DLA WAIT TIME THREAD 62

1000 replies

zoeybrooks45 · 11/01/2025 22:06

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

I'm also 4/9 sd.nc so busy today with appointments I can't call. I'm hoping i will have time to spare after 3pm so I may ring then if not will have to be in the morning. Good luck 🤞

I've got day off today so no excuse but I'm too anxious to call until the 25 week mark , as I know they will fob me off. I know it sounds stupid but also, I feel like I'd rather read a decline than hear one 😔. Sorry for the negativity just prepared for a decline 😔 .

I totally understand what your saying, I'm worried about a decline too. But seeing loads of other people getting told they have had decisions makes me want to know either way, so I can either be happy or start a MR

The whole process of everything is absolutely awful and then we are made to look bad for being impatient, the doctor has only just started the adhd referral process as they refused to do it until the asd was decided, its just so frustrating, fingers crossed you don't have much longer to wait, they seem to be speeding through August and September new claims 💪

Waiting for everything is crazy isn’t it. I rang today and still nothing. It’s literally taking over my life at this point. The anxiety is wild haha. I’m prepared for the worst and just want to hear that now. Good luck with everything your waiting for to

Jumbocoffeemorning · 20/01/2025 13:45

NC S/D 10/09. Congratulations to all the awards today!!

I’m hoping after seeing a few early September dates ours is coming soon. I can’t face ringing so just holding out for back pay or a decline letter!

@CGBJ hi, how old is your little one? Did you apply under smi, if so what evdience did you send?

Also - is there anyone else waiting for a high mobility award under smi /vuw?.
I'd be grateful for people's stories and list evidence submitted x
More and more people are applying down this route so any help would be appreciated

My son turned 5 during the wait time. To be honest, I've no idea, I didn't know about SMI/VUW until I found this site (after I sent my form off) I had a brief note from Sendco and I wrote a 9 page letter explaining the difficulties.

Will it tell me what he's been awarded under (SMI/VUW) on the letter? If so, I'll update you as soon as it comes.

Yes it’ll tell you which route they’ve done it under on the decision letter x

It's such a relief they awarded from 10/04/24 not going to argue for Feb I've had more than enough of MRs and waiting 😂 fingers crossed for you and everyone else. Will stick around for a bit to cheer everyone on x

PositivityRipples · 20/01/2025 15:16

@JW070116 I'd argue the Feb scan date but I'd wait until after back pay and award letter so ut doesn't delay anything 😂 I'm still going to be waiting for a while I'm only on week 8-9 but I don't mind as long as my child is awarded once they get round to the date 👏👏

T113 · 20/01/2025 15:47

My claim has now been picked up by a case manager how long roughly till you get a decision after that?

Anniej2024 · 20/01/2025 15:52

Does anyone know how long it takes for back pay to go in please? My son was awarded last weds and Thursday afternoon when I called they said they were waiting for a supervisor to sign it off.

I may think about it, but just breathing a sigh of relief today 😂 the wait time is coming down so hopefully it won't be 20/25 weeks x

Justanotherlove · 20/01/2025 16:05

She's been awarded 🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊 MRC LRM i just am sooooo happy finally 💪 it would have been a year in Feb I started this, no idea of length will need to wait for the letter- thank you everyone you really have kept me sane throughout the last couple of months ❤️

Not been on here for a while, but so glad to see you have finally been awarded. Congrats!

I finally got my letter and have been awarded til the day before my son's 6th birthday (he's 2½ next week so wasn't expecting a long award). Just got to apply for mobility near his 3rd birthday if he's still not walking then.

tyravoss · 20/01/2025 17:06
