Does anyone know the waiting times on receiving carers allowance? I’ve updated my universal today and they told me apply for carers allowance which I have . Was wondering if it’s like dla an takes silly times x

I got mines with in a few days was very quick I done changes through uc journal if you do it by form or call it’s longer as my cousin did that an it took about a month

That’s ridiculous! Yet if you owed them they would be hounding you for it straight away!! 🤬

Just communication would be nice to say yep it’s with a decision maker and it will be this long but no nothing when I message on my journal I get a reply saying it’s with a decision maker and that’s it

MR 20 weeks today is anyone calling today

BySillySloth · 11/06/2025 08:49

It’s really difficult isn’t it.
School have recognised DC has a freeze response at school, will talk to 3 friends only and they have to prize any response out of her, they also do put ear defenders on her for assembly etc but she doesn’t cause them any issues.
same as your daughter we have flight in shops, or any clinical setting and fight at home which makes it hard to get evidence.

Awwww no bless your little one! It’s so hard for them especially at that age because it’s all still so new to them bless them! But it’s good the school is atleast noticing a few things, hopefully they’ll notice more as they go further into education to get the right assessment/diagnosis!

Good morning everyone.
They seem to be upto 29/01/2025 SD for NC.
I've just received the back pay for my son.

Congrats!🥳

Tiredndconfused · 11/06/2025 09:12

Morning Guys, just got off phone to a guy who said they are taking 27 weeks for COC and are currently on early November 🙄
He told me to count to 27 weeks from December and that's when I'll know, I said 2 weeks time then and just repeated it's taking 27 weeks

Lmtab · 11/06/2025 09:17

NC SD 22/01

It seems to take forever for any UC extra elements, currently waiting myself.

My SD is the day before yours. I rang on Friday and they said it isn’t even with a DM yet and that it can take up to 25 weeks and even then that’s not guaranteed. Although from following this thread it’s clear to see how things can change so quickly. Maybe send the evidence in again and send it signed for and hopefully they receive it before making the decision. I was told on the phone on Friday that I had time to send more evidence if I needed too.

i think that’s what I’m going to do.
i don’t get how they can loose documents it baffles me I sent them signed for as well originally so how they’ve lost them is beyond me.

I might give them a call Friday and see what’s going on.

They don’t seem to be the most organised, Its frustrating when you go to the effort and expense of sending documents and evidence recorded delivery knowing that they’ve received it, to then be told it’s missing. I’d be fuming. I’m trying to hold off from ringing this week, and will probably ring early part of next week. Let me know how you get on when you ring them.

Hi yes I am.

The DM has sent a request out to the school for more information. I’m still waiting. SD 29/01. Don’t hold much hope, school said to me. they don’t see what we see. But she could be masking .

She has her assessment end of June for ASD. See what they say.

Don't give up.

This has just happend to myself, but they have verified both my children, one who gets dla and one who doesn't, I'm just abit confused as I didn't make any actual changes to my youngest who doesn't get dla?
