Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

How long does it take for payment once decision has been made?

3-5 days x

1senmum2another · 27/03/2025 14:00

Afternoon all. So i spoke to someone this morning, my little one was awarded Hrc, no mobility as is under 5.
Sd was 22/11, decision was made 25/03. So 17 weeks & 4 days.
Good luck to everyone still awaiting decisions.

Hayes1208 · 27/03/2025 14:02

MR decision 25/10 25weeks I just rung and pressed 5 1 4, man told me decision over the phone. No change in award 😫

Chedder123 · 27/03/2025 14:10

I’ve just got a call for more info! On the spot nerves were gone… I’m hoping that means I’ll get a decision today! I’ll call back later I think! MR 02/10

Has anyone had a MR (decision made) over the phone and actually found out what it was? Or do you have to wait for the letter/money? If you did hear in the phone and was awarded any idea how long it took for the money to go in?

I was at 25 weeks yesterday scan date 2/10 and I’m seeing people awarded after me but I was also told my decision maker was on AL and back today so I’m really hoping I get a decision today. I’ve waited shy of a year since I first put the claim in 🥹

I was awarded monday. MR. 3/10
I have rung every day since Monday Mr line and option 4 and no one will tell me. No money nor no letter yet.
Sorry not much help xx

That’s so annoying for you as some do get an answer! However the ones I’ve seen get an answer over the phone have been declines so far 🫣

They are saying 25 weeks but claims are currently being done around 18 weeks.

Throwingitallaway24 · 27/03/2025 18:16

16 weeks today for us from scan date (or date they say they received the forms?) I may give them a ring tail end of next week and see if I get any info.

intoFolklore · 27/03/2025 18:26

Has anyone had this in relation to carer element and disabled element please? Did the backpay get approved by the date?

Finally have his pediatrician letter ready to send, aswell as letters sent to his school and social services occupational therapy, I don't think they could be any better, a full list of his diagnosis alongside his erratic and unpredictable behaviour and his insomnia which requires care through the night. With his EHCP, statement from school and his speech and language report I truly feel confident he will get what he deserves!

What's the best address to send additional evidence too? Do we write his name and reference number on these letters with a cover letter to explain?

Thanks!

Coc sd 8/11
Spoke to dla yesterday was told was still in a que could be looked at by 20 weeks (this Friday although they recieved my sons claim last week of October but scanned it 8/11 so technically week 22 since i posted) but could take the full 25 weeks. Looks like new claims, renewals are getting done within 18 weeks but not COC bottom of the pile I think 🤔

PositivityRipples · 27/03/2025 09:33

@PSO123 It is absolutely not pointless and you should 100 per cent put in for a MR, it is better to wait for the letter so you can see the exact reasons and then you can state why you disagree with the reasons, but remember you only have around 28 days from the date your original decision was made to out in for MR so if you haven't received your letter about 7 days before the times up then call and do it over the phone and then you can send anything you need to through the post..
I to was awarded LRC only yesterday not sure of length of award or reasons as yet but I absolutely had all evidence for HRC and LRM.. Its more an insult to be honest I'd rather they declined because how they've came up with LRC only is baffling 😂
As someone else just said I think there is 4 of us awarded LRC only this week and all of us know our award should be higher it's probably the same decision maker..
Try not to let it stress you out.. Just put in your MR I know the wait time is long and horrible but the only voice our children have is us and let's not allow a DM that clearly hasn't looked through evidence and claims properly discourage us from getting what our children need and deserve..
Maybe the DM is new or blind bless um 🙄😂

Good luck 💫

Yes we were LRC only for just 1 year - how strange, definitely same decision maker! I'm really in 2 minds about an MR - we have results of an ADHD assessment in 2 weeks so may well just try for MR anyway if that comes through in time...

coc as 31/10 they told me any time now to 25wks

so I’m definitely thinking full 25wks

Crochetmumma90 · 28/03/2025 07:20

NC Sd 11 Dec. Sent last bit of extra evidence beginning of this week. Anxiety is really kicking in now as I’m seeing end of Nov dates get decisions and some random Decembers. Fingers crossed lots get a decision today 🩷

1senmum2another · 28/03/2025 08:07

Good luck to everyone today waiting for decisions.

Chedder123 · 28/03/2025 09:23

I’m getting so confused, was told yesterday that a decision had been made on my MR (now over 25 weeks SD 4/10) phoned this morning option 4 and they said no decision has actually been made, can they make it and change their mind? So confused 😆🤷🏽‍♀️

Hi I've had a msg to say UC will be backdated to my childs dla award date, does anyone know if they will pay this before my next uc payment date which will be 25/4 or if that backdated amount will go in as a separate payment before then? Thanks x

This is what I'm trying to figure out too! On a few Facebook groups some people have said 3-5 days, some have said 2 weeks and some a couple months! So I have no idea 😅 We got notification to say they'll backdate it on Monday and nothing has been updated on our statements or anything so I have no idea x
