DLA WAITING TIMES THREAD 65

1000 replies

zoeybrooks45 · 21/02/2025 20:01

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

I couldn't even care less now about thr claim, I just need to know 🤣.

Yes it'd be useful for my son to replace broken items, ripped/chewed clothes, private tutors and 121 swimming etc, but I'm past caring 🫣

Hi! Does dla sent letter every month saying how much they will pay?

No

AnonymousMum37 · 07/03/2025 21:38

PositivityRipples · 07/03/2025 20:01

@AnonymousMum37 is this for a new claim? How old is the child? Could be to confirm identity or send in child's birth certificate at a guess.

Yes new claim, 8 years old. I guess they'll try again on Monday?

Glitzxx · 07/03/2025 22:17

Can they reward at the weekend has anyone had text on weekend

PositivityRipples · 07/03/2025 22:35

@AnonymousMum37 They should ring back Monday but not always the case if they're working a few claims at a time.
If they don't call you back by like 4pm on monday then call them if they left a name ask to speak to that specific person if they didn't leave a name ask the call handler to check who called you from looking at your account and transfer you to that person or ask them to check the notes on the account to see if they can see what they called you for and if it was for additional evidence or birth certificate ect so you can get it sent off ASAP and saves you waiting and wandering 💫

PositivityRipples · 07/03/2025 22:37

@Glitzxx Yes they award claims at weekends the DMs work sat and sun... 💫

C1502 · 08/03/2025 05:23

what’s a MR like, the process? My little girl is 17months old she’s had DLA since being 8 months old she currently gets MRC. I’ve sent off a COC hoping to get her the HRC but you know when you just feel like it won’t change🤣she’s definitely entitled to it but it just depends on who looks at it doesn’t it🥲

Glitzxx · 08/03/2025 07:45

Hello my little one turns 5 this month but forms were sent off in january, I know before 5 it's usually just care you apply for but because they turn 5 while waiting will they automatically assess for moterbility? Or will I have to buy a different application in? Thanks in advance

Hi, would also like to know this, I have submitted my son's renewal, his old claim runs out on the 20/03. I rang today to ask, they told me they normally make a decision close to the end date, but hoping they make a decision this month, the wait is horrible. I've just got my son's autism diagnosis on Tuesday, he still may be getting diagnosed with ADHD, as waiting on school sending evidence into cahms before they can make a decision on it. The man on the phone told me to send proof of my son's diagnosis in once I receive the letter from cahms. Really hope a decision is made soon I hate the wait😬 what is your scan date?x

I have only sent my DS renewal this week, his Dla isn't due to be renewed until July. I thought the renewal forms seemed harder to complete than the original form, I did have a lot more information to add this time around though so printed each answer out and attached it to the relevant page. Good luck on your renewal next month will come around so quick

MaddyM8 · 08/03/2025 15:31

My daughters renewal should be July, when should I receive renewal forms as I've not had them yet? Might give it another week then call and request x

I thought the same about the renewal forms, it felt like I had attached much more extra information that I had wrote down. First time round he was only on the pathway for asd and ADHD assessment, he's only just been given diagnosis of autism on the 4th of this month, still waiting to see if they will diagnose with ADHD also. I have received a letter from cahms today with proof of his diagnosis so gonna send that first thing Monday once I photocopy it. Hoping they may award for longer then 2 years this time. I'll let you know soon as we get a decision x

Does anyone know when the back payment usually clears please? We were awarded either Thursday or Friday (I was in so much shock I can’t actually remember what they said on the phone 😂)

the only reason why I’m asking is because my sons birthday is on Thursday so I’d love to be able to book a weekend in Thomasland (his absolute dream - that’s his version of Disney world 😭💕) get a bunch of sensory bits for him and a swivel/wobble chair to open up on the day 🥺. It’s not the end of the world if it’s not before Thursday as I’ll be getting it all either way for him but it would just be nice for him open on the day x

Frankadoodle · 08/03/2025 17:34

@Glitzxx I don't know . I rang on Tuesday I think it was and they told me it wasn't with a decision maker . And then Thursday an award had been made .

Anybody been delayed with DWP responding back to the first stage of appeal? There was someone on a previous thread but I don’t remember what they stated. The deadline is tomorrow and they haven’t responded back.

Did you receive your response in the end, please? I’ve lodged our appeal, they have until the 6th of April to respond x
