DLA WAITING TIMES THREAD 66

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

So annoying that Barclays dont have this pending payments feature 🤣. Would put alot of our minds at ease wouldnt it. I would definitely call, have seen a lot of people yesterday and today on fb page around your date being awarded. Good luck hun and keep us updated x

Thank you 😊 best of luck to you too. Yes I really wish Barclays had this feature but they only show you what’s going out 😄 will keep you updated x

ya1991 · 25/03/2025 12:35

Been watchin thread for a while, SD 21/11 rung this morning for update told no decision - just recieved text to say my child qualifies. Will try and ring to see what he was awarded

Chedder123 · 25/03/2025 13:12

So a decision maker (but not my one) called me as I asked yesterday for an update and they said they will get someone to call me. They didn’t ask any questions but I was told that my decision maker is on AL until Thursday! When my 25 weeks is tomorrow…mines an MR 2/10

ya1991 · 25/03/2025 13:13

He was awarded HRC til his 5th birthday (July) then HRC+LRM til 2026. I supplied very little evidence just two IEPs and a supporting letter from teacher.

will be hanging around until august by the looks of it 🤯 25 weeks is soooooooo long

14/02 for me. They told me early August x

Whatalongwait · 25/03/2025 19:48

@thezippyminthedgehog Glad you've finally been awarded!

Anyone else still waiting from October for a new claim? My scan date was 29/10 and has been with a decision maker for over two weeks.

Congratulations, so happy for you☺️ what did you get awarded?X

It looks like HRC LM. I did not expect HRC, it must of been due to the evidence showing how much school struggle with her?

Thank you, I am surprised as I thought it must of been a decline due to taking so long so hold in there a bit longer! When the letter comes I'll let you know how long it was with the DM. Backpay today and was with DM on 7th March when I rang

If it makes you feel better from all the claims I have seen over the longest time I have been waiting 😂 it seems people generally had a decision between 18-20 weeks. Mine seemed to be one of the longest waits. 23 weeks yesterday but backpay in today at 23 weeks and a day.

Thanks lovely. You must be so relieved. I'm sitting on my hands today trying not to call. Going to try to hang in there till Friday but your being awarded at 23 weeks has kept my hopes up it's not a decline.

Hayes1208 · 26/03/2025 14:36

Just phoned about MR, 25 weeks yesterday. They said a decision has been made and they don’t give decisions over the phone for MR? And letter could take 10 days? Is this normal? Or do they just not want to tell you it’s a decline over the phone 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

Apparently ring back option 4
on other thread lady was told hers

MrsKB16 · 26/03/2025 16:09

I had Mr decision made on Monday. MR won't tell me nor will option 4. Tried yesterday and today. They just keep telling me that you can only be put through for New claims. Guess it's a decline :( x

Hayes1208 · 26/03/2025 18:47

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking, a decline if they won’t say on the phone.

Jjj2015 · 27/03/2025 10:49

Hi 👋

Just wanted to share our timeline for everyone else waiting still.. called for the forms 07/10/24.. SD 15/11/24. Called 20/03 for an update, they made a decision that day (MRC & LRM) no text, or call from DM to ask any questions, back pay recieved 25/03, award letter recieved today 27/03.

Fingers crossed everyone's not waiting too long, they seem to be getting through them more quickly now 😊

KH94 · 27/03/2025 10:50

Hey!

Has anyone on here ever notified UC and had the journal message/letter to say that special circumstances apply and the statements will be adjusted. Roughly how long does this take please? And also how long from receiving that notification (Monday 24th) til the back payment is made into our account please?

Thank you!
