DLA WAITING TIME THREAD 67

zoeybrooks45 · 25/03/2025 10:48

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

Yeah nc sd 25/11

Oh your week before me, the lady on the phone said mines in a waiting queue. Congratulations. Happy for
you that you didn’t have to wait the full 25 weeks

Sarahlou15 · 26/03/2025 18:00

It’s strange they need to stick to same things they are saying as a person on previous page 6 of this group
was told she was declined and another was told her award for MR

Thank you, wouldn't worry about the 25 week wait thing they said same to me yesterday as my extra evidence seems to have got lost somewhere and she said not to worry as loads of time left.

PositivityRipples · 26/03/2025 18:24

S/D new claim 22/11
Awarded today they told me the rate on option 4.
LRC only
I think the DM did not put his glasses on when looking at claim and evidence so obviously will be submitting a MR as soon as i receive the letter.
Good luck everyone lots of awards this week 💫

Congratulations on your award, sorry it wasn't what you were hoping for x

PositivityRipples · 26/03/2025 18:36

@GladMintPoster Thank you.. Its okay they get it wrong all the time.. Claims get declined and over turned to HRC on MR all the time.. Or MR declined and over turned at the first tier... 💫

Just have to go through the process

Thank you. I sent all my evidence with my claim form so hopefully it doesn’t get lost

intoFolklore · 26/03/2025 19:54

Sent my last bit of evidence off today, special delivery 1pm so should arrive tomorrow. Seeing a lot of people on the Facebook group getting decisions between 17-18 weeks at the minute and I'm currently at 15 weeks so hopefully this evidence will be scanned on in time

MR 04/10

Just called for the 2nd time today and she said a decision was made today but wouldn't tell me what it was... I asked if she could put me through to someone to tell me and she said no, we're not telling outcomes over the phone and to wait for the letter, called back for option 4 but got cut off as they closed 😭😭😭 I'll be ringing at 9am!

Oh goodness. Good luck tomorrow! 🤞🤞

Leigh3 · 26/03/2025 20:22

Has anyone with a COC had any news yet?

Krconboy · 27/03/2025 00:17

NC SD - 14/11

i have just checked my bank to see that my son has been awarded his DLA but it is not the rate I was expecting him to get. By the looks from the payment he has only been awarded LRC which it totally wrong in my eyes.

It’s going to be a fight but I believe he deserves HRC. Do I need to wait for my letter for him before I can do an MR on this and to then be able to send additional evidence for his claim?

Chedder123 · 27/03/2025 06:47

Has anyone had a MR (decision made) over the phone and actually found out what it was? Or do you have to wait for the letter/money? If you did hear in the phone and was awarded any idea how long it took for the money to go in?

I was at 25 weeks yesterday scan date 2/10 and I’m seeing people awarded after me but I was also told my decision maker was on AL and back today so I’m really hoping I get a decision today. I’ve waited shy of a year since I first put the claim in 🥹

Oh goodness. Good luck tomorrow! 🤞🤞

Thanks.

Today's the day day I (hopefully) find out... after 24 weeks and 6 days.

Praying they tell me some good news at 9am.... will report back! 🙏

I'll be able to answer that this morning when I call back and try option 4 😭 MR team wouldn't tell me yesterday which makes me think a decline.

I’ve heard that always doesn’t mean a decline! Good luck let me know ❤️

StanleyParents · 27/03/2025 08:13

Sons renewal finally received yesterday after posting last Thursday on a 24hour service - thanks royal mail... Was told by a nice lady that they try and deal with renewals before they expire so hopefully will hear back before the start of May.

Sent a new claim for my Daughter on Tuesday 24 hour service and still hasn't been received so expecting it to be delivered today or tomorrow and then the 25 week wait begins!

Good luck everyone!

When I did my MR for my oldest daughter, I called and a decision had been made. I asked for the outcome and they transferred me to a case manager who told me she’d been awarded high rate care. I think it’s the luck of the draw, if they don’t, call back.

PSO123 · 27/03/2025 09:09

Phoned at 9am, spoke to the rudest woman I've encountered in all my calls so far.

Awarded LRC ONLY. For 1 year.

Feels quite pointless now.

Does anyone know if I can do another MR on this decision or not?

Yes you need to wait for your letter as will have on it why they have awarded that

how old is your child

I would definitely do a MR as you are the 3rd person I have seen with only LRC awarded yesterday so you all must of had same DM

@PSO123 It is absolutely not pointless and you should 100 per cent put in for a MR, it is better to wait for the letter so you can see the exact reasons and then you can state why you disagree with the reasons, but remember you only have around 28 days from the date your original decision was made to out in for MR so if you haven't received your letter about 7 days before the times up then call and do it over the phone and then you can send anything you need to through the post..
I to was awarded LRC only yesterday not sure of length of award or reasons as yet but I absolutely had all evidence for HRC and LRM.. Its more an insult to be honest I'd rather they declined because how they've came up with LRC only is baffling 😂
As someone else just said I think there is 4 of us awarded LRC only this week and all of us know our award should be higher it's probably the same decision maker..
Try not to let it stress you out.. Just put in your MR I know the wait time is long and horrible but the only voice our children have is us and let's not allow a DM that clearly hasn't looked through evidence and claims properly discourage us from getting what our children need and deserve..
Maybe the DM is new or blind bless um 🙄😂

Good luck 💫

PositivityRipples · 27/03/2025 09:37

@PSO123 Sorry was yours already a MR?

@PSO123 Sorry was yours already a MR?

Yes already a MR. Original claim May 24, then MR Oct 24.

I just know he is entitled to more.

Would it be appeal next?

I hope I didn't sound ungrateful. I am grateful he's been awarded something but just know it's not right.

PSO123 · 27/03/2025 09:47

Honestly cannot explain how rude the lady was I spoke to! Practically shouted at me and then at the end said "you need to inform all your other benefits".... I said I don't have any. Rude *** to make assumptions.

SoapyMcSoapface · 27/03/2025 09:48

Can I ask about how DLA works please - if your child gets awarded LRC, but you disagree with the decision and put in for an MR which is another lengthy process, what happens with payments in the meantime? Will you start to receive LRC payments from the point of award until you hear the outcome of the MR?
🤔

Child is 9.

Unfortunately already MR. So think appeal next?
