DLA WAIT TIME THREAD 62

1000 replies

zoeybrooks45 · 11/01/2025 22:06

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.
DLA contact number is 121 4600 0800 121 4600

It seems like MR are running close to the full 25 weeks now. I am 21 weeks nothing as of yet. But I expect those before me to hear first anyways. It’s really frustrating!

I’m 26weeks today for MR still nothing I rang yesterday and they need to assign it to a new decision maker as mine is off sick

COC 02/08 had decision today. Stayed the same, didn't add mobility on.

Icantthinkofastupidname · 14/01/2025 09:31

Good morning! Scan date 22/08.

Checked my bank account today and we have just short of £700 pending from the DLA, so I assume we have been approved and awarded LRC. I am so grateful that we have been heard as he is only 8month and I know it can be extremely difficult to get awarded for a baby.

However, I'm just wondering if it would negatively impact the claim or be too cheeky to push for an MR for MRC? 'God loves a trier' so the saying goes...

If we did put MR in, does the LRC continue to be paid or is it frozen for the next 25 weeks while they review? Is there a chance they can review it and decide actually, they don't even want us having LRC?

Thank you :)

Thank you so much so how do I authorise myself as my son's carer? I don't want to apply for carers allowance as I was told was no point by DWP x

You need to report the change of circumstances and change that you are caring for someone x

Hi everyone just an update for everyone who’s waiting
scan date was 20/08
awarded 06/01 - found out 07/01
backpay received 09/01
informed UC 07/01
UC accepted the backpay request 10/01 and issued a payment due to go into bank tomorrow.
DLA award letter come today 13/01
if only dla was as fast making a decision as they was sending the payment.
UC was incredibly fast I was expecting to wait weeks

im shocked uc sorted that quick I was awarded last Tuesday and reported the change straight away verified and sent to a decision maker Wednesday and still waitng for decision maker to sort backdate x

sjay1017 · 14/01/2025 10:09

Hi I was awarded yesterday but lady on phone option 4 told me the system hasn’t updated yet? Does anyone know when they do update? I tried my bank to see incoming payments but they said they can’t see this until it clears. So any advice guys?

Baby122224 · 14/01/2025 10:24

Renewal claim, SD 30th October, called today and with a decision maker

Yes they can decide to give no award at all if you ask for a MR, so it can go either way really, if you decide to push for higher though I wish you luck for your boy xx

The decision maker rang me, then spoke to the school after speaking to me, then decision was made in the evening of that day! Fingers crossed for you!

Justanotherlove · 14/01/2025 10:56

@Abbie12 had you sent any evidence to dla from the school already?

I don't understand why they approach schools, no school admit to children's needs else it's a reflection on them not coping etc. All schools are positive for their funding

Mummytokk2018 · 14/01/2025 11:30

Scan date 28/11, new claim.
In for a long wait.

I have the same. They asked why k didn’t report sooner, I’ve replied and heard nothing back! Hoping that they do this soon!

Mummyto5beautys · 14/01/2025 12:01

I would ask them to escalate it to the decision maker as you have been waiting longer than 2 weeks x
