Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

@avocadoadvantage that’s great news and really quick they do seem to be moving faster now. Hope you got the award your little one deserves

Thank you. I was quite methodical with the form and used all the guidance/phrases etc I could find. I think we’ve prob got lowest rate but I was half expecting nothing.

Im at 2 weeks currently with this received a letter to say decision maker has awarded for the claim to be backdated but havent received anything else about payment or how much. Its like getting blood out of a stone 😂

Seems one battle after the next!

Can someone help me who as done a renewal I am ABIT confused some say send all evidence new and what I sent before and some are saying the new evidence that I got after DLA award I have tried calling DLA but on hold for over an hour then get cut off

I've done a few renewals now and I send in all evidence I have so new and old. Apprantly they don't keep the evidence we sent originally so I just end it all again.

I'd put a complaint in no way am I allowing them to extend the wait times , especially when for me it's nearly been a year think it's like 1 months shy of a year wait from first new claim. Definitely wouldn't allow them to do that.

Yh ours was may last year, and now this long wait for the mr😩 they told me it would be done this week and to wait for a letter, rang today and its still with dm 🤷‍♀️

Throwingitallaway24 · 09/04/2025 16:30

Argh I've just missed a call from them as my daughter is in theatres today having a cental line fitted. Probably too late for me to be able to ring them back and get through now!!

Holta · 09/04/2025 20:38

Got this on my journal for uc today, is it a long wait for this to be processed in the bank or 3-5 days like the dla. Seems to be mixed results on here, but looks like some didn’t get the amount given either.

I received mine in 2 days

Throwingitallaway24 · 10/04/2025 08:44

Does anyone know if you can ring back through the phone lines to follow up a missed call or am I best off waiting to see if they ring me again? I'm hoping it was a DM ringing me for info as at least then I'd know our claim is being reviewed. We are 18 weeks today for nc!

Mumof1xox · 10/04/2025 08:50

@Throwingitallaway24 call back on option 4 hun and say you missed a call from them x

Thanks I've got the number ready to dial at 9am haha!

Mumof1xox · 10/04/2025 09:01

My claim has been with the decision maker for a week now does anyone roughly know how long it takes with them? As I’ve seen someone people getting decisions after a couple days with the decision maker

Mumof1xox · 10/04/2025 09:08

I just spoke with them again and got told that I should have a decision within the next 2 weeks but I’ve got a feeling it’s gonna be a decline for some reason.

Throwingitallaway24 · 10/04/2025 09:08

Got through straight away on option 4 only to be told that there's no notes that anyone tried to ring me! I don't claim any benefits the only thing I have is the DLA claim I'm waiting for 🙄 the lady I spoke to was nice though and she said she'd add a note that I rang up so if the DM is looking at least they'll know I did try to get in touch!

Mumof1xox · 10/04/2025 09:10

@Throwingitallaway24 the wait is honestly to stressful 😩 hopefully you should hear something soon x

intoFolklore · 10/04/2025 09:22

SD 12.12 new claim
Just called up and they said its still waiting to be allocated to someone. Does this mean we are quite a long way off a decision? How long does it take to be allocated to someone?

Mumof1xox · 10/04/2025 09:36

@intoFolklore it doesn’t automatically mean
that it’s going to take long to be allocated to someone it might take a couple days or a couple weeks to get allocated to a dm but then again they’re going though the new claims very quickly. Hope this helps x

Cinnamoncupcake · 10/04/2025 09:39

Does anyone know how change of circumstances work? Would it be back dated to when we called for the forms? Meaning there would be a backpay or arrears payments based on the award it gets changed to? Or would it just change from the date the decision is made?

LoudAquaViper · 10/04/2025 09:40

NC SD 18/12.

long time reader, first time posting.

called today still waiting to be allocated. Got told should be allocated around middle of June but I think it’s just a generic thing they’re told to say adding 25 weeks.

I'm COC 8/11 and got a bit of a mixed response when I asked this question. One told me it would be backdated to when I rang for forms and another said it would be backdated to SD

ThatAutumnalApricity · 10/04/2025 09:55

COC SD 15/10
Rejoining this thread after taking a break. It's been just over 25 weeks so far.

On the letter they sent me with the change of circumstances form it says it needs to be back by a certain date which makes me wonder if it will be backdated to the day i requested the forms. My daughters forms was only scanned on Tuesday so a long wait but hopefully worth it in the end, when I first applied she was 3 and hadn’t been seen by anyone but now shes been diagnosed through community paediatrician, has a ehcp, IEP, SALT, Dietitian, Bowel and bladder, cardiology, educational psychologist, a lot can happen in a year 😵‍💫

s39 · 10/04/2025 10:23

@PositivityRipples hi I was just wondering if you had any information to when they are due to wrap up MRs COC for Oct looks like still a lot of people waiting to hear I remember you saying last year when I was waiting to hear bout my NC you had an ex partner who worked for the DLA x

Throwingitallaway24 · 10/04/2025 10:29

DM rang back and he was really lovely. He said he had made his decision a couple of days ago but wanted to query why the forms were late. I explained I had some difficult getting a couple of letters together but he said that was okay. He confirmed she was awarded and I asked if he was able to say the rate and he confirmed it was LRC. He explained why and tbh I think it is fair given my daughters age. I was more worried it would be total decline!!

So to summarise:
SD 5/12/2024
Awarded LRC 08/04/2025 so just shy of 18 weeks.

Really hoping for everyone still waiting you get the outcomes you deserve.
