When starting the mandatory reconsideration process. Do you need to call them first before sending the MR form with new evidence or just send everything to them?

I’m so sorry you were declined!

you can print a form from the GOV website for a MR, I’ve done 2 of them now 😩

Honestly I don’t understand it to be honest! Just been on call with them they said I don’t need to fill that in as I can just send another statement in to them without it with extra evidence.

I still don’t understand how they made a decision at 8:45 this morning when they don’t open until 9. It makes me think if they really looked at his application!

Definitely! A piece of evidence we sent was from the health visitor it was the schedule of growing skills. He was 2 and a half when he had it done and was marked at 12 months for the majority of things with some at 18 and 24 months but nothing at 30 months which was his age. Then I have a decision maker telling me he’s at his age appropriate for his needs! if anything the decision maker is undermining a health professional!

Just rang for an update to see if it was with a decision maker and the man said ‘it’s in the process’ thats all he can tell me. Has anyone else been told this how long did it take for a decision? Seeing dates after ours is giving me anxiety really hope my daughter gets what she deserves. Good luck everyone 🤞🏼 xx

My son’s NC SD was 18/12. Was with a decision maker Thursday and a decision got made this morning so you shouldn’t be long now. Good luck!

I'm mr they've gave me 1st of may for decision not holding out hope though lolx

Mine is coc so they will likely extend the waiting time again knowing my luck. From what I've read mrs have to be done by the date given so hopefully yours will be done and you get what's right for your child and the fight is over 🥊xx

Have anyone heard back around about 24/12 for N/c yet. I called last week and was still in a. Holding Queue

I have the same scan date as you and I haven't heard anything yet, only 1 text & 1 letter saying they'd received the forms and are looking into it ect, I'm hoping we have a decision by the end of May at least 🙈 they are taking ages with decisions and from ehatcin reading they are all over the place with dates

Justanothermum31 · 22/04/2025 13:03

sadly mr are also taking longer my 25 weeks was last week Wednesday, I was told today they have just got to my mr date today and it could be any minute now which was 23/10 but I’ve been told so many different things I’d take that with a pinch of salt everything I’m told is always very fitting

Twinning247 · 22/04/2025 13:17

My MR date is 30/10 I’m too anxious to ring I don’t want another rejection especially over the phone. 😔

Selblockh · 22/04/2025 13:41

@ByChirpy i I called going to take what he said with a pinch of salt
He said he has marked it as urgent as up to 25wk mark, apparently when marked as urgent they get sorted very quickly
🤷‍♀️

No decision yet. Sent form off with support plan, speech and language therapist report, and specialist nursery report, and accepted neurodiviversity pathway referral under ADHD & Autism letter. We have now had his EHCP through - is it worth sending this as additional evidence at this late a stage or just hold off? I’ve seen some people with dates later than ours being accepted. New to all this so appreciate the advice it’s a very stressful wait.

Yes I felt the same really the lady said it has to be assigned a dm before the 25 week is up but I'm too not holding my breath. Thees got to be light at the end of this really long tunnel. I'm starting to worry that I've not sent enough evidence compared to yourself and others it's just horrible that we have to make a random person who's never met our kids understand their needs and prove it with paperwork. Spend a day in our shoes that would definitely be eye opening for the dms and probably a lot quicker to assess. I remember doing all this for my terminally ill mum who was end of life care/palliative care for pip and they deemed her fit for work! I contested that amd they came to the home and soon changed their mind

Definitely send extra evidence especially ehcp as you are still awaiting diagnosis the ehcp will support the extra care needed for your little one. I'd send it next day proof of postage or recorded delivery so you know theyve got it and make them aware that you l are sending it in x

Thank you - my partner just called to ask and they’ve actually made a decision and DS been accepted on MRC. Amazing news.

That being said I felt like today's phone call felt different when speaking to the call handler 🤔🤔she seemed a little shocked it wasn't with a dm yet and I've spoken to this lady before about 8 weeks ago. She had joked about my dog in the background snoring and mentioned her own dog so I recognised her voice from that previous conversation. So 8 weeks ago she seemed relaxed about the dates and didnt seem to be checking anything really and was just like yeah keep waiting for a letter in the next 10 weeks where as today she went on to actually check if the claim was assigned yet and thsr it was front of the queue and told me to actually ring back next week so I don't know 🤯

Ahh congrats!!!! As soon as your little one has gone to panel for asd referral with diagnosis i would definitely start the process of change of circumstances for hrc as they are taking 6 months you have your ehcp and then your diagnosis as supporting evidence.

Pip is worse then dla so I'm dreading when the time comes for my son to move over to pip.
Alot of my additional evidence was my personal statement which was an extra 17 pages long! Back to back! And I only write small, So the dm will be gutted they got stuck reading my sons claim 😅 I also sent in copies of hospital reviews and a letter from the senco base manager from school without realising they don't consider evidence previously sent in from his original claim 😢

I phoned today to ask for my reference number as I haven't recieved it yet he said a letter was sent out nearly 3 weeks ago I haven't recieved it then told the usual 25 week wait if so I'm looking at August

Did you post them with the freepost address? If you did it takes a lot longer for them to receive them and to scan them on so I would call them and say you posted them on such date will it still be backdated to when you called for forms. I posted my daughters COC form on 7/4 and I still haven’t received a letter yet but I sent signed for next day delivery so they was scanned on 8/4. They will send you a letter saying they’ve received your claim on such date and this is your scan date. Usually takes 8ish weeks.

Yes I just used the envelope provided. I have a smashed screen on phone ATM can see messages come threw but screens unresponsive so can't call. Currently using my son's tablet lol
