Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

I rang Friday and mine was with the DM. He said not long now. The waiting is awful, 21 weeks tomorrow for me. Seen so many awarded way before 20 weeks!

What evidence did you send? Maybe it is the evidence getting looked at taking longer or the pile is just huge? But I am still waiting too. It would feel better knowing that decline or award we would receive a text but waiting and waiting then possibly waiting even longer for the decline letter to arrive.

i dont see how that cna be the probleme tho they have had since wednesday to look at it all it doesnt take nearly a week to look at the evidence he said ill hear by wednesday but i was told monday the other day it really is pissing me off now im 19 weeks tomoz so i know how you feel with the wait

Not sure if it makes a difference on what evidence you send/how much you send. We sent a fair bit - son is on the pathway for ADHD diagnosis and he's also epileptic so had all those letters. Then sent EHCP, SALT letters, educational psychologist etc too x

Really hope you hear something soon. They said to me last week that it wasn't even being look at yet and then 3 hours later I had a call from a DM so you never know x

Been sat ready these threads for weeks now, my scan date is 30/10 rang twice and sent my sons psychologist report in. I’m worried it’s going to get declined. I had to give up work as my son was struggling with me working long hrs. My anxiety is through the roof. I’m all new to this 🙈. My oldest son is nearly 22 and has a mild learning disability and adhd and ive never claimed for him now my youngest son is 10 so started the process.

Iv just rang mines still with decision maker 🙄 been 3 weeks got till next Thursday they said just gotta wait

I agree, I am just trying to rationalise why this process is so frustrating 😂

I sent: Letter from head about possible exclusion due to behaviour, EP report (which was detailed and focused a lot on her sensory issues), she also has an EHCP (but I did not send that) and a statement from school pastoral.

In the EP report it says that school referred for autism and we referred for ADHD.

Really is im hoping now hes messaged the DM i may have a chance i said that my sons reins are on the small side now and when he has a meltdown he tries too run no sense if danger at all so i need to buy him bigger ones but cant do that without a decision i feel like crying why is the fight so hard for us moms when we have people who play the system who would probs get a decision the same day 🙄

They should do an online system where you can see where it’s at etc

I had a similar experience when i first applied for my son couple years ago. It was on decision makers desk for over a week and was told only a couple days they should have it, i then put in a formal complaint, that same day that i made the complaint his was declined. I did an MR straight away, within 2 weeks i had another decision maker call me and personally apologise for the fact that i had to even do the MR, he said i should have been awarded instantly first time. And he overturned the award to Hrc and Lrm. I believe making the complaint about her lead her to just declining. The system they have is not working, the wait times are horrendous. I hope you get the outcome you and your little boy deserve. Im currently still waiting for Nc but my Sd is the 22/11 so still a way off for us x

Ill aint put a formal complaint in yet just asked if they could as her too have a look as i need reins for him but if they carry on i shall 🤣

Hey all so glad I've found this post. Ive been waiting since the 2nd October for a COC. I keep being told oh ull get a letter when a decision is made but that really doesn't help. Pointless even ringing 😩

Called last Wednesday as it hit 25 weeks ( scan date 13/09 not 16/09 ) and was told there's a few weeks extra delay due to Christmas and to call back in another two weeks if I haven't heard...

Just got through to an absolutely lovely gentleman (forgot his name) to double check if my eldest daughters renewal forms had been sent he said they had but if nothing by next week to call back.

I then asked if I could check my youngest daughters application progress whilst I was on the phone. NC scan date 15/11 and he was so lovely asking about the weather and very chatty. He said that she's in the decision makers queue which I don't know what that means but was just so pleased he gave any update really.

Just updating here in case people are worried about calling, there are some nice ones amongst the rude ones haha!

SD 29/10 - Called Thursday and still waiting, called Friday and with DM and today called again and still with DM. 😐

Yeah, awarded either Thursday or Friday - DM rang me Thursday on the school run, said a decision would be made that day or Friday, said I'd get a text and if I haven't had one by 4pm Friday, to ring so that's what I did and found out he got awarded over the phone. I really don't think the call holders have accurate information as the Thursday 1pm call said it's not being looked at yet, 25 week wait and be with a DM on the 18th March... Then literally 3 hours later I had the DM ring haha xx

Well its either today or tomoz they can awarded me then as he said by wednesday im calling back about 3 tho 🤣

I would caution calling so frequently... there was a recent post in one of the fb groups where a DM commented negatively on someone calling repeatedly while talking to them about their child's claim and it was then declined... I've seen other posts where people have been noted as nuisance callers too... I understand your frustration I really do but it won't help speed up the process... more frequently now DM's are contacting schools and that can cause cases to be with them longer than intended... I hope you get your decision soon
