DLA WAITING TIME THREAD 67

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

🌟 APPEAL QUESTION 🌟

Just submitted our appeal, following our MR decision on 26th March.

Don't know if I am being thick, but given the waiting times for tribunal, what happens at renewal if we end up getting the award I think he deserves? Can you cancel your appeal? (This won't be for another year yet but just thinking ahead!)

How long should it take for payment to come through bank ? I’m with Lloyds if that makes any difference. Decision made on 4th so Friday just gone, not sure how the weekend affects it ?

How long from DM approving back pay did it take? Mine was approved Saturday not sure of process now

It was 10 days after dm approved backpay but I think this was delayed because uc tried to phone me and I missed call, then they didn't call back till end of the week. Call was just to tell me the amount and ask if I was ok with it being paid in 1 lump sum. They could have asked me in my journal which would of saved time. Maybe put a note in your journal saying whether you are ok with it being paid in one go or not, might save them ringing you about it

Surely they have to have a date/week where they say this is taking to long now. It's a ridiculous waiting time over half a year! And they ask if/why you've not reported some changes right away.... forms take forever to fill in and them you spend 6 months worrying that someone is judging your child as to if they are disabled enough to get what they deserve.

ByChirpy · 08/04/2025 07:29

@Selblockh @Scaffwife
Have either of you rang this week?
Wondering if its even worth my time or frustration ringing today 🤣

NC Scan date 02.12 - Money just appeared in bank account today!

DD 7 yrs. AuDHD. I can't exactly work out what rates she's been awarded but it's roughly a back payment of around £100 a week. So possibly MRC and LRM, or maybe HRC??

Chocthedog · 08/04/2025 10:42

NC SD 17/12. Money in bank today. Very shocked and happy. I thought I might have another couple of weeks wait minimum!

Good luck to everyone waiting x

Renewal Update

end date 28/04
decision made yesterday

I called again today and I’m glad I did. We have been awarded the same HRC LRM. I’m really happy with this outcome and believe it’s right for my daughter. Award length is 2 years again which is annoying because she is autism and adhd diagnosed. Not really sure how longer awards are given but I’m going to take the win! Been on these threads for 18m between my two daughters so a break is needed until renewal for my oldest!

Mummy2Annie · 08/04/2025 11:30

NC scan date 11/02
I received a letter yesterday saying it should take 15 weeks

ByChirpy · 08/04/2025 11:49
