Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

Also, I was convinced it would be a no and I hadn't filled in the form correctly, I hadn't sent enough evidence etc, the longer time went on the more I was sure I had failed my child. Be kind to yourselves, it's such a draining process and wait.

It's frustrating that DLA are not letting people know about the wait times. We've had two letters both saying up to 15 weeks. And then they are annoyed when people call? Without this forum I'd have no idea people are looking at 25+ weeks

Just rang DLA, got straight through. Been told that my original wait time of 20 weeks was wrong, and should be expecting to hear back end of February for a decision now.

Called. I have been told a decision seems to have been made but the system crashed and she couldn’t tell me the decision 🥲😩 she said she will call me back to tell me……I really hope so because I am not feeling too good atm 🤪

First it started at 20 weeks now they push decision times to 25 weeks. They just do as they please with no effort to update those letters. It’s very frustrating process. No update for me today at 21 weeks.

Coc 02/08 still no decision. Not even with DM

NC SD 4/9 haven't rang altho am tempted to but as there is august dates still waiting I think I will try and hold out on calling. Good luck everyone

I’m in a similar situation my son had turned 16 Friday gone and still not had a decision and was told dla would still look at it because the claim was put in before he turned 16 and if I was awarded I’d be paid dla , then once decision was made by dla if it was a positive one I’d be awarded dla until I applied for pip and got a decision of then

We have been awarded HRC until 2027!!!! Im crying. Thank you all for keeping me sane and good luck to everyone waiting!

@012345k hello, did you say your scan date is 28/11 and you're calling for an update or have you sent evidence you're checking they've received? As they are nowhere near the end of November scan dates at the moment.

So after being awarded for 7 years last week….I no longer need to call DLA for updates….my new hobby….checking UC for updates 😂

New claim 22/8/24 awarded 9/01/24 MRC LRM for a total of 7 years! Meaning my girl will be 12 by the time we have to renew!

Congratulations who been awarded hopefully some more awards on the way I’m not ringing I always end up with the same man ( I swear I do )before I even speak I get it’s 25 week wait please only call when it’s been over 25week rude is not the word 🤣🤣🤣🤣
