything like that, she is just smiley, cheeky, cutesy and happy.. in this aspect I think she’s like my middle child and that’s her form of masking but then people think she’s being a cheeky child, not seeing what’s actually going on 🥴 but no one else sees this side of her except myself, her dad and my best friend .. everyone else thinks she’s just being cheeky..

It’s really difficult isn’t it.
School have recognised DC has a freeze response at school, will talk to 3 friends only and they have to prize any response out of her, they also do put ear defenders on her for assembly etc but she doesn’t cause them any issues.
same as your daughter we have flight in shops, or any clinical setting and fight at home which makes it hard to get evidence.
