DLA WAITING TIME THREAD 67

zoeybrooks45 · 25/03/2025 10:48

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

Have they told you why it’s taking so long? My friend is still waiting from 24/10 I thought she would have had a decision by now

avocadoadvantage · 09/04/2025 10:39

NC SD 17.01 (form requested 9.12)

just checked my bank balance and have been paid £1722 by DWP. Assume claim successful although haven’t received a letter or text or call.

Am surprised as I expected a much longer wait.

Foreverlearning88 · 09/04/2025 11:35

Roughly how long is the scan date after you send the forms usually? I had the confirmation they had received my forms in December for a new claim but I didn't keep the letter or even read it properly 🤣🤣 just blah blah yep 15 week wait 🤣🤦‍♀️

Thanks in advance ❤️

try and call them at 9am exactly, thats the easiest way to get through.

Personally i only sent new information BUT i only sent off the form for the first claim.

I'd put a complaint in no way am I allowing them to extend the wait times , especially when for me it's nearly been a year think it's like 1 months shy of a year wait from first new claim. Definitely wouldn't allow them to do that.

Mumof1xox · 09/04/2025 11:58

@Foreverlearning88 mine was a week after I sent my form it’s best to phone on option 4 and ask for your scan date hope this helps x

I only sent in new evidence mainly because it’s new evidence or updated evidence since his last claim

Thanks. Im happy to keep waiting as I know the date could be irrelevant as the timescale of new claims is very wide judging on here so ill keep "patiently" waiting !! 🫣🤦‍♀️🤣 to think before I found these posts, I was expecting to hear from them ages ago thinking the 15 week deadline was an absolute worse case scenario.... far from it 🤣 I sent back around 6th December so it could be anytime or weeks away yet 🤣

Mumof1xox · 09/04/2025 12:22

@Foreverlearning88 worse case scenario you will probably hear back from them by the end of May but saying this most new claims have heard back from 18,19,20 weeks. My scan date is also in December and is now with the decision maker, but I’ll probably have to wait another 4 weeks x

Mumof2JE · 09/04/2025 12:30

That's been really quick, i cant tag the perosn still new here, it was to the lady who had her forms from January done xx

I should call up really as I've sent 2 lots of extra evidence with extra details from me as I was so oblivious to how important it is to be so specific on the original forms and was stupidly filling them in whilst in the middle of a terrible night up and down trying to settle my daughter in bed so absolutely know I didn't fill them in properly so have since sent in extra statements from myself to hopefully fill in any gaps I messed up on 🤦‍♀️ I was not in the right state of mind when filling them in so if they haven't had the extra evidence and statements, this could be a long wait for nothing 🤦‍♀️ lets hope not! Xx

Orangemop · 09/04/2025 12:31

@avocadoadvantage that’s great news and really quick they do seem to be moving faster now. Hope you got the award your little one deserves

Send in original evidence and plus any updated e.g. up to date ehcp or reports I would just send the updated one not the original if that makes sense you can’t guarantee that they have access to the original IMO

Mumof1xox · 09/04/2025 12:51

@Foreverlearning88 I messed up on the forms as well as I was trying to rush it before the school run but like yourself I also had to write a personal statement so helpfully it should be enough evidence if you have included everything in the personal statement xx🫣

I may be wrong but that roughly equates to £137 a week so that would be HRC and LRM?

Morning all. I got the uc backpayment today 🥳 2 weeks 3 days in total to process which I think is pretty quick! Good luck everyone waiting on decisions this week or chasing up the uc x

Im at 2 weeks currently with this received a letter to say decision maker has awarded for the claim to be backdated but havent received anything else about payment or how much. Its like getting blood out of a stone 😂
