Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

Text message this morning - We've decided your child qualifies for Disability Living Allowance. You don't need to contact us about this. We'll send you a letter with all you need to know. If you don't get this within 2 weeks please contact us.

I did coc on uc on 29th March they verified on 31st today had decision will backdate just now waiting for case manager to work out amount and pay x

I just rang on option 4 on the off chance it was them. They confirmed it was and my daughter was awarded yesterday, HRC and LRM. Absolutely over the moon, and feel so validated in all that she and we experience.

The only annoying thing is that I sent my form back before the date requested, but they took 2 weeks to scan it and so have only backdated to the scan date, which means nearly 8 weeks of missed pay.

I just rung and they said a decision was made today but can't tell me over the phone?? Anyone know how and if I can find out? X

Hey hun. So i did coc 27th, messaged on journal also 27th requesting it to be backdated. Had no response to either. X

Apparently ring back go through all the options etc and when it asks are you ringing about a claim you have made or a MR etc press option 4

You need to choose option 4 on the very last list of options, not option 2.

Maybe ring them? As you should be ahead of me x

I called them today, she has wrote a note on my journal for someone to get back to me
regarding it by 6pm tomorrow, but nothing as of yet. If no one does by 6pm tomorrow i then dont know what to do xx

Not awarded dla at all and going to send a information pack on the Mr

I'm sure they will now you've rang I'm curious how long take to work out backpayment and pay it out. My award period ends today so may be why verified already x

How long after it was due back did they scan it as they scanned mine the day after it was due

No I am on hold with them now but fully expecting the 25 week script tbh. I have a couple of docs I wouldn't mind sending over but they're speeding through November so don't want to waste my time otherwise

Good luck, I rang last week and didn’t tell me anything about the 25 week wait, just that it was in a holding queue (whatever that means)

Just got off the phone they said realistically it'll be end of May as it's taking 25 weeks but it could be sooner and it says "decision pending" apparently.

It was due back on the 13th November, I sent it a few days before that date, it was scanned in on the 26th.

Did they say it was with DM or just point blank nothing

Just seen someone post on Facebook that they’ve been awarded and their scan date is 24/12. Obviously I’m happy for them and that the wait is finally over but it’s just disheartening when we’re still waiting and our dates are before that

Have you got a tracking number to show it was there on time? That's really poor of them.
